I grew up in upstate NY and spend my summers vacationing at Schroon Lake.
The Owner purchased this chalet in 2007
Schroon Lake has always been my favorite place to vacation from childhood through adulthood. It has all the beauty of Lake George without the crowds. You can boat to the Town of Schroon for lunch or shopping, and it's so close to Lake George and Gore Mountain and so many other Adirondack attractions! It's where I plan to spend my retirement, and until that time I will share my home with those who also enjoy the beauty of the Adirondacks!
The view of the lake and the mountains is the best part! The basement family room gives the kids a place to play and watch movies while the adults socialize upstairs.
We had an amazing stay at this Schroon Lake home in mid-August. There were 5 of us staying in this spacious home, where we all had our own corner to retreat to as well as a beautiful, open space between the kitchen, dining area and living room to share, not to mention the deck big enough for two separate tables where we enjoyed breakfast while look out over the Lake. The town of Schroon Lake is pleasant and quiet but with a large grocery store as well as several eateries. The town beach is a sandy spot for young and old alike to enjoy the water and the view of the length of the Lake. We highly recommend Sticks and Stones restaurant as well as the Paradox Brewery down the road. This home is in close proximity to the Natural Stone Bridge and Caves where we spent a great day out in nature. It's also within a 30 min. drive to Fort Ticonderoga as well as an hour's drive to Lake Placid and the Adirondack Museum, all of which made for fun day trips. The home itself is well maintained and very clean, with very friendly people living locally who handle the maintenance and cleaning, who can be quickly and easily contacted if any issues come up (though none did while we were there). We cannot say enough wonderful things about this home and it's owner, who was regularly in contact with us all the way through the time of our rental and gave us all the information we needed to have a magnificent summer vacation stay!
Everything was perfect , owner very cooperative, home is very spacious. All had a great time.
This beautiful, clean, comfortable chalet was perfect for our family reunion with its generous open gathering spaces and ample sleeping areas. We lacked nothing during our stay and even met the owner as she delivered a new grill to the property. She couldn't have been more helpful or responsive to my many questions and emails prior to our first-time stay. I recommend the property to anyone as you won't find a more confortable living space for vacation. By renting the adjoining cottage we were able to accommodate our large family for our reunion.
One word... Magnificent.
Watch the lake come to life in the morning from the deck or watch a lighting storm roll in while your looking through the massive windows. Just magnificent.
Great home in great condition!
Great location to launch day trips into other areas of the Adirondacks too.
I rented this house, and the other house right in front of it, for a somewhat family reunion. Everyone loved this house (the other house is also nice, but has more of a cabin feel to it). I think the best part of this house is he deck, and the kitchen. The kitched has everything you will need, and the deck looks out at the lake, and has plenty of room for everyone to be out there. Everything else in the house seems to be new, and it just has a relaxing feel to it.
The owner (Colleen) was really great to deal with. I had a lot of questions before, and during the weekend, and she got back to me very quickly every time I emailed her.
There is a small waterfront area in front of the house (maybe 200 feet away?). During our stay the water level was extremely high, and the beach area and the dock were both underwater. It was kind of a bummer the water was so high, but we were still able to go in the water, and still had a great weekend hanging out on the deck.
I would absolutely recommend this house if you are looking for: really nice house, lake views, and an owner that is very attentive.
My family had a grand time at the "Three Bears" House. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us with beds and space to spare. We loved the open floor plan with the kitchen, living room and dining area all together. The kitchen was well equipped and huge and many people could work in it at one time. The deck overlooking the lake was great and we used it a lot especially for lunch and after dinner. The loft was used for game and one boy decided to sleep there so he could watch the sun come up. My daughter was out on the lake in the canoe early every morning and loved the peace. I would be happy to recommend this house to anyone
