Overview: Also known as Happy Trails, this house is an exclusive Moonlight Mountain home, located at Moonlight Basin Resort in Big Sky's Mountain Village. This home is 2500 square feet and has three bedrooms plus a loft and four and a half bathrooms. Astonishing views combined with all the comforts make this an awesome lodging option! A groomed trail is accessible approximately 450 feet from this home. Bedding configuration: king, queen, two twin beds, queen sofa sleeper, sleeps 8 MAX. Amenities include five TV's, five DVD players, Satellite TV service, private outdoor hot tub, complimentary wireless, wood burning fireplace in living room, gas burning fireplace and jetted tub in master bedroom, washer and dryer, gas grill, and one car garage with additional parking for one more car outside of the garage.
Location: Located at approximately 8000 feet elevation, Mountain Home 59 is supremely situated for your mountain vacation. Great views off of the deck and out of the living room: take a look out the window and decide where to ski or where to hike! While we do not consider this condo to be true ski-in, ski-out, it is accessible via the Bootlegger green run down the street on Cowboy Heaven Rd, approximately a five minute walk. This cabin is also just minutes from the Moonlight Lodge, or the Madison Base, making driving to and from the lifts very easy. We do recommend, if not require, our guests of this home to have a vehicle to best be able to access everything Big Sky has to offer. This home is approximately two miles to the main Mountain Village, seven miles to Big Sky’s Meadow Village and Town Center, and about fifty-five miles to the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
Details: Drive up to this Mountain Home and park in the two car garage built for your convenience. The entry level of this condo has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and laundry room. The first bedroom has two twin beds and a TV and uses the full bathroom in the hall. The second bedroom has a queen bed, TV, and an in suite three-quarters bathroom. Upstairs to the main living area is the kitchen, living room, and dining area, all open to one another so that entertaining and spending quality time together is easy. The well-stocked kitchen has stainless steel appliances, and a counter with three bar stools for additional seating. The dining table seats six to eight people. The living room has a cozy wood-burning fireplace, TV, and access to the deck with private hot tub and gas grill. Also on this main level is the master suite – complete with a king sized bed, TV, access to a small private deck, walk in closet, and full in suite bathroom with jetted tub and separate shower. Lofted from the main level of the house is a small additional sitting area, with a queen sofa sleeper, TV, desk, and three quarters bathroom.
We had a group of six stay here (sleeps up to 8), and it was definitely a great option! My father and his friends actually stayed in the cabin right next to us in years prior and had a great time as well. Everything was luxurious and the 4.5 bathrooms was a huge bonus as well. The hot tub could comfortably fit five, from where you could also see the peak along with moonlight ridge. The grill, washer, and dryer all came in handy. Only things to point out for others is, it didn't have shampoo stocked there (so don't be like me and BRING SOME)!
For those skiing, it's also not an "official ski in/out" -- it's just located in a particular spot on the mountain. You have to walk up Cowboy Heaven Rd. to the Bootlegger Trail (about 3 minute walk). Bootlegger connects right to the bottom of the Iron Horse lift. Depending on the season (if snow is covering the road), you can either ski-in right back down this Cowboy Heaven Rd. to your back door, or you'll have to take your skis off and walk them 3 minutes back down.
