Peace and quiet are just over the ridge from the hubbub of Georgetown Lake. Our 3 bedrooms are furnished with two queens and bunks with two full size beds. More sleeping is available in the TV room on our cots. Snowmobile or four wheel right from our front door to hundreds of miles of trails.
Perched on a forested hillside, our house is just 2.2 miles from the nearest public boat launch, beach and dock on Georgetown Lake. 44 Miles from Butte, 90 miles from Missoula and 6 miles from Philipsburg you can gaze out over the Flint Creek Valley at the Sapphire Mountains from the kitchen, deck or dining/living room. Discovery Basin Ski Area is just 20 minutes away and there's a great loop for cross country skiers, hikers and joggers right from the house. Old Works Golf Course in Anaconda is 30 minutes away and was rated in the 'TOP TEN PUBLIC COURSES' by Golf Magazine. Elk, Deer, Bear and a curious Red Fox are regular visitors. There's a spring creek on our western property boundary and mining ruins just upstream.
THE FISHING UP HERE IS INCREDIBLE! Flint Creek, Georgetown Lake, East Fork Reservoir, Silver Lake and renowned Rock Creek are all fifteen minutes drive or less. There are literally dozens of mountain lakes within an easy hike of the wilderness boundary and several you can drive right to.
Discovery Basin is a mom 'n pop ski area with great beginner terrain and some steep n deep stuff off the backside for more advanced riders. If you are coming in the winter months, you will need to use a 4 wheel drive vehicle, just as we advise you to use on the road to Discovery Ski Area.
There's close access to as much public hunting as you could wish for. Some deer, lots of elk and bear. Granite Ghost Town is 8 miles away and sapphire mining is about the same distance. Philipsburg offers a grocery store, galleries and restaurants. One of the coolest candy stores I've seen is right across from a summer theater with musicals and such. Antiques, art and cowboy bars line Broadway in 'P-Burg'. We will consider pets with a deposit. No internet but the cell service is decent 3G.

We have chosen this beautiful location as a way to spend time with our son, a transplanted Montanan. We hope to share the natural beauty and interesting location with others when we cannot be there. So, welcome to our ultra comfortable home away from home in the mountains.

Proximity to recreation, scenery, privacy and family location
Peace and quiet. Comfort and awesome fishing and skiing. Evening stars while regrouping around the fire pit at the end of the day.
Amazing Christmas Vacation Getaway for us and our 5 kids (ages 21, 19, 17, 13, 11). The cabin was so "homey" and with the snow falling outside the entire weekend it was absolute perfect place to spend Christmas. We were able to get some beautiful family pictures at various places in the area and in Philipsburg (such an adorable town at Christmas time). We put up a Christmas tree and decorated with paper chains and homemade snowflakes. Our weekend went by far too quickly! Kids enjoyed 2 days of sledding and we even played Hockey for the first time ever .... Phillipsburg has a ice rink in town (we sled on the hill above ice rink). So MUCH FUN! Would recommend this to everyone! We even saw and took pictures of a Bull Moose that was right down the hill. AMAZING PLACE AMAZING FUN!!!!
This property was a nice, quiet spot to spend a weekend. The house itself was very nice, well stocked and with great views. It's a stretch for 10 adults to comfortably sleep - the double bunkbeds would be great for kids. Visitors should be aware that Google maps will get you close, but not exactly to the property.
Beautiful mountain cabin nestled in the pine trees on the side of a mountain. Quiet home with awesome view. My husband and I will definitely be back, hopefully bring our sons next time to share the cabin with. Philiipsburg is close by for anything you may have forgotten. Townspeople we very friendly and offered good sightseeing ideals! The local brewery offered up some tasty beers too! Can't wait to get back!
My family and I go to Montana every summer, and have stayed in various VRBOs over the years. However, none compare to this one - finally, we have found a place that we plan to return to in the future! The home is well-maintained, well-stocked, clean, and conveniently located. The owner, Pam, is very reasonable, easy to work with, and quick to respond to inquiries. We enjoyed the game room, and loved the beautiful deck overlooking the gorgeous valley. We also cooked for 9 in the spacious kitchen, which was very accommodating! The home was also do-able for my 85-year old grandparents, who enjoyed the bedroom on the main floor, with its own large bathroom. In sum, this home worked for us and exceeded our expectations. Recommended! We will be back!!
The home is beautiful. Very relaxing. The beds were comfortable and the view is amazing. The ping pong table was a hit with the kids and adults. The home was easy to get too and fairly close to towns. The day we left, two buck mule deer were standing by the front door. I would highly recommend this home.
Sapphire Mining, Wilderness Boundary access, Four wheeling, Ghost town nearby, cross country skiing from the door!
