Located on 12 acres that backs the Kaibab National forest, this gorgeous cabin is located in Parks, Arizona; which is between Flagstaff and Williams off of Interstate 40. It is the absolute perfect vacation and/or romantic get-away, for the outdoor enthusiast, high altitude trainer, artist/writer, family gathering, or just plain rest, relax, and recharge! It is only 3 miles off OLD ROUTE 66!

It is very quiet and private with FULL panoramic views of the Peak, Or Mt Humprey's.

It is very private and quiet, and has a FULL panoramic view of The Peaks (San Francisco Peaks, or sometimes referred to as Humphreys Peaks), and other surrounding mountains and hills. The Kaibab is 1.4 million acres. This allows for endless trails for hiking/walking, running, or perhaps also enjoy biking, and horseback riding. In the winter, sledding, snowmobiling and cross-country ski right out your door! This is a great home base for excursions to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Flagstaff and Williams, all the outlying areas.

It is located one hour from the Grand Canyon, 25 min. to Flagstaff, about 50 min. to downtown Sedona (35 minutes. to top of Oak Creek where West Fork hiking trail is located). Only 20 minutes to the town of Williams, where you can catch the train to the Grand Canyon or for the Polar Express (winter season)!

It is the perfect family open with an open floor plan. Great for two or three couples with a couple of kiddos. If you have more people, consider renting our Guesthouse too, VRBO 840085 that is perfect for another couple.

The house is cleaned with a CHEMICAL FREE cleaning NORWEX products. http://louisacurley.norwex.biz/....This is a NON SMOKING home; however, there is a designated smoking area. Certain times of the year, there is NO smoking on the premises due to extreme fire danger. One would have to smoke in their car. Please inquire.

You will feel rested and recharged after staying here! Mountain views from every window including the master shower, and plenty of windows and natural light.

The floor plan in the house is open - a large kitchen with a six-person farm table. We also have a card table with four chairs. It is very bright and sunny. Yes, we have internet and satellite TV!

The min age of age to rent the property is 25-years old.

Max. occupancy is eight; however, inquire for more. If you are looking for more space, inquire about my guesthouse availability (VRBO 840085) or my neighbor's VRBO house, for Large Family get togethers!

The great room has an antique yet very efficient wood-burning stove; you'll be plenty warm enough!

The master bedroom has French doors that lead out to a separate deck for privacy. The master bath has a large claw-foot cast iron tub, with a separate shower (views of the mountain from the shower too!)

The second bedroom has a king bed OR two twins.

The sunroom has a queen hide a bed with memory foam. We also have a full size hide-a-bed with a memory foam. We have privacy screens to create a separate space in the sunroom. Two cots and sleeping bags are available for the kiddos.

We also have a pack-n-play and a high chair. The master closet is often used as a bedroom for a baby.

Well-behaved dogs and horses by permission only; extra charge. Extra charge and deposit required. We have a fenced kennel.

Dogs are $50/DOgs are not allowed on furniture. Evidence of so will result in extra cleaning fee or loss of deposit. Dogs are never to be left alone in the house. Evidence of so will result in extra cleaning fee. I do require purchase of property damage insurance also for pets. ($59)

Located four miles north of interstate 40, on a paved road, with year-round access.

House is located on a paved road that is plowed first thing in the morning in winter. In winter, we suggest, but is not necessary, for a four wheel or all-wheel drive vehicles.

FOUR Seasons: We are located at 7,300 ft. We have snowy winters normally although the last few years have been mild with spurts of storms and great hiking weather in between. The summers are high 70's-mid 80's with monsoons in the afternoon. Night temps drop into the 50's. Fall is fantastic, low 70's with temperatures dropping at night. The trees start to turn and it is a secret getaway for fall colors!

The kitchen is open and very large with a wrap-around porch and large BBQ. It is well stocked with gourmet kitchen utensils. We even have staples: flour, sugar, spices etc.

The laundry room is available for stays 7 days or more only.

This is an energy saving house, it requires being mindful of water, as we haul water. If you would like to bring your own linens, please let me know.

The deposit depends on how many are staying, and if there are pets or not, please inquire.

ARIZONA SNOWBOWL - ONE OF THE OLDEST, CONTINUALLY RUN SKI AREAS IN THE U.S.

