2024 Calendar is open for booking! We rent on a Friday to Friday rental schedule so you have a full weekend to enjoy your beach vacation!

Welcome to Surf and Turf - where tropical breezes and golf course and ocean views will delight you from each door and window of our home. We have everything you need for a memorable family vacation or getaway with friends. This non-smoking, pet free house was designed with comfort and relaxation in mind! (Please do not ask to bring your pet!)

We have four bedrooms (a smaller master downstairs and primary master upstairs) each with private bath. Three of the bedrooms have porch or deck access. The bunkroom offers a fun sleeping arrangement for the kids.

The first floor features a living room, dining room and kitchen as well as two bedrooms with queen size beds and two full bathrooms. The spacious screened porch can be accessed by sliding doors in each bedroom as well as the living room and dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all amenities and appliances.

The family room is open to the kitchen and includes a flat screen tv. The breakfast table seats 10 or you may choose to dine outdoors on the screened porch. The washer/dryer are located on the first floor for easy dropoff on your way in from the beach!

The master bedroom and bath are located upstairs and offer beautiful ocean views from a private balcony. A second porch off the master bedroom overlooks the 9th fairway of the Bald Head Island golf course. The primary master bath offers double sinks and a separate shower and garden tub. The bunk room and bath offers room for 4 more! There are TVs in all of the bedrooms.

We provide beach towels, all linens, pre-arrival cleaning, and wireless internet service. Our guests have the opportunity to purchase a temporary membership to the Bald Head Island Club and/or the Shoals Club. Both offer a fitness club and pool, as well as casual and fine dining options. Shoals also offers beach access.

For quiet nights, enjoy a great selection of DVDs, books and board games. Surf and Turf is a two minute bike or golf cart ride to the Bald Head Island club or the beach.

In the garage you will find 4-seater and 6-seater golf carts, both with seatbelts for the safety of you and your family. You will also find beach chairs for your use. There is plenty to do on the island - casual-to-elegant dining, several clothing/gift shops, camps and education programs, etc. There is a full service grocery store, ice cream shop and take-out pizza. Fishing, kayaking, surf lessons, scavenger hunts and sightseeing charters are available. Come see for yourself - Bald Head Island is a perfect vacation destination.

***Temporary memberships are available to the BHI Club (No golf) and Shoals Club for a minimum of 2 days each. Available for separate purchase upon inquiry.

Owner's Cancellation Policy - (Please note: different from VRBO's stated policy)
90 days prior to arrival - Full Amount Paid, less an administrative fee of $50.
45 to 89 days prior to arrival - Amount paid minus $200 of your deposit will be refunded once a re-rental is secured.
Less than 45 days prior to arrival -- All payments will be forfeited

Wonderful home in a great location

Memorial Day Vacation

This house worked well for our two families that shared the house. The house is close to several beach accesses, and Bald Head Island Club. Our elementary school aged boys loved the bunk room. The patio off the master bedroom has a great sunset view. M

BHI Return Trip

First and foremost I have to say that the home was very spacious, well stocked, and within great distance to multiple beach accesses. We had a really great time on the island, and overall the place is beautiful and well situated. We did have a few issues and resolutions that might impact others’ stays. First issue was with the master shower early in the trip that unfortunately couldn’t be fixed until the end of the week. Meg and John answered our call and arranged for the plumbers to come. It couldn’t be fixed and ended up needing to be blocked off until parts arrived. We were given the option to have them come back and fix it shortly before we left but we opted to use other bathrooms to avoid having plumbers try to come back out while we were there. We didn’t get the check in email for some reason (could be on VRBO’s end) but we texted Meg once we realized the issue and she was very prompt with texting the code and let us know they were available for any other issues. I also think that the electricity was having issues because when we tried to use the floor air conditioner in the upstairs bunk rooms (which needed it because of holding heat) it would trip the electric. There were instructions on how to restart it on the fuse box, but it was definitely something that made us uncomfortable. Finally it seemed as though the house keeping service prior to our arrival didn’t do a very thorough job. There were wet towels in the washer and dryer, the floors turned socks black, and the sink in the downstairs bathroom was clogged with standing water. There was stuff there to clean up with and Meg offered to reimburse us for anything we needed to purchase to unclog the sink, but it was still not ideal. There were other small issues, but I think overall the house needs some updating to get on par with similar homes in the same price range. The owners were very kind and helpful, but of course would have preferred not to have the issues in the first place.

Great Location quite Cul-de-sac

House is in a great location, not far from the ferry and most importantly just a very short distance from the beach. The owner communicated promptly, property was just as described. Definitely recommend to stay here.

We fell in love with Bald Head on our first trip to the island. We love the beaches but we also find plenty of places on the island to explore, including the wonderful summer programs/camps for children. We are never ready to end our Bald Head Island vacations - the weeks fly by and we count the days until we return again. It is truly a special place for our family.
