Lots of room, comfortable and they thought of everything

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable beds and well appointed kitchen. Space by the river was so peaceful. My husband was surprised it was somewhat in town but we didn’t notice neighbors. Plenty of bedding and towels. Responsive owner. Very much enjoyed! Also near to grocery store and great hikes!

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

We visited family over Christmas. The home couldn't have been more convenient. It provided us with the space we needed to unwind. The river was icy but beautiful. This home allowed us to have a wonderful time celebrating the holidays. It was especially nice that they decorated the house with a tree and other holiday decor.

Wonderfully, relaxing extended weekend!

  • 5 of 5

The Riverhouse is a special place! This was our third stay! We had some in our group that had been there before and other first-timers. Everyone was just blown away by the beauty of the place! The newly rebuilt deck, picnic table and stairs down to the river are nicely done! The well supplied kitchen was a great place to prepare our breakfasts every morning, but the group immediately headed out to the river deck after fixing their plates! Watching the herons, kingfishers, ducks, geese and fly fishermen, is a perfect way to spend the morning! Two of the nights we spent grilling and sitting around the fire pit!

Everyone in the group commented on how comfortable the beds were and we never ran out of hot water! Our large group's ages ranged from 22 to 58 and we all can't wait til next year!

I'd recommend this place for families and friends! The Watauga River Getaway is a destination in itself!

Awesome house on the river

  • 5 of 5

Charming and comfy. We loved our stay. The home was nicely laid out with great bedrooms and a deck by the river where we enjoyed our meals. Our little group was in town for a bike race and we were less than 2 miles from the start of our race which went through nearby Roan Mountain State Park. A must see! Our team had a wonderful time. We will be back again soon!

Great place on a very nice trout stream (River).

  • 5 of 5

My 19 y.o. Son and I had a great time. The area supplied a great outdoor experience and the house was very nice and right on the river. The only wish I had was a little nicer grill to use. The one there was less than functional. Very nice place overall. Thank you...
