Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This tip-lot home is at the end of a cul-de-sac facing Landmark Bay, one of the most sought-after wide-water views on Marco Island. The home is designed for indoor-outdoor living, with sliding glass doors from three different rooms leading to a large, screened lanai and heated pool.

A public entrance to the widest beach on the island is a 6-minute walk from our home. Tigertail Beach, outstanding for bathing, birding and shelling, is a five minute drive and South Marco Beach, also wide, is a ten minute drive. Rookery Bay bird sanctuary is a short drive up Route 951. And for golfers, there are several signature courses close by.

For those who like to fish, Landmark Bay is called Tarpon Bay because it shelters baby tarpon year-round. It is not unusual to occasionally see four and five-foot tarpon splashing about just off the patio dock.

Landmark Bay also hosts a variety of small fish (snapper, sheepshead porgies, cravalle jacks, ladyfish) and an occasional snook coming to hook. Also, dolphins cruise through the bay on a regular basis, popping to the surface in their acrobatic display. Several fishing rods are available on the lanai.

In addition, there is much bird life on the bay, including many pelicans, herons, egrets, ibis, spoonbills and, of course, seagulls. On occasion, you might spot an osprey, hawk or owl. There also are colonies of burrowing owls on Marco Island.

The single-story home has a 165-foot seawall with a 20 x 18-foot patio dock jutting into the bay. There is an attractive step-down living room for entertaining, a full, formal dining room, and family room with parquet wood floors throughout (except for the bedrooms, which are carpeted).

For entertainment, there is a 46-inch Sony Bravia HDTV and a Sony Blu-ray player. There also is a Comcast DVR that allows archiving of current Comcast TV programs and movies for later viewing. Secure high-speed Internet service is provided throughout the property

Most of your time probably will be spent outdoors on the screened lanai, which is furnished with a glass-top dining table and chairs and a breakfast bar, which can be served directly from the kitchen. On the lanai is a wicker set with a love seat, lounge and chair, a good place to read a book and/or watch the children while they are in the pool.

For those who love the sun, the patio dock will be the draw while at home. There are several chaise lounges on the lanai that can be moved easily to the dock. And fishing from the dock, ahhhh!

About Chris Dotson

We are two retirees living in Colorado, who visit Marco Island on occasion,

Why Chris Dotson chose Florida South Gulf Coast

One look at the wide-water view of this home is all it took to convince us to move from a condo.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We, 2 adults & 3 kids, stayed in this great house a week and enjoyed everything. From the great lay-out, to the views, the space, the attention to detail (all things needed for the beach included) the walking distance to the ocean and the tranquility. And it is true: every day we saw dolphins coming by! Of course also lots of other animals: fish, birds. Our first night we were extremely lucky and saw a manatee. The possibility to fish on the dock is great (caught a barracuda!!). Every night we sat outside at the pool and enjoyed the nature around us. It is a great spot and a fantastic house for a vacation with or without kids. And last but not least the homeowner was very easy to do business with even with us leasing from Europe, no hassles in terms of leasing agreement, return of deposit.

Great winter break

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean, perfectly located, and with all the amenities of home. We enjoyed the screened-in porch, the BBQ, walks on the nearby beach, and great seafood at the nearby restaurants. Our first trip to Marco Island was tremendous.

Perfect family vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd trip to Marco Island and we loved staying at this wonderful house. It is only A 5 minute walk to the beach. And it is a great beach with calm clear water and lots of pretty sea shells.

My family enjoyed fishing off the dock everyday in the back of the house. My 2 kids boy 15 and girl 12 would swim in the pool every evening and actually get along.

I loved being able to use the full kitchen to prepare meals. We went on a fishing charter and I had everything needed to cook a great dinner.

It is also an easy drive into the Everglades to view all the nature and wildlife. We went one day and got to see gators, snakes, turtles, otters and all kinds of birds.

My family is already looking forward to next year when we can come back for our 4th trip.

Booking and getting all the needed information was very easy. I would recommend this house for a vacation to all my friends and family.

Incredible view!

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from renting this amazing house. The view from every room is just spectacular. The pool and dock are a big hit with kids. The house itself was spacious and comfortable. The master bath is newly renovated. The kitchen is large and easy, with everything you would need to use. It is less than a 10 minute walk to the beach. We loved watching the dolphins swim right from the pool and dock. My girls also saw a sea turtle from the dock. We have been renting houses on Marco for 7 years but this one is the one we are coming back to!

Fabulous location, property and stay! Highly recommend to any family looking for a relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

Property was well maintained, clean and convenient! Loved the dock and ability to fish from the back yard. Close enough to walk to the beach but private enough to be secluded for dinners on patio! Bedroom set up provides plenty of room for our family of 5 and overall layout Flows well with the center of focus on the outside patio and pool. Owner very easy to deal with and had instant service to resolve an issue with a/c (tripped breaker). Definitely would stay again on next trip to Marco. Thanks, Chris!
