This mini-castle with European charm and sensibilities is located in Pacific Palisades. It is an incredibly comfortable spectacular ocean view house with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and sleeps 6 in luxury. Exceptional California warmth for entertaining intimate groups or just relaxing and enjoying the California lifestyle. Two large front balconies overlook the ocean. The rear-garden patio affords bucolic privacy. There is extensive landscaping all around. The interior is filled with art and fine furnishings. The fully equiped gourmet kitchen is the focal point of the main floor. There is a grand piano for your enjoyment in the living room.
Entire upper floor is a Master suite, with spa tub, balcony with ocean view, and separate library. This Villa is a beautiful and comfortable vacation spot in West Los Angeles. It is only available for a MINIMUM ONE MONTH stay or more.
We are both involved in cinema. We are interested in art, literature, history, fine food and wine and travel.
Our home is situated in one of the most pristine, safe and desirable areas of Southern California.
Our house is extremely comfortable, pleasing to the eye and it is wonderful antidote to the cold of winter or oppressive heat of summer.
If you have small children, one of our neighbors has a fantastic swim school on her property.
We spent 1 month is this magnificent home! The location & views are incredible and if you love to cook, the kitchen is perfect. The house has lots of space (we have 4 kids!) and the owners had everything clearly listed with helpful guides & instructions. We would definitely rent the house again and would highly recommend it!
This magnificent home is truly one-of-a kind. From the two ocean facing terraces to the lush gardens surrounding "the secret path" in the back of the property, the place is magical. If you like to cook, this is the house for you. Complete with a chef's kitchen, this home has every amenity. It is accurately described on VRBO, and if anything the description does not do it justice. This home is immaculate and everything is of the highest quality. We were just a few driving blocks to the beach, and just as close to Palisades Village. We were able to frequent three different Farmer's markets from this location (Wed, Sat, Sun) because the house is situated perfectly between Malibu and Santa Monica (and the one n the Palisades Village was probably the best). The Owner was "right on it" with any questions we had and went out of her way to introduce us to several babysitters and a fabulous swim teacher for our 3-year old. The Palisades Village has a great park at the recreation center for kids, and the library in the Village was good for our daughter also. There are many restaurants in the Village and Santa Monica that were excellent, in addition to several on directly on the ocean. We loved the restaurants but enjoyed cooking at the house more, because of the kitchen, outdoor area, and grill. We HIGHLY recommend this home.
We rented this home for two months over the winter and it was fantastic. The home sits on a hill with a view of the ocean at morning light and city lights at night. As we walked in and out each day, the scent of the flowers from the large garden in front was an unexpected delight. The garden and patio in the back are also special with orchids in bloom throughout our stay and a great variety of other flowers and plants, with the sound of bubbling water at all times in the stone planter. The library of art books throughout the house provided a never ending source of interest and the EXTENSIVE movie/DVD collection was really appreciated. The kitchen is large and set up for people who enjoy cooking and entertaining. The bedrooms were all comfortable and the upstairs master bedroom and master library both had a connecting large patio overlooking the ocean, which we really used and enjoyed. This was a real home away from home. We would definitely come back.
We stayed in this house over Christmas with 2 other family members and loved it. The views over the Pacific are spectacular- and I live in the south of France-overlooking the Mediterranean, so I know what I'm saying! The kitchen is great and we did a lot of cooking and entertaining and it was all very convenient. The decoration is amazing- not surprising as the owners are in the film industry- we loved the big dining/ living area, the beautiful little back garden and the large terraces- off of dining area and the whole length of master suite. The master suite is really exceptional- aside from the large bedroom (with great bed) there is a beautiful bathroom- 2 sinks, tub and separate shower and wc- all with views of the Pacific and a large walk-in closet and an office. It's in a great neighborhood and we would love to come back.
We spent two months at this lovely house, and wish we could have spent two years. There are panoramic ocean views from the master suite and upper deck, as well as the living room and front porch. We had most of our meals on the front porch, as it has a dinner table for eight (in addition to the dining area, inside, which has a table for ten). The grounds surrounding the house, especially in back, give seclusion and are exquisitely kept. Rose bushes are piled high in the front; there's a vegatable garden on one side; and the herbs, fruit trees, and flowers in back make a quiet setting for the back patio, where we usually gathered before dinner. A gardener comes once a week.
The house inside is very spacious, with four bedrooms, and very high ceilings. The kitchen is first-rate, with just about every utensil you can think of, including a six-burner industrial range, two dishwashers, and two ovens plus microwave. The living room has a small, well-tuned grand piano and a working fireplace. There is a small TV area that features a good size HD TV and a library of several hundred of the best movies ever made.
The furnishings are extremely comfortable and quite artistic. There is statuary everywhere, and the functional fireplaces are actually works of art made from sea shells. We loved it. It felt like a movie set.
The upstairs is entirely master suite, including an office that is as big as many people's living room, and a deck that spans the entire front of the house.
Lastly, the owners were extremely nice, and solicitous of taking care of any problems.
Just so you don't think we're relatives of the owners, I will mention two small down sides. One is that, even in June, July, and August, it gets cool at night--bring a light sweater. Second, LA traffic is a nightmare to the uninitiated. Fortunately, you won't have to stray far into it, as the local area (Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, and Malibu) has everything you need and then some.
A big, beautiful home, terraced on a hillside, with views of the Southern California coast. On a clear day you can see Catalina and the Palos Verdes peninsula. It is located minutes from the center of Pacific Palisades Village (to the East) and minutes from the beaches of Santa Monica and Malibu (to the West.) The home is very spacious with four bedrooms and 3 baths. There is a large, high ceiling living room/dining room with wonderful artistic touches, a phenomenally complete kitchen and an indulgent master bedroom suite. The owners couldn't have been more helpful, with answers to all our questions. My family and I look forward to staying here next year.
