Great place for ski retreat
Cindy is the best VRBO host I've met so far. She's ready to response your calls or texts 24/7. The house located on the nice location, easy to excess even in Winter time, and close to many activities. The hot tub is the best after skiing trip at Blue Knob. My family has a great memory here and we will definitely go back again.
clean, and very comfortable. would stay again
What a great place to kick back and relax. We found the cottage to be clean, the beds comfortable and overall everything that was stated in the ad was accurate. Cindy could not have been nicer. We enjoyed fishing, (although we didn't catch anything, no ones fault but our own!) kayaking, using the hot tub, sitting in front of an outside fireplace and cooking out. It was the perfect getaway. Thanks Cindy.
a very comfortable, clean home
This was our third or fourth stay here so that tells you that we enjoy this place a lot. The home is always very clean and well maintained. We experienced a bit of rain for our stay so it was nice that we had a comfortable home to stay in during the inclement weather.
My only concern is that it's getting a little pricey. The cleaning fees went up since our last stay and it pushed us to the high end of our budget. With all of the other offers out there, it needs to be competitive.
Relaxing, beautiful, clean, scenic
The River Front cottage is an ideal place for those looking to enjoy nature and escape reality for a bit! We had a wonderful time sitting on the front porch and watching the river. The cottage provided all necessities and enjoyable bonuses too. The new hot tub was also a huge plus! Thank you Ted and Cindy for being such great hosts.
Cabin on the river
Nice location we were a little disappointed that we can only kayak about a half mile each direction from the cabin. Also the cabin could use a good deep down cleaning. The owner was very nice and always available.
We appreciate your feedback and private clarification. Many guests and locals kayak throughout the county. Unless you are familiar with the river, know how to read it, and are an experienced kayaker, for obvious reasons, we recommend staying close to the property. You can stay close, or venture out, ultimately it's your choice.
I was glad to hear your cleaning concern pertained to a few cobwebs which easily develop, both inside and outside, and some dust along part of the carpet baseboard. We take great pride in its overall cleanliness and always strive to improve.
Thank you for staying at the Riverfront Cottage.
Perfect size cottage for a weekend with a few friends
Cindy’s place was perfect! The cozy three-bedroom cottage had everything we needed for the weekend, and we never had to leave! The hot tub was relaxing and the kayaks she had available made for a great time on the river. The cottage is a little outdated, but it definitely adds to the charm. We had no cellular service, but had Wi-Fi in the house if we needed it. Nobody touched their phones all weekend. The firewood is stored in an uncovered area, so the logs were too wet for us to start a fire. I recommend, if it has been raining before your trip, bring your own firewood.Cindy was even gracious enough to stop by before we checked in and drop off some paper towels. Cindy was very responsive, and super helpful! I definitely recommend her place for our weekend getaway, and if I ever visit Bedford again, I will definitely stay here! Thank you so much for all your help, Cindy!
Thank you for staying at the Riverfront Cottage and for your detailed review. Sorry about any inconvenience. For future guests, Verizon wireless usually works perfectly, and other major providers work quite well. Also the firewood is purposely exposed; fire starters almost always guarantee a fire.
The Riverfront Cottage is located along the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River. The cottage is within minutes of
historic downtown Bedford, shopping, restaurants, antique shops, and Shawnee State Park. Close to ski resorts and other attractions.
