Mel purchased this Apartment in 2002
Why Mel chose Park Slope
Conveniently located in the center of Park Slope, the apartment is near many great restaurants, bars and local shops, and 2 different subway stations. Park Slope is a vibrant family neighborhood, populated by both longtime residents and more recent transplants. It's a real community where people know each other and help each other out, and is a great place to come home to after a day or a night out in Manhattan. The house was built in 1903 and retains most of its original features.

Great 2 bedroom apartment in Brooklyn
Stayed over Thanksgiving 11/19-11/23, great 2 bedroom apartment in Park Slope. Took our 8 year old on a trip to NY. Apartment was clean and very spacious and there was plenty of room to spread out, very comfortable beds and all the amenties you need. WiFi worked great and had no issues during the stay. Mel was a great host and was very accommodating, letting us leave our luggage at the apartment early and also checked in with us daily, even helping with some supplies when our son had a splinter in his foot. Apartment was maybe a few blocks from the subway and there were plenty of dining options around. We did not use the backyard but it looks like it would be a great place to have a coffee in the morning or relax in the evening. I’d definitely recommend this property to anyone looking, you will not be disappointed. Thanks again Mel for making our sons trip to NY memorable!
Spacious and quiet
Only one reservation about the property, which was the small bathroom. Otherwise a very good location.
Lovely little apartment really well located in Park Slope.
We were very happy here for five days in Mel’s place and pretty comfortable. We know PS pretty well, and this is an ideal location for both Brooklyn stuff and very easy to get over to Manhattan.
Apartment has most things you would need and with two adults and two kids 8&10, we had just enough space.
I would say that our only complaint is the bandwidth on the WiFi which is pretty weak and not great in fact. With kids and given that most things are easier with the internet today, it would be an easy improvement to make.
The lack of a proper kitchen was a bit odd, but the cooking facilities are adequate without being outstanding.
Overall though, a great spot to spend a few days in and a lovely little apartment with lots of character and classic brownstone features.
Had a terrific stay. Mel is a great and attentive host, check in was easy. Beautiful neighborhood. Some mosquitos the first night I stayed but the host thoughtfully provided OFF spray. Highly recommend!
Charming Park Slope Garden apartment
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mel's garden apartment. The space was roomy and comfortable, full of wonderful historic Brooklyn photos. The kitchen was perfect for breakfast/lunch/cocktail hour, leading out to the beautiful garden. The master bedroom was extremely comfortable, incl a library of classic DVDs. Most importantly, Mel's place was ideally located on a beautiful street of Park Slope, leading us to wonderful pubs, restaurants, wine shops and the peaceful Prospect Park. Let Mel's garden apartment begin your "Park Slope" experience! (3 great dining spots: Stone Park Cafe, Talde and Sofreh!)
Great home base in a great neighborhood
We really enjoyed our stay at Mel's home! The place is perfect for people who plan to be out and about most of the time but want a cozy place to come home to at the end of a busy nyc day. Thanks for Mel for being such a great host!
