A fantastic villa - a fantastic vacation - we enjoyed the villa, the view and the pools.
We stayed at Grand Bleu for my son's high school graduation trip. My 18 year old son and 15 year old daughter each brought a friend. We had an absolutely fantastic time! The villa is huge and modern with a beautiful hilltop view. The open air living room, open dining area, and pools are awesome. The bedrooms and bathrooms are huge and posh.
Our chef, Jerome spoiled us. We took turns choosing meals for him to prepare, and they were all SO delicious. The presentation was straight out of a French restaurant.
Luxury Retreats did a great job from beginning to end. The planning process by email leading up to our trip was super easy. We planned our entire itinerary ahead of time, which made the trip go very smoothly. Dominic helped choose a villa, and Emma was on top of everything before we arrived. We were picked up at the airport in a super nice Mercedes bus and whisked away to our awesome villa where our rental car was waiting.
St. Martin is full of things to do. Loved every min
We had a terrific time in St Marteen as always, but not necessarily due to the villa. Villa was lovely, but not supplied well for home entertaining, or food prep. Constant problems with the gate locking us in provided unnecessary frustration as it was easily solved and we weren't clued in to solution until problem had occurred 4 times leaving our friends constantly waiting outside for us.
Terrific on rainy days to have the living room feel like inside but outside. However stairs to rooms slippery in rain and had to get soaked going to the rooms in frequent downpours.
Ping pong table and bikes a bonus, rooms outfitted beautifully.
This was strictly a R & R vacation for both my husband and me. The villa was absolutely perfect for that....quiet and so beautiful, there was no reason to leave...at least not often! We spent most mornings in the sun on the lower pool deck or relaxing in the upper, smaller (warmest) pool, then afternoons floating in what we started to call "The Friendly Pool". The restaurant selection was limited because of the time of year, but we managed just fine. In fact, we cooked "at home" a couple of times, as the selection at the Goumet Marche was very good and the kitchen was well equipped. The grill was very nice, as well. The furnishings were upper-end and very comfortable and the ping-pong table was a nice addition. The daily maid service was great...she was very efficient and didn't interfere with our privacy at all. I would highly recommend trying "Ernest and Fidel's" in Cupecoy...it was great food and wonderful service! Worth the short ride down the road to the Dutch side!
Where do I start? First, the personal concierge is amazingly helpful from even before the trip. Our concierge, Emma, was in contact with me as soon as I booked my villa to set up transportation, activities and greeted us at the villa when we arrived. Throughout our week long stay, she helped book us activities and give us recommendations for everything. My mom had even misplaced her jewelry box and we left back home without it, so I emailed Emma and the next day they found it and she said she'll have it delivered to us! Amazing! Now, on to the villa itself. Grand Bleu is the most stunning house I've ever been in. Large, spacious, and most importantly, full of views from every room. The pools are very large, however, we didn't really use the bottom floor one cause it was a little far from the living area. One thing that was a bother was that there is no AC in the living area or kitchen, only in the bedrooms. Overall, amazing experience and we'll definitely back!
