This bright and luxury apartment is located on Boulevard de la Madeleine in Art Deco style historical building with marble facade(the former 'Grand Hotel de Paris' now called 'Residence Madeleine'). A 24 hours concierge makes it the most secure building. It has a huge and luxury lobby with an impressive dome made of cristal Lalique, another historical museum piece as you enter the building ! On the second floor with a lift, the apartment accommodates from 2 to 4 people. This spacious 80 sqm one bedroom is fully furnished, with a Wi-Fi connection and TV cable. In the bedroom, there is a king size bed and wide closet. Please take a look at the photos and see the spacious beautiful shower in the bathroom with nice mosaic tiles, equipped with a washing machine and a dryer.

The living room is very bright and airy. All furniture is from luxury brand Steiner, a legend brand from Art Deco time.

The dining room is also perfect to organize a nice diner at home.

You will enjoy having breakfast in summer time, on the balcony along the kitchen which is equipped with a huge fridge, a stove, microwave, dish washer and all you need to cook.

Opera/Madeleine 'arrondissement' is really central, convenient to get to all major tourist attractions in Paris. Also ideal for clothes shopping and all about luxury and finest places: rue du Foubourd Saint Honoré is also around the corner!

About juihsiang chaudet

Hi, my name is Juihsiang from Taiwan married to a French. As a city girl, I absolutely love this apartment with an excellent location. And I am sure that you will love it as much as I do. Enjoy Paris!

Why juihsiang chaudet chose 1st Louvre

When we are back to Paris we will live in this apartment which is to us the best location in Paris. It has everything that we can possibly dream of at a walking distance : good restaurants and fine food (Lucas Carton, Hediard, Fauchon, Laduree), historical monuments (Madeleine, Opera, Vendome, Concorde), great shopping (Galeries Lafayette and Printemps), luxury brands (rue du Faubourg St Honore) and theatre (Edouard VII and Olympia). It is also a few steps away from river Seine and Le Louvre museum. Everything is a few steps away, including the bike rent 'Velib' !

What makes this apartment unique

As soon as you enter the apartment, you feel like it is designed like a suite of a 5 star hotel : it is spacious, it is equiped with luxury furniture and amenities, it has a nice solid wood parquet and above all it suits perfectly the Art Deco style of the building. The Art Deco style of the apartment includes the Steiner branded furniture, the lighting on the ceiling, up to interruptors, switches and chrome plated door handles !

Plenty of space - convenient and safe location

  • 3 of 5

The Flat:

The building has a secure entry and 2 working elevators (lifts). The flat is on the 2nd floor. It is spacious by Paris standards and has 5-6 sets of doors that open up to either balconies or balconets. The master bedroom has a king size bed and blackout shades (and doubled doors on the patio, which really helped block out noise from the street) and is comfortable for sleeping. There is a ceiling fan but it only seems to have a high setting. There is plenty of closet space. The master bathroom also contains the washer and dryer - a nice feature that we used while there. The bathroom is on the older side and has some quirky features but it gets the job done. There is also a tiny powder room in the hallway. The kitchen is tiny but has everything one would need to cook a meal. Our daughter slept on the pull-out couch in the living room and it was comfortable. The window shades in the living/dining room are thin and provide privacy but don't really block out light or sound. It was quite a bit noisier there than in the bedroom and she slept with both earplugs and an eye mask. There is one fan in the flat, and I wish there had been a second, as we were there during a very hot week and there is no air conditioning.

The Neighborhood:

This flat is conveniently located near the Madeleine metro stop, making it easy to navigate around the city. Ubers and cabs are readily available. There is a small supermarket (Monoprix) across the street where we stocked up on water and supplies. There is also a great liquor/wine shop across the street (Lavinia Paris). There are restaurants in the vicinity but if you're looking to do shopping, you'll need to walk to a different neighborhood.

