Overview

About the property

Country House, 3 Bedrooms + TV room with pull out sofa, 2.5 Baths,

Peace and quiet are just over the ridge from the hubbub of Georgetown Lake. Our 3 bedrooms are furnished with three queens a double pull out sofa and a twin bed. . More sleeping is available in the Game room for camper kids. Snowmobile or four wheel right from our front door to hundreds of miles of trails.

Perched on a forested hillside, our house is just 2.2 miles from the nearest public boat launch, beach and dock on Georgetown Lake. 44 Miles from Butte, 90 miles from Missoula and 6 miles from Philipsburg you can gaze out over the Flint Creek Valley at the Sapphire Mountains from the kitchen, deck or dining/living room. Discovery Basin Ski Area is just 20 minutes away and there's a great loop for cross country skiers, hikers and joggers right from the house. Old Works Golf Course in Anaconda is 30 minutes away and was rated in the 'TOP TEN PUBLIC COURSES' by Golf Magazine. Elk, Deer, Bear and a curious Red Fox are regular visitors. There's a spring creek on our western property boundary and mining ruins just upstream.

THE FISHING UP HERE IS INCREDIBLE! Flint Creek, Georgetown Lake, East Fork Reservoir, Silver Lake and renowned Rock Creek are all fifteen minutes drive or less. There are literally dozens of mountain lakes within an easy hike of the wilderness boundary and several you can drive right to.

Discovery Basin is a mom 'n pop ski area with great beginner terrain and some steep n deep stuff off the backside for more advanced riders. If you are coming in the winter months, you will need to use a 4 wheel drive vehicle, just as we advise you to use on the road to Discovery Ski Area.

There's close access to as much public hunting as you could wish for. Some deer, lots of elk and bear. Granite Ghost Town is 8 miles away and sapphire mining is about the same distance. Philipsburg offers a grocery store, galleries and restaurants. One of the coolest candy stores I've seen is right across from a summer theater with musicals and such. Antiques, art and cowboy bars line Broadway in 'P-Burg'. We will consider pets with a deposit. No internet but the cell service is decent 3G.

Nice Cabin, clean well maintained, great layout for Families

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time. Great place to stay with a family the layout is perfect. We skied at Discovery, then soaked in the hot springs and ate at a family pizza place called the Haufbrau all in the same day and had an excellent time. It takes about 30min to get to the ski hill, and 45min to get to the hot springs the pizza/cafe place is the last Restaurant in anaconda on your way back so it splits up the drive. The drive is worth it. We had a great mini vacation. The home owner provides a great overall experience.

December Holiday Stay

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved our family vacation at this remote (but very accessible) cabin. It was right out of a storybook. The scenery is spectacular and the area offers so many outdoor activities. We took advantage of the downhill skiing, which was only 20 minutes away, even on the snowy roads. The cabin is very comfortable with lots of windows to enjoy the view. We are from Montana, yet decided to leave the cabin a day early due to a large amount of snowfall on Christmas Eve. We all had four-wheel drive, and the road was plowed and very doable. But, we just weren't sure when the roads would be plowed especially since it was Christmas. No fault of the owner (excellent communication), or the home. Honestly, that's part of the charm…Such a little winter wonderland. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Owner's Response: We agree, our place is storybook, that’s what we love about it. We were sorry that Karen and her group felt they had to leave early because of snow. We went the next day and the road was wide open, our plow person taking pride in keeping our road up to his great standards. He lives locally, so he knows the status of the snow fall and what the road needs.

Great property in a gorgeous setting!

  • 5 of 5

This lovely property provided the perfect setting for our weekend sisters' retreat! The hosts are quick to respond to questions and the directions to the house were excellent. The cabin is clean and attractive, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well-supplied for cooking, the living area is well-laid out and the view is amazing! It was perfect for our relaxing wind-down time together. It would also provide a great place for a family. We would most certainly recommend this property and the lovely proprieters! Thank you for helping to make our time together even more special.

Cabin with character in a he middle of the woods, close to town

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was clean and comfortable. It had a warm atmosphere and was kid friendly. We went into Philipsburg (10-15 minute drive) and Gem Mountain Sapphire mine (25 minute drive). Great experience!

We had a great time in your very spacious and beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

We needed a home for two families and all of our kids to visit Philipsburg and Georgetown lake. This home worked out wonderfully. We really enjoyed the rec room with the ping pong table, foosball and games.

Thank you
