What makes this chalet unique

There is so much to do at the home such as kayaking, paddleboating or rowboating as all these boats are located on your own private sandy beach along with a swim platform or you can relax on the deck in your outdoor hot tub which is usable all year 'round or you can

take the kids to the pool just down the road, walking distance. You can also rent a pontoon on the big lake which is just across the road from chalet. You can view the bigger lake also from the deck. Breathtaking sunsets also. Watch the eagles which live on the lake along with loon, woodpeckers, swans, hummingbirds, you name it! I've even seen owls.

great girls getaway

  • 5 of 5

It was the perfect place for a quiet getaway! The house is very open and spacious!

The deck has an amazaing view and the hot tub just added that extra flare.

We went into Gaylord to do some shopping and the drive was only 15 minutes, maybe.

The colors were beautiful too!

Great place. Loved our stay. We were never bored and the fishing was a blast. Nice neighborhood with pretty good amenities. Parking was the only tough thing but we managed very well. Would definately rent again!

Owner's Response: You definately will not get bored at the Bear's Den as everyone loves staying at this home. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and you can walk to the Association Pool and enjoy the park area w/pavilion. There actually is plenty of room to Park for 3 vehicles but when you add two motor boats kept on trailers with 3 pickups all kept in driveway at the same time can be quite challenging for any lakefront home but yes, they did manage and did a good job at it!

Wonderful, relaxing vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Bear's Den. The house was clean and comfortable with a great view of the lake. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boat and row boat - felt as if the lake was our own. We never saw anyone else on it! It was very peaceful and relaxing to spend time on the water and dock. The hot tub was an added bonus after a day of traveling and sightseeing. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and I loved that the light switches were labeled! Very nice. Dorene was very prompt to reply to emails and made the entire process a breeze. We hope to return someday.

AMAZING INSIDE, AMAZING OUTSIDE!!!

  • 5 of 5

It's hard to say what we enjoyed most. I don't think we've ever taken a vacation where we didn't get bored and go into town. We did not leave this property once (except for getting groceries). We loved enjoying a cup of coffee each morning on the deck and just admiring the breathtaking view. We loved going out on the lake with the boats provided. We loved grilling out almost every day. We loved relaxing in the hot tub. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace, playing pool and playing cards. The list goes on and on.

Our group consisted of a family of five and two dogs. My parents also came for a couple of days.

Our youngest is autistic and he becomes very stressed whenever he leaves our house. One of the great things about this place was there was so much room that he could find a quiet place to be alone when he became stressed.

My middle son thoroughly enjoys bird watching. He was able to get out and walk around the lake many times and find birds that he had not seen before.

Our oldest has severe asthma. We tried renting cottages twice before and each time my oldest ended up in the ER due to mold and uncleanliness of properties. Therefore I must mention the cleanliness; the den is immaculate. We had no medical emergencies.

The owners were wonderful too. They were very quick to return answers to questions that came up. They do a great job of making it easy on renters and ensuring that they have everything they need.

This vacation, this rental provided me with priceless, precious moments that will stay with me forever. I have so many memories to look back on. One of my favorites was watching my autistic son take his elderly Grandpa for a rowboat ride.

It truly is an amazing place. You may be stressed when you go there, but you will leave with a relaxation that will last long after you get home. That is what it did for us.

We would come back each summer if we could afford it. We would recommend this place to everyone. It is well worth the price. If you are athletic or not, it's perfect. If you need a place with lots of room, it's perfect. If you enjoy nature or if you enjoy staying inside, it's perfect.

I hope that one day we will be able to go back there.

Thank you so much for providing such a perfect place for everyone.