Located on the majestic San Francisco Peaks, the Arizona Snowbowl lies 14 miles outside of Flagstaff, 2 hours from Phoenix, and 70 miles from the Grand Canyon. The resort opened in 1938 and operates from 9 AM to 4 PM daily.

What makes this house unique

The best part about East of the Sun, are the views. Watching the sunrise, moonrise, and sunsets are fantastic! A common statement from our guest's is, ''your photos don't do our house/property justice."

The wildlife here is equally as grand. On any given day you may see elk, antelope, eagles, blue herons, hawk, coyotes, and fox.

Because it adjoins forest service land you can cross country ski, snowmobile, or hike right off the property.

If you have a portable stall, you may bring your horse!

LOVE this place!! You will never want to leave. It's the perfect place to stay if you want to explore Arizona because you are literally in between all the action. Louisa goes above and beyond for all the guests. She is the perfect host! The place is spacious with beautiful decor. The views are beautiful-especially at night. I's super cozy and comfortable and the perfect getaway, anniversary, or any special occasion. We'll definitely be back in the near future.

Finding Solace Somewhere East of the Sun and West of the Moon

If you are looking for a thoughtfully prepared vacation rental that looks to put you into nature with the creature comforts you enjoy, this is the place to go in the Flagstaff area. The views are impressive. The owner is readily accessible and helpful. There are many nice attributes to the house that I would just as soon you discover on your own.

The kitchen is well stocked as advertised. I have a pet peeve of arriving to a vacation home with zero seasonings, etc. That was not the case here. Just an incredible value all around.

The setting is majestic and natural. Even in August, we were able to keep the place cool by following the owner's instructions. In fact, my wife and my mother had to use blankets for most of the day to stay warm as they remained cozy in their respective chairs reading the days away.

From this location, you are about 20-25 minutes into Flagstaff or Williams. Both have good dining choices. The road into and out of the valley passes by a school and the speed limit really slows things down, but you are on vacation, so what difference does it make??

Stargazers equipped with their gear will find this a great place to study the heavens as there is little light pollution. A variety of birds flitted around in an area that I was not expecting to see so many winged warriors.

Daytime heating and moisture from the Pacific combined to provide beautiful thundershowers that were enjoyable from the oversized living room window.

You do need to be advised that the internet is extremely slow which is compounded by the cell signal that apparently is even slower. When we inquired at a local gas station about the cellular broadband signal, apparently local politics prevented a new tower being installed in the area.

Spectacular, as always

We had another wonderful trip to Parks. The house has all the amenities to make the stay comfortable, as well as a location that can't be beat. The scenery is beautiful - and it is close enough to Flagstaff that you can jump over if you want to get dinner, shopping, whatever. We recommend this home to anyone looking to get away.

Our family absolutely loved the house and location! The house was very spacious and we had everything we needed to eat in for our meals which is very important to us. The location was very private and peaceful. We enjoyed the sunrise each morning and the quite evening walks at night. We were able to visit the town of Williams, the Grand Canyon, and Sedona while we were there. Louisa was an excellent help with all her tips and recommendations. She responds quickly to any need you might have. We highly recommend her place to anyone and hope to visit again ourselves.

A wonderful, peaceful home away from home

We spent a wonderful long weekend at East of the Sun. Louisa is a great host and we had excellent communication with her. The place itself is a Home away from home, clean, comfortable, welcoming - with all the items you need for an easy and relaxing stay. It's also extremely spacious and well laid out. The location is great and we enjoyed most mornings and evenings sat on the deck enjoying the views and watching the wildlife. It was easy to get to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Flagstaff and Williams as part of our stay. We had a wonderful time. Thanks Louisa!

Peaceful cabin retreat

From the moment we arrived, we felt our stress melt away! This is the 6th VRBO we have rented, and BY FAR the best stocked kitchen and bath of any of them. This home is conveniently located near Williams, Flagstaff, Sedona, and the Grand Canyon . We had the pleasant surprise of Louisa staying in the guest house for a portion of the week. This was the first time we had the owner next door, and it worked well to get suggestions for day trips and restaurants. We HIGHLY recommend this home for your Arizona adventures!
