When we first arrived at the property, the driveway was covered with snow and ice from a recent snowfall. My husband and I were pretty upset that we not only had to shovel the driveway after a 2 hour drive, but also their entire long walkway down to the house. Once we were in the house, we noted that there was a strong air freshener smell which was nice. However, after being in the house for 5 minutes, it became evident that the air freshener was masking a moldy, old-house smell. The amenities were ok, though there is no upstairs bathroom (the check-in sheet says there is), and we noticed dust on top of the (short) refrigerator. Besides that, we enjoyed the sauna and the couch in the living room was deceptively large. Worth noting was the weird, painted handprints in the upstairs bedroom as they were certainly unexpected and a little creepy. Overall, this house did the job and the owner was very friendly. I suspect it's a great spot to be in the summer, with a pool and on the lake. However, we won't be returning to this house.

Fun place to stay
it was a nice place to rest after busy days touring the area.
Could have been cleaner and the kitchen better stocked. Enjoyed the deck.
I'm all about quaint and charming. But dirty and run down? No thanks. Several light bulbs were out, the kitchen was a mess ( we had to clean everything before we could use it). Found a used bar of soap in the shower, everything was dusty. On the positive, the deck was a nice spot to enjoy coffee and the location was ideal for our visit. It had a nice gas 5 burner stove with double oven. Our first day there we saw two deer run across the back yard and enjoyed a visit from a chipmunk. My 7 year old had a blast with video game and soccer table. That was pretty cool. You should be aware that there is no bathroom upstairs. The toilet in the basement bath can only be used as a urinal. Also, upstairs bed is impossible to sleep in. It rattles everytime you move. The kitchen could use more dishes and towels and a full size garbage can. There was only a small one. We made the most of our stay since we came a very long way. I wasn't expecting it to be opulent. But I did expect it to be clean and well stocked.
Hi Leita, Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay, and very sorry that the home’s cleanliness was not satisfactory. We take cleanliness very seriously – it’s one of our 4 Core Property Standards! The homeowner has spoken with their cleaning company to resolve the issues you experienced. We also encourage our guests to reach out to their Guest Contact for issues like broken light bulbs – we strive to resolve any problems guests have while in residence, but cannot resolve problems we are unaware of. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review, and we look forward to hosting you again in the future! Best, The Evolve Team
We were happy with the property for the price
We really enjoyed the property and the idea of a lake house. We were very impressed with the kindness of the owner when we left an iPad behind, we thought it might be lost forever but all it took was a quick text to the owner, they spoke with the cleaning team, and our iPad was in the mail within a couple of days! So glad there's still honest people.
The house is fun for a family specially with kids
We really enjoying staying there.
I hope I can stay again in two years
Perfect relaxing week end
It was a really nice and relaxing week end. All the instructions were clear to access the house and we were allowed to check in earlier.
The house itself was clean. We had towels and basic kitchen tools.
We enjoyed the pool and the bbq all week end. Sauna was really clean also.
Finally, the canoe on the lake was the final touch for a perfect week end. We were also able to check out later.
Thank you again for this relaxing moment !
