Views of Invalides! 1 Bedroom In 7th DistrictI

Bedrooms 1
Space 365 sq. ft.
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

1 Bedroom/1 Bath - Sleeps Up To 4

Sure to please all visitors to Paris, this recently renovated one bedroom apartment in the heart of the sought-after 7th Arrondissement has a very ‘open’ feeling, with wide open ‘blue sky’ views… Just a glance to the side out the windows allows you to look upon the fabulous golden dome of “Les Invalides” that is the final resting place of Napoleon and site of a large War Museum. Off in the distance you can even see the famous Montmartre Basilica. You can’t miss this at night as it lights up the sky!

This beautiful Parisian holiday rental apartment is on the 4th European floor with an elevator that stops in between each floor so you have only a few steps each time in or out. The rental is 34 m2 in size (@370 ft2) and has a queen size bed plus a double size sofa bed in the living room for up to 4 adults. The owners have lovingly renovated everything from new floors, to appliances to all furnishings. Rich decorator colors, together with a modern style, provide a very comfortable and quiet place to return to at the end of each day. This area is very much worth exploring, with the large green expanse in front of your place that runs along a long avenue, good for picnics or just people watching! You also have the rue Cler area with its permanent open market only 10 minutes away, plus the Rodin Museum only 5 minute walk. Also, Parc Champs de Mars with the Eiffel Tower is just about a 10 minute walk from here.

Even though there are so many interesting things close by to the apartment, exploring the rest of Paris is as easy as stepping out of the apartment and catching #92 bus that goes directly to Ecole Militaire, Champs de Mars, or Avenue des Champs Élysées which is just 10 minutes by bus. The #82 bus going directly to Luxembourg Gardens in the heart of Saint Germain des Prés area in one direction and to the Eiffel Tower in the other. Because of the importance of this location, the Paris Open Tour bus - a tour bus that covers the important sites of Paris with it's open upper decks - stops just steps from the apartment.

The apartment 'house book' will fill you in on the ‘little known’ avenue de Saxe Farmers Market, which is set up twice per week and is just a few minutes away. It will guide you to great bakeries and restaurants. In fact, there is one in your building itself - around the back with no noise - which has a lovely outside terrace with a direct view on the golden dome. More than just a burial place, the Invalides has many attractions to visit; it was built by the 'Sun King' Louis 14th who also built most of Versailles. The original purpose of Invalides was to pay homage to the wounded in the French War and today in fact, it still functions in part as a hospital to care for many elderly and handicapped veterans. It has beautiful gardens, a war themed church, plus an incredible museum for most wars France has fought in, set up in chronological order.

This fine apartment features all new furnishings, with very comfortable beds. The bathroom is located off the bedroom and has a large shower with a sink and the WC. The kitchen features an oven & stove, microwave, full size refrigerator/freezer (220 liter total size - about 8ft) and a couple of bar stools to use at a small countertop. There is also a dining table for up to 4 people. A combo washer/dryer unit in the bathroom is also available for your convenience. The sofa is the pullout type, yet quite comfortable and is double size for 2 adults. Little extras like an alarm clock with iPod dock and a complimentary bottle of wine…are all provided.

Whether you visit Napoleon’s final resting place or not, you will certainly think that both this great area and this great cozy apartment is fit for a Emperor…!

Guestbook comments from the manager

I cannot tell you how much we loved this apt. Great neighborhood, safe, quiet. Beautiful apartment, lovely view. If I ever return to paris I am most definitely renting this apt again!!!!! The bathroom was awesome!! Bed super comfy, kitchen was adorable. Can't say enough good things about this place.

Will recommend your company to anyone I know that is planning a vacation to Paris!!

Oh and the key was tricky the first time, you may want to add in the info to keep "turning counterclockwise several times" before it will open.

Great Apartment

  • 5 of 5

We heartily recommend the apartment. We lived in Paris for four years, almost twenty years ago, and ever since, whenever we are there for more than just a few days, prefer to rent one, especially in the Seventh, and "pretend" we are living there once again. This was the first time we have rented one from Vacation in Paris and everything went very smoothly, I suspect we have stayed in seven or eight different apartments, from three other agencies, and we have always had a good experience, although one apartment was very dark and we would not recommend it.

Vacation in Paris sent us the key prior to departureG. Knowing we would arrive early in the day and occupancy was after noon, we rented it for the previous night, too so we took a taxi from CD and found the apartment ready for us and we could take a few hours nap. We had trouble with the tv/cable one evening and had to call the local contact who was able to talk us through re-establishing service over the phone. We had no other problems in the week.

The location is great, a few blocks from the l'École Militaire metro stop and very close to some handy bus stops - the 82 and 92, I think. The apartment really does look out over Napoleon's tomb and a lovely park and street. It is furnished in a contemporary style, somewhat severe but comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for the two of us but small. We ate breakfast there and brought take out for dinner two or three nights. There is a washer/dryer in the bath but we did not use it. The bed was very comfortable - we like a firm mattress. There is a bakery close by that has excellent pastries! The restaurant on the ground floor is quite good, much more than just a cafe. The apartment would be crowded - at least for us - if more than two were staying there, although the sofa would sleep two additional people.

And we are returning next month, to the same apartment.

Great Location; Great Amenities; Great Service

  • 5 of 5

Clean and cozy space. We were two adults and two teenagers and stayed for one week. Nice kitchen, with everything we needed. Equal distance to two separate Metro lines, easy walk to Eiffel Tower. Great bathroom amenities as well. Did not use the washer/dryer as was not to be used at night or on Sunday, and we were out nearly all day each day. Elevator was handy in getting luggage upstairs, but usually walked the stairs to burn off extra calories. Nice restaurant downstairs in building. View of Invalides was gorgeous. Enjoyed the grassy esplanade outside the windows, felt a part of the active neighborhood energy. No complaints, it was exactly what we needed. Planning our next trip already, and will request this apartment again. Keys and instructions sent in advance, a worry-free stay.

San Francisco Area

Best Rental In Paris Easiest folks to do business with.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is completely as described. Like any apartment in Paris, be prepared for small compact and efficient use of space. Always a good idea to bring a flashlight. The location is idyllic. Try the "parkway" on the Avenue de Breteuil for a picnic. It is also the quickest way to the metro (Saint Francois Xavier line 13). Our fourth time dealing with VIP, and they have always delivered. This was the best apartment we have rented through them. Great location, fully equipped, clean, quiet, (loved the motorized shades. If you want to rent a car for day trips, there is an Avis location less than a block away.

We were two folks who stayed there. Would I stay there with three or four? Personnally I would look for something larger, but that is just me.

Last bit of advice. Book it fast.
