About Bill Trufant

I was raised in New Orleans, where I still live, and attended summer camp in Western North Carolina. My wife and I purchased The Cabin on Eagles Nest along with our second residence in 2001 and we love spending as much time as possible in the mountains.

Bill Trufant purchased this cabin in 2002

Why Bill Trufant chose Waynesville

We love Waynesville and its friendly people and we are only 30 minutes from downtown Asheville.

What makes this cabin unique

We have a large garden, available for our guests to wander and enjoy, that keeps us busy when we are in the mountains. After gardening, it's time to relax and travel Western North Carolina. We especially enjoy sunsets at Water Rock Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway just 15 minutes away.

Guestbook comments from the manager

"Thank you for allowing us to share the beauty of this cabin with you. The surroundings are amazing! This was perfect for a little getaway - especially on Valentine's Day! We love how peaceful & refreshing the creek is, a big change for "city-life" We can't wait to come again."

Wonderful Cabin!

We spent the weekend and loved the cabin. It was comfortable, clean and well stocked with all of the essentials. We especially enjoyed to fireplace! Look forward to a return visit when the weather is a bit warmer so that we can enjoy the deck.

Cozy Mountain Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at The Cabin on Eagles Nest! The Cabin sits on a lovely property with a wonderful creek running nearby that was music to our ears. We saw deer feeding two mornings in a row...beautiful. And it's so quiet and secluded but yet just minutes from town and great restaurants! The owner Bill was so great to work with regarding the reservation and instructions, etc. Very kind! We would definitely love to return for a second stay!

Very nice rustic cabin in the woods.

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cabin. It is perfect for 2 couples or a couple with kids. The den was comfortable and had seating for 4. Beside the outdoor fire bowl with adirondack chairs was a wonderful place to spend several hours. There was plenty of firewood for the outdoor and indoor fire places. We had a great time. Bill was very responsive and easy to work with.

Lovely cabin close to Asheville

  • 4 of 5

Loved everything about the cabin. Location is perfect for an Asheville visit. Its secluded yet easy too access. The cabin size was as we expected. It was clean and we had no problems during the stay. Enjoyed using the fire pit outside. Our only complaint was - there is no dishwasher. other than that - everything was perfect ! Will definitely visit again in the future.

Waynesville has long been known for its picturesque small-town charm. You will find friendly people, great shops, restaurants and tree-shaded benches to sit on and rest a spell. In season, ole ‘timey street dances and annual festivals fill the little town with excitement, but with none of the hassle of crowds and honky-tonk typical of “tourist traps.”

There is so much to do while you’re here. Explore the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Pisgah National Forest or the Biltmore Estate. Ride and hike the Blue Ridge Parkway. Golf down the road at Laurel Ridge Country Club, raft the Nantahala, ski Catalouchee, ride horseback…or simply kick back and watch the traffic at the bird feeders.

Other Activities: Shopping, Miniature golf