Checking in/out:

For checking in, we followed the contact instructions we had been provided but no one met us upon our arrival or responded to our notifications. It turns out we'd mistakenly been provided the wrong contact information. We ended up having to wait over 2 hours for the cleaners to clean the flat and for our point of contact to arrive and give us the tour and keys. After a long day of international travel, and dragging around luggage in 85-degree weather, it wasn't an optimal start to our Paris vacation. We'd recommend confirming a connection with your contact person ahead of time so this doesn't happen to you.

Despite a rocky start, we had a great time in Paris and the flat was a comfortable and safe place to rest in between our sightseeing.

We LOVE this apartment!

  • 5 of 5

We were first attracted to this apartment because its Art Deco style is SO DIFFERENT from any place we have ever lived or stayed. We thought it would be fun, and it was -- it's spacious and beautiful. The location is excellent. There is a large elegant lobby entrance to the building (it was originally an Art Deco hotel) with a security "concierge" at the entrance at all times and TWO elevators. The building is wedge-shaped and this is a corner unit, so there are opening glass doors & balconies all around -- in EVERY room. One balcony, off the kitchen, is wide enough to sit outside. There is enough storage space to LIVE there. The bedroom, living room & dining room are all spacious, light and airy. The bed is large and very comfortable. There is one large bathroom with two sinks, a huge beautiful shower stall and a large washer & drier (two separate units), plus a small "toilet & sink" bathroom off the hallway for overnight guests (the couch folds out to a double bed). The only "shortcoming" is the small kitchen, which the owner is considering remodeling. That won't make the room any larger, obviously, but it might become more efficient. Currently, there is enough "countertop work space" for simple meal preparation, but it would be difficult to prepare a banquet! Depending on how you plan to utilize the kitchen, it might be perfectly adequate, as it was for us. Another added bonus is that both the owner and the woman who lives in Paris and serves as your contact are delightful. We enjoyed working with them. Both will respond promptly to e-mails. We highly recommend this apartment. I just hope that not too many of you book it because we would like to stay there again, ourselves!

Large one bedroom flat with charm in a great location

  • 5 of 5

If I were to move to Paris, this is the kind of place I would want to live. At 80 square meters it's larger than many two bedroom flats in my neighborhood. I'm a solo traveler, but this would be a romantic place for a couple -- for its nice decor and its proximity to iconic Paris sights. For travelers with a lot of luggage, there's plenty of closet storage. Also a fully equipped kitchen and modern bathroom with Turkish tile in the large shower stall. Check out the photos.

Great location; clean and nice apartment; responsive and pleasant owner

  • 5 of 5

Spent 4 fun days in Paris and the apartment was a great base to get to all attractions - either on foot or by metro.

2 adults slept in the bedroom bed and 1 other adult in the pull out sofa which could have accommodated another adult. Having 1 1/2 bathrooms was an advantage.

Apartment has all the necessities, including linen, towels, and kitchen supplies. It even had 2 umbrellas that came in handy on a rainy day.

The hot water was more plentiful at certain hours of the day and the only I could have used in the kitchen was some paper towel - pretty minor.

The lobby concierges are not all English speaking and/or friendly, but they were accommodating and kept our luggage stored in a closet after we checked ot, as we had another day to spend in Paris prior to our flight.

The owner was responsive, communicated pleasantly and quickly and returned the security deposit just a few hours after we checked out.

We would definitely book I again, if we return to Paris.

Great location and very spacious and clean in a nice building

  • 5 of 5

We were promptly met upon our arrival by the very friendly manager who showed all we needed to know about the apartment. The bedroom is very spacious with a large and lovely bathroom. The living room and dining room are spacious with a small kitchen that has everything one needs in it.

Most importantly is its location, the metro station is right next to it, there is a market across the street and a bakery a couple of blocks away. The Opera Rainier is a couple of blocks away and all major shopping within walking distance. We love walking and found the Louvre, Champs Elysees are just minutes away, we walked to the Arc of Triumph one evening and it was wonderful.

I will go back to this place.
