We are Larry, Laura and Selleck Watren and live in Lake Mary, Florida. It was love at first sight when we drove through Beech Mountain last December. The snow was spectacular hanging on the huge evergreen trees, it was like a winter wonderland. I couldn't stop taking pictures, one scene was better than the next. Soon we found ourself at the real estate office looking at properties, I guess the rest is history. Just when I thought, things couldn't get any prettier than that, FALL came and whew, now I think that's my favorite time up there. Anytime, any season, you will thoroughly enjoy this beautiful place called Beech Mountain.
Laura Watren purchased this cabin in 2010
Beech mountain is so gorgeous with so many things to do. Each season offers various activities. We love to hike, ski, boat, motorcycle, and here you can do it all.
I wanted to let you know that we enjoyed our stay on your beautiful property. It felt like our own private retreat. We made it to a couple of wineries, the Grandfather Mountain State Park, shops in Blowing Rock, and several tasty area restaurants. It was a wonderful anniversary celebration, and we hope to return next year. Thanks for allowing us to reschedule our dates. We really appreciate it!

This cabin was spacious, clean, and in a great location! It is well-designed for families to share living space. It very comfortably sleeps 12, and the kids can be entertained for hours in the lowest level. The showers had great water pressure, and the linens were crisp and clean. It was easy to find and was close to skiing, restaurants, the grocery store, and the quaint town of Banner Elk. The owners are the nicest people you'll ever meet.
Wow what a great cabin. Just wanted to let you know that we had such a great time and that this was one of the best vacations ever! Your home was tastefully decorated ,very clean, and was perfect for our family. We are definitely recommending your beautiful place and will be back.
Thank you so much Laura for sharing your home with our family. We appreciate all the help and information you provided in order for us to plan our trip. We felt right at home the moment we walked in the door. The home was spacious enough to accommodate our entire family comfortably whether we wanted to be together as a family or we wanted quiet time alone. The view was breathtaking and we were lucky to get snow during our trip.
If you're looking for serenity and quiet -- this is your place! And plenty of room to spread out, comfy beds to rest up in, and even some fun distractions to keep the fun going when you get off the hill (like pool, air hockey, etc.)!
Had a great time in the area and this was the perfect home base for a long weekend in the NC mountains!
Thank you, Laura, for your splendid HUGE cabin. You were extremely helpful as we approached our rental time, and all aspects of the cabin, warmth, cleanliness, and available activities were accurate and appreciated by our family. Not much snow during our particular time, but that's unpredictable. Good man-made snow on Beech and Sugar Mountain, so some folks could have enjoyed the winter sports, however, we were having too much fun playing board games, cooking, watching movies and relaxing.
The hot tub was a big hit with the 20-somethings and parents. The sleeping accommodations were perfect for some folks who wanted to sleep downstairs, and others who wanted sleep upstairs. Also, your cabin is close enough that we enjoyed jaunts into Beech, Banner Elk, and even an afternoon trip to King Street in Boone to stroll on the artwalk and other stores.
The cabin directions were easy to follow and closing the cabin was a fun group effort.
We look forward to renting your cabin again, and we have recommended it to friends and family. Sincerely, Laura
It was a beautiful cabin in a VERY quiet area (which is exactly "what the Dr. ordered"). We enjoyed the amenities and the nicely decorated living space. Very cozy & comfy for our party of 6!! We would definitely recommend this cabin to others!!
