About the property

This beautiful home on 6.7 acres conveniently located between Crested Butte Mountain Ski Resort,Taylor Reservoir and Blue Mesa Reservoir—you are only a mere 30 minutes from any one—is the perfect place to getaway for a fun mountain adventure. Built in 1998, this home has 3800 sq feet with an over-sized 2.5 car garage and is located only 2 miles from town.

Walking through the beautifully landscaped yard, you will notice rock gardens flowerbeds and a large yard with programmable sprinkler system. From there, you can enter the home via a stone walkway which leads to a locally hand crafted main door. Through the door is the main entry with tile flooring and a generous sized closet for all your winter and skiing gear.

You will love relaxing in the main living room with a high peaked ceiling, plenty of large windows, and a rock natural gas fireplace. Leading out of the living room there are two separate large sliding glass doors that lead you out to the large back deck where you can take a dip in the private hot tub, BBQ on the gas grill, or just take in the spectacular views of the mountains and local wildlife while relaxing on the patio furniture.

You and your guests can make frequent use of the fully equipped kitchen and dining area separated by a sitting / food preparation bar. The family chef will love the kitchen consisting of a double oven, a Viking cook top, black simulated granite tile counter tops and the same custom heart pine cabinetry and trim that is consistent throughout the entire home. Even while cooking up a feast, you can still enjoy the beautiful views through more large windows that add to the open concept. This entire open space has beautiful heart pine flooring.

On the west end of the home, you’ll find even more amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible including a laundry room large capacity Kenmore washer and dryer. Up the stairs and above the garage, you can spend countless hours of fun competing in the game room, which consist of a pool table, air hockey game, and a 48' Sony television. By the end of your stay you will certainly know who is a pool shark or air hockey champion and who is not. This room can also double as a large sleeping area and is equipped with a queen bed. Adjacent to the game room, there is a loft over-looking the master bedroom with a nautilus weight machine and an inversion table, for the fitness enthusiast.

The incredible master bedroom is a large, very open room with an extremely high ceiling (which allows for the open loft), a Jacuzzi bath tub, an over-sized steam shower with two shower heads, his and her sinks, and of course a private toilet area. There are also 3 generously sized, carpeted guest bedrooms and a large full bath. The 2nd bedroom also includes a large loft/play area that is perfect for the kids.

You will love your time spent in Gunnison, it truly is like living in a post card. Close by you have access to the recreation center, with indoor lap pool, leisure pool, and kids pools complete with 2 large water slides! In addition, there is also an indoor ice rink, outdoor ice rink and, depending on the season, a skating/fishing pond. There is so much to do in and around Gunnison from golf to downhill skiing, cross country skiing, and water skiing to hiking, rock climbing, 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, mountain and road biking. Once you are here, you will never want to leave.

A wonderful home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay at this home in the south western foothills of gunnison, CO. The layout was spacious and advantageous for our needs of connecting as a large family. We easily prepared meals for 9 in the well appointed kitchen. Which was very clean and thoughtfully stocked.

The bedrooms were spacious and the steam shower in the master was especially soothing after our full day of skiing at Monarch.

We spent many hours playing pool and air hockey in the game room and exercising in the loft. We soaked in the hot tub under the bright stars of the milky way every night and watched movies together in the comfy living room. Often, the guys are looking to get out of the house to burn off energy but we had plenty to do here and space to do it.

The owners were lovely! They were completely available to us, quickly replying to texts and emails. Even offering to run into the local Walmart when we were looking for something not at the home.

This was a great experience and we'll be booking this property again soon!

Better than we expected

  • 5 of 5

This was my first experience renting a property away from home and Brenda made it great. We came from Kansas and New Mexico for a family event so we wanted to stay together and enjoy our time together. There was plenty of room and had everything we could think of needing to cook with. We loved the space, the hot tub, and the views. We watched deer graze in the neighbors yard one morning and listened to coyotes during the night and watched them moving through the area the next morning. Beautiful home! Thank you for sharing with us.

Will definitely return.

Thanks Brenda!

Beautiful home, wonderful first experience!

  • 5 of 5

This was my first experience renting a property like this. We had family coming from different states so we wanted to all stay together. It was great. House was beautiful, easy to find and plenty of room for our family. We enjoyed the hot tub, the fireplace, the game room, the spacious kitchen, and plenty of sleeping accommodations. The views were spectacular...sun rises, sunsets and the full moon shining in the windows. We watched deer graze in the neighbors yard and listened to the coyotes calling during the night and passing through the area the next morning. Brenda was a delight to visit with and work with. We will definitely stay again. Thank you.

Gunnison Retreat, 9/22-9/25 2016

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 adults had a great time here. The house was spacious, warm and invitIng. The great room was comfortable with seating for all to watch t.v., eat, and enjoy the warmth of the fireplace. The property offered space to play football in the back yard and enjoy the big, hot tub. The game room was a perfect place to relax after a full day fishing on the river. The kitchen was very big for all the cooks. Cookware was average, dish/glass ware, etc., was plenty, outdoor grill was easy to operate and sheltered. The laundry room was big with a utility sink. Last but not least, after a full day on the river, the steam shower in the master bedroom was a hit! This was a home away from home. Location of the property was perfect. Close enough to town and Garlic Mike's restaurant was only a couple blocks away!

Thank you for your hospitality, responsiveness, and friendship! We hope to see you next spring.

Mahalo and Aloha,

Bill and Carmella

Great property and terrific hosts

  • 5 of 5

Our large group stayed at this terrific house twice - at the start and end of our dual-sport motorcycling tour of the region, including Gunnison, Almont, Lake City, Pitken, Silverton, Telluride, and Ouray. The house was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped, and the Spallones were great hosts - friendly and very accommodating. We'll definitely stay here again the next time we tour this area.
