About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This tip-lot home is at the end of a cul-de-sac facing Landmark Bay, one of the most sought-after wide-water views on Marco Island. The home is designed for indoor-outdoor living, with sliding glass doors from three different rooms leading to a large, screened lanai and heated pool.

A public entrance to the widest beach on the island is a 6-minute walk from our home. Tigertail Beach, outstanding for bathing, birding and shelling, is a five minute drive and South Marco Beach, also wide, is a ten minute drive. Rookery Bay bird sanctuary is a short drive up Route 951. And for golfers, there are several signature courses close by.

For those who like to fish, Landmark Bay is called Tarpon Bay because it shelters baby tarpon year-round. It is not unusual to occasionally see four and five-foot tarpon splashing about just off the patio dock.

Landmark Bay also hosts a variety of small fish (snapper, sheepshead porgies, cravalle jacks, ladyfish) and an occasional snook coming to hook. Also, dolphins cruise through the bay on a regular basis, popping to the surface in their acrobatic display. Several fishing rods are available on the lanai.

In addition, there is much bird life on the bay, including many pelicans, herons, egrets, ibis, spoonbills and, of course, seagulls. On occasion, you might spot an osprey, hawk or owl. There also are colonies of burrowing owls on Marco Island.

The single-story home has a 165-foot seawall with a 20 x 18-foot patio dock jutting into the bay. There is an attractive step-down living room for entertaining, a full, formal dining room, and family room with parquet wood floors throughout (except for the bedrooms, which are carpeted).

For entertainment, there is a 46-inch Sony Bravia HDTV and a Sony Blu-ray player. There also is a Comcast DVR that allows archiving of current Comcast TV programs and movies for later viewing. Secure high-speed Internet service is provided throughout the property

Most of your time probably will be spent outdoors on the screened lanai, which is furnished with a glass-top dining table and chairs and a breakfast bar, which can be served directly from the kitchen. On the lanai is a wicker set with a love seat, lounge and chair, a good place to read a book and/or watch the children while they are in the pool.

For those who love the sun, the patio dock will be the draw while at home. There are several chaise lounges on the lanai that can be moved easily to the dock. And fishing from the dock, ahhhh!

About Chris Dotson

We are two retirees living in Colorado, who visit Marco Island on occasion,

Why Chris Dotson chose Florida South Gulf Coast

One look at the wide-water view of this home is all it took to convince us to move from a condo.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We, 2 adults & 3 kids, stayed in this great house a week and enjoyed everything. From the great lay-out, to the views, the space, the attention to detail (all things needed for the beach included) the walking distance to the ocean and the tranquility. And it is true: every day we saw dolphins coming by! Of course also lots of other animals: fish, birds. Our first night we were extremely lucky and saw a manatee. The possibility to fish on the dock is great (caught a barracuda!!). Every night we sat outside at the pool and enjoyed the nature around us. It is a great spot and a fantastic house for a vacation with or without kids. And last but not least the homeowner was very easy to do business with even with us leasing from Europe, no hassles in terms of leasing agreement, return of deposit.

Perfect Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean, perfectly located, and with all the amenities of home. We enjoyed the screened-in porch, the BBQ, walks on the nearby beach, and great seafood at the nearby restaurants. Our first trip to Marco Island was tremendous.

Absolutely Perfect Beautiful and Relaxing Home

  • 5 of 5

This is a very calm and relaxing home that we immensely enjoyed. It is right on the inlet and has picture postcard views. The neighborhood is in a quiet location within a very short walking distance to the gorgeous beach which allowed us to walk to the ocean everyday and explore the neighborhood by foot. The house has nicely furnished spaces/rooms, where we were comfortable spending our time. The pool area was our favorite because it has plenty of lounge chairs to for us all to comfortably relax and hangout. We bbqd everyday with fresh seafood which was so delightful. The house itself was very spacious, spotless, clean, updated and very comfortable. Marco Island offers all the goodies that we wanted from a vacation spot and so did this gorgeous and impressive home. We would highly recommend this home for a spectacular vacation spot.

Perfection!

  • 5 of 5

This place is a perfect spot to go and relax from which to enjoy Marco Island. I could tell you all about the island, but instead I will speak of this gorgeous house and how enjoyable of a place it is. First off, it's a quiet spot with beautiful views of the water and surrounding homes. The house has several places to sit and relax and spend time with family and friends comfortably. I particularly enjoyed fishing from the doc, and no matter if I caught anything or not for the day I ate seafood any way because there is lots of seafood to be had at restaurants or to be cooked using the bbq right by the pool (the way to go if you ask me). The lounge chairs made for lots of kick back time with a cold one in hand, and the suns' rays were much better than being home in the freezing cold and shoveling snow. The beds, couches, chairs, lighting etc. were all nice, clean and cozy, so lounging around or sleeping was the order of activities for me. The nearby beach was easy to get to with a few minute walk and the neighborhood was great to explore and get some exercise time in as well. With that said, I really would want to live in this house....

What a wonderful trip!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at Plum Court over Christmas and New Year's. Simply said, we had an amazing time! It was one of the warmest December stretches in memory. The house was clean and everything in place and ready for us. We lounged at the lanai and pool, fished off of the dock everyday (they don't call it Tarpon Bay for nothing!!), relaxed in the house together, and walked to the beach everyday too! We didn't miss one sunset! Chris is terrific, and answered any questions that we had right away. We will definitely be back!

Great house and location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for two weeks in October and wish we could have stayed longer. The house is in perfect location in the island with the beach about a 5 minute walk away from the beach and a huge waterway in your backyard. The pool and lanai area are a great place to relax. The house itself is very accomadating with everything you could need in the kithen and plenty of towels and extra linens. The owners are great at communication throughout the whole rental process and stay! Have stayed here numerous times before and always trying to plan our return before we even leave.
