Amazing house

  • 5 of 5

My family (my husband, two young sons and I) booked a three month stay at this beautiful house from our home in Copenhagen. We wanted to try out living in California. We loved this house so much, the neighborhood of Pacific Palisades and the schools that we decided to stay on and were lucky the house was available. We really like the family feeling in the house with enough bedrooms for everybody but also great space for hanging out in the kitchen together or eating all together on the patios or in the dining room. My boys really like relaxing on the sofas and playing the piano. My husband and I especially like the private master bedroom and library which is like a special retreat for us in the evenings. Having the ocean view from the balcony, and the opportunity to watch the sunrise and the sunset from the house everyday is just amazing.

I recommend this house to anybody because they will feel like they are "coming home" when they walk into the warm house filled with art and beauty and has an ocean view. So happy we found this house.

Magnificent Home

  • 5 of 5

We spent 1 month is this magnificent home! The location & views are incredible and if you love to cook, the kitchen is perfect. The house has lots of space (we have 4 kids!) and the owners had everything clearly listed with helpful guides & instructions. We would definitely rent the house again and would highly recommend it!

We did not want to leave. An absolute perfect home, perfect location, bravo!

  • 5 of 5

This magnificent home is truly one-of-a kind. From the two ocean facing terraces to the lush gardens surrounding "the secret path" in the back of the property, the place is magical. If you like to cook, this is the house for you. Complete with a chef's kitchen, this home has every amenity. It is accurately described on VRBO, and if anything the description does not do it justice. This home is immaculate and everything is of the highest quality. We were just a few driving blocks to the beach, and just as close to Palisades Village. We were able to frequent three different Farmer's markets from this location (Wed, Sat, Sun) because the house is situated perfectly between Malibu and Santa Monica (and the one n the Palisades Village was probably the best). The Owner was "right on it" with any questions we had and went out of her way to introduce us to several babysitters and a fabulous swim teacher for our 3-year old. The Palisades Village has a great park at the recreation center for kids, and the library in the Village was good for our daughter also. There are many restaurants in the Village and Santa Monica that were excellent, in addition to several on directly on the ocean. We loved the restaurants but enjoyed cooking at the house more, because of the kitchen, outdoor area, and grill. We HIGHLY recommend this home.

Awesome Home

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home for two months over the winter and it was fantastic.  The home sits on a hill with a view of the ocean at morning light and city lights at night.  As we walked in and out each day, the scent of the flowers from the large garden in front was an unexpected delight.  The garden and patio in the back are also special with orchids in bloom throughout our stay and a great variety of other flowers and plants, with the sound of bubbling water at all times in the stone planter.  The library of art books throughout the house provided a never ending source of interest and the EXTENSIVE movie/DVD collection was really appreciated. The kitchen is large and set up for people who enjoy cooking and entertaining.  The bedrooms were all comfortable and the upstairs master bedroom and master library both had a connecting large patio overlooking the ocean, which we really used and enjoyed.  This was a real home away from home. We would definitely come back.

Beautiful large house with magnificent views of Pacific

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house over Christmas with 2 other family members and loved it. The views over the Pacific are spectacular- and I live in the south of France-overlooking the Mediterranean, so I know what I'm saying! The kitchen is great and we did a lot of cooking and entertaining and it was all very convenient. The decoration is amazing- not surprising as the owners are in the film industry- we loved the big dining/ living area, the beautiful little back garden and the large terraces- off of dining area and the whole length of master suite. The master suite is really exceptional- aside from the large bedroom (with great bed) there is a beautiful bathroom- 2 sinks, tub and separate shower and wc- all with views of the Pacific and a large walk-in closet and an office. It's in a great neighborhood and we would love to come back.

Panoramic Ocean Views from a Charming House

  • 5 of 5

We spent two months at this lovely house, and wish we could have spent two years. There are panoramic ocean views from the master suite and upper deck, as well as the living room and front porch. We had most of our meals on the front porch, as it has a dinner table for eight (in addition to the dining area, inside, which has a table for ten). The grounds surrounding the house, especially in back, give seclusion and are exquisitely kept. Rose bushes are piled high in the front; there's a vegatable garden on one side; and the herbs, fruit trees, and flowers in back make a quiet setting for the back patio, where we usually gathered before dinner. A gardener comes once a week.

The house inside is very spacious, with four bedrooms, and very high ceilings. The kitchen is first-rate, with just about every utensil you can think of, including a six-burner industrial range, two dishwashers, and two ovens plus microwave. The living room has a small, well-tuned grand piano and a working fireplace. There is a small TV area that features a good size HD TV and a library of several hundred of the best movies ever made.

The furnishings are extremely comfortable and quite artistic. There is statuary everywhere, and the functional fireplaces are actually works of art made from sea shells. We loved it. It felt like a movie set.

The upstairs is entirely master suite, including an office that is as big as many people's living room, and a deck that spans the entire front of the house.

Lastly, the owners were extremely nice, and solicitous of taking care of any problems.

Just so you don't think we're relatives of the owners, I will mention two small down sides. One is that, even in June, July, and August, it gets cool at night--bring a light sweater. Second, LA traffic is a nightmare to the uninitiated. Fortunately, you won't have to stray far into it, as the local area (Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, and Malibu) has everything you need and then some.
