Exceptional Condo - Will Definitely Be Back Next Year

This was our second stay at this property and we were not disappointed. The condo is very spacious with a large balcony and ocean view. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you would possibly need. Definitely feels like a home away from home. The pool and beach areas are outstanding with umbrellas and chairs available at both. The Ritz staff are very friendly and very helpful. The owner, Mary, was easy to work with and accommodating. She provided advance notice regarding the construction that is taking place on the property. Despite the noise and 1 pool/hot tub being closed during our stay, my family still had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this property.

Great communication with owner!

I have been corresponding with Mary, the owner of this condo, regarding the construction at the Ritz. I just wanted to note that she couldn't be more forthcoming with what is going on in relation to this property. I know that a great deal of attention is paid to reviews and I just wanted to mention the very positive experience that I am having with the owner. Please note, we haven't actually stayed here yet.

The construction will be a nuisance to some of our guests. The Ritz staff will make it as comfortable as possible and the property is beautiful. Hopefully, the completion of the project will be ahead of schedule!

Amazing condo - difficulty with owner transparency

I booked this condo for my first time using VRBO for a trip for my family of 5 adults. I debated not even writing a review because overall we had a great trip but the lack of responsiveness and help from the owner when we had an issue during our stay made me feel like I did have to at least mention that.

Pros-beautiful condo and building, great amenities, beachfront location, pristine pools and service. The communication with Mary and Don leading up to the trip was great and they were super helpful.

Cons- during our stay there was daily construction/renovations going on all day every day from 8 am - 5 pm on the condos facing the pool and beach. This consisted of jackhammering, sandblasting, etc. which was extremely loud and could not be reduced with headphones and made it difficult to feel completely on vacation. When we asked the pool guys about it they said it had been going on for weeks and would continue indefinitely until all the units were done. I texted Mary about this issue in a nice way asking if she knew about it ahead of time or wasn't aware. Long story short we were texting back and forth and she told me they did in fact know about all the construction and she guessed it was a "matter of tolerance." When I asked for some sort of compensation (just even removing the cleaning fee) I first got no response back, even after we left and I asked again I just got the security deposit and never head from her again. This was unfortunate as its a great place and they were super helpful before going but she should have been upfront about this from the beginning, apologetic when it was brought to her attention and at least willing to give a response to my inquiries for a very minimal discount.

In sum, I would ask upfront about this construction because we were among 10-15 other people at the pool per day as clearly everyone else knew about this situation and were sent emails warning about the obstructive noise.

Owner's Response: We take the review process very seriously. We have only received one review under a 5 since we began leasing our home since January of 2011. To receive a 3 for "Difficulty with owner transparency" is insulting. We received a text 3 days after her arrival expressing her dissatisfaction with the renovation noise. Mary and I were at the condo the week before and it didn't bother us. We offered to help her find other lodging if the noise was going to be a problem. We were told at that time that she was "not looking to move accommodations". Prior to her arrival, she asked to check in early and check out late. We made arrangements to satisfy her requests. During a phone conversation, she told Mary that she was not looking for anything, "I just want you to be aware of the situation." Later in a series of texts, she then requested "some sort of discount" and later asked for a refund of the cleaning fee. First of all her payment was due per the contract on Dec 1. We sent her an email reminding her that her payment was late. We received it one day prior to her arrival. When we asked her about the payment, we requested her to send a check. Her response was that for security reasons, she wanted to pay by Paypal. Per her request, we were forced to pay an additional 4% service charge. To maintain a property as beautiful as the Ritz-Carlton Residences, improvements are ongoing Monday through Friday. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. In closing, it is very important to us to make sure our guests are well taken care of and have a great vacation. We take great pride in making sure everyone has the most enjoyable experience possible.

Spectacular property!

My wife and I took my parents and our 6 and 8 year old kids. The unit was a great size and the ocean view from the large balcony was amazing! Many property's claim to be 5 stars and are really 4 stars. This is a legitimate 5 star property with all the amenities. We will definitely be returning. The transaction with Mary the owner was seamless and easy.
