Waverly Green was constructed in 1946 and exhibits the attributes of the time: original double-hung picture frame windows, classic molding, period detailing, warm hardwoods and ceramic tile flooring. All of the main systems, like plumbing and air conditioning, have been upgraded to today’s standards.
With the charm and character of the period comes the personality of an older home: creaking floors and the patina of timeworn wood and painted surfaces. We believe that this charm adds to the livability of the space and is not considered to be problematic. Adding to the effect are antiques and art objects from around the world. If you like your curtains to match the bedspread, you might want to stay in a guestroom at one of the many local commercial hotels. Waverly Green is a self catering unit. Not appropriate for young children.

We stayed at this home for the Rose Bowl parade. What a wonderful location. We were able to walk to our parade seats, while observing the floats lining up on our street. The night before several horse carriages were being decorated right outside our living room window. All this and still a quiet stay. House was perfect for our girl's getaway. Beautiful gardens in both front and back. Mountains in the background. Very clean. Welcomed with a bottle of bubbly - perfect for our New Year's Eve celebration. A short trip from Burbank airport. We Uber'd everywhere and had no issues with transportation. Could have walked many places if the weather was better.
This is a wonderful place to stay! Clean, quaint & quiet. The apartment is very homey & nicely decorated, with all the amenities. The back garden is beautiful! Staying here really enhanced our experience in Pasadena. Thanks so much. We would definitely stay here again!
We needed a spot in Pasadena that had 2 bedrooms, wouldn't require climbing any stairs, was in a nice neighborhood and was well-maintained. We got all of that in an apartment that has been updated in all of the right places (bathrooms) while maintaining its vintage charm. It was comfortably furnished and we especially appreciated the numerous antique/vintage accessories used here and there. It is very conveniently located close to shopping, restaurants, local sites of interest and Old Pasadena. It would be a great Rose Bowl home base if my alma mater ever manages to make it there! The neighborhood is lovely and would be great for strolling. Although the patio and yard are very nicely landscaped and equipped, we did not attempt to use them due to a few outdoor stairs and the physical limitations of one member of our party.
Enjoyed four nights at this house. Lovely patio in landscaped back yard - got to watch birds at the bird feeder from there and also from the kitchen window. Comfortable beds and nice quiet location. Well equipped kitchen.
The only thing that I would add would be an easy chair or another small sofa in the living room so two people can lounge and watch TV. Owner was helpful and available. Good access to Old Town Pasadena. Ralph's grocery store nearby. Enjoyed touring historic districts and spending most of a day at the Huntington. Went to Chado's Tea Room one afternoon. Took light rail to downtown LA another day. Highly recommend this property!
We had a wonderful three weeks summer time in this cottage style property. It has everything we needed. Nicely decorated rooms and beautiful backyard and garden. Great location and neighborhood.
We really enjoyed our three-night stay at John's place. Everything about the apartment was perfect - clean, well-equipped, pleasantly furnished, a wonderful backyard, ideal location and a lovely, quiet neighborhood. We were in walking distance of the Norton Simon Museum and the Wrigley mansion (headquarters for the Tournament of Roses) and a very short drive to downtown Old Pasadena. John was extremely prompt in answering two messages I had sent before our trip and returned our cleaning deposit the day after our departure. This is a wonderful and very relaxing place to stay if you are in the Pasadena area.
