Clean, open, easy access to beach. Private pool ... great dock on bayside!! Very secluded.
Amazing time! Perfect getaway. All rooms on same floor. Far enough from the center of Captiva. Owners home is on same lot...very kind and let us have our privacy.
The pool is secluded by natural fauna, beautiful... kitchen has all needed items ... will be back next year .... definitely!!!
We had a great time! There were 5 adults and one infant and there was plenty of room. The access to the beach was perfect as we were back and forth from the the beach to the house with the little one. Having the pool out back was perfect too. The views off the dock were amazing. We saw many sunsets on the beach and as many other reviews said, it feels like a private beach. We definitely recommend this house to anyone and look forward to a trip back! The owners were super helpful & friendly and great hosts. They made it very easy and the house was equipped with everything we could need.
It is hard to argue with a beautiful beach and a wonderful dock for fishing
Just a lovely place. Across the road and to your right about 10 steps is a beautiful path to the beach. The beach is almost always deserted. The sand is very soft and great for building castles, but not great for walking. I can't say enough about the dock. It looks like you are looking at a nature preserve. When the tide is out there are so many birds, and resident dolphins that are always there. The pool is great-sun if you want it, or shade if you prefer. 85 degrees, I loved just walking the driveway-so many beautiful plants. Feels like you are in a jungle. The house is good. Small porch with a table. Fine kitchen-nice size living room. Three bedrooms-one king, two queens
Magical place for a relaxing family vacation
Despite cooler than normal temps we had a wonderful time. The house exceeded our expectations and was fantastic for our kids (3 years and 7 months). The extensive train set and excellent fishing (and catching!) from the dock allowed us to enjoy even the coolest of days. The weather turned beautiful for the final few days of our stay and we were able to enjoy all the property and island have to offer. The access to the beach was exceptional and the pool was a perfect place to relax while the kids were napping. Nothing cooler than seeing dolphins, pelicans and bald eagles all from the same dock. There was even power at the pool for a baby monitor! Barbecues on the porch and easy access to great restaurants in Captiva and Sanibel made for a stress-free week of meal planning. We highly recommend the place and will definitely be back! Thanks to our hosts for their hospitality and fishing assistance.
A perfect stay
Occasionally one comes across a spot where upon arrival you know this is one of those “special places”, and for us this is one. Just over the Blind Pass bridge from Sanibel into Captiva, the property is quiet, beautifully landscaped well decorated, roomy, and is equipt with everything needed for a wonderful stay. The dog friendly beach is a short walk away and feels like your own, the pool is lovely and the dock may be one of the best fishing spots on the island. The owners Margarethe and Rene, could not be warmer or more hospitable. We enjoyed dining at the local restaurants as well as cooking in their well equipt kitchen, shopping at the farmer’s market, observing spoonbills at Ding Darling NaturePreserve, shell hunting, fishing, kayaking in the mangroves, or simply relaxing with our family on the beach. This will remain one of our best vacations and we look forward to returning.
Great family vacation!
Overall this was an awesome vacation! Private pool was great for the family and enjoyed the day in the sun if you didn’t want to go to the beach. However, the beach was phenomenal and private!! Caught breathtaking sunsets in the sand and sunrises on the dock. Such an amazing experience and the family all enjoyed it. Can’t say enough great things. The owners were incredibly nice and were extremely inviting! Would recommend this to anyone!
