About Cathy Chatham
Cathy and I are avid outdoor enthusiasts and triathletes, who have raced both the half and full at Mont Tremblant Ironman. Tremblant provides everything we need for biking, running and swimming. And of course there is the skiing in winter to keep us fit!
Cathy Chatham purchased this House in 2010
Why Cathy Chatham chose Mont-Tremblant
We are originally from Ottawa and have vacationed in Tremblant in the past and have always loved it here. 8 years ago we were looking to make some changes as our 5 kids were all either gone or leaving. In March of 2010 we all came up to Tremblant for a 3 day family vacation at a friends chalet and, as we always do, did some drive around sightseeing. Before we knew it, it turned into a real estate search and we knew right away, this was the place to make our change. This property appealed to us because of it's unique set up. We love the open concept of both floors, the cathedral ceiling and the amazing view. With the Master bedroom/ensuite on the main floor, there is plenty of room downstairs, along with a second kitchen, for family and friends.
What makes this House unique
We love the landscape of our house, set on the hillside and below street level, on 1 acre of treed property, it offers a very private setting. At the same time we are very close to all the amenities, a walk to the beach in Summer, or snowshoe/ski trails in Winter. La Petite Cachee restaurant is right next door, perfect for a special evening of fine dining. The back yard is a wonderful retreat in Summer with patio space, Adirondack chairs and a swing chair. In Winter our outdoor fire pit makes for a special family evenings roasting marshmallows. Inside the house is perfectly suited for large family gathering with the open plan main floor and large sit to island which allows for great entertaining. The wood fireplace and reading corner make for a cosy place to sit with a book. The downstairs den with a second large screen TV has board games and children books for more family fun, plus we just added a pool table.

Great for a large group getaway.
The home is larger than we expected. As a group of 10 we felt we had great space to come together for meals, or to chat into the night. It felt like we were at home. There were lots of little things that made the stay great like, little noise between floors, very cool at night for sleeping, lovely garden in the back to relax in and a well stocked kitchen for cooking. Wonderful spot!
Had. A great time. Enjoyed the house and the area. Thanks
Loved it. Would recommend it highly to others.
What a great house! We rented this for the 70.3 race and it was absolutely perfect for us. The location was great and right on the run course. Couldn't have asked for a better home. Cathy and Sheldon were very nice, very responsive and great hosts. Will defintely rent again!
What a gorgeous property within walking distance of the Tremblant Village! We were 13 girls and we slept very comfortably at Cathy’s home. With a hot tub, pool table, outdoor fire pit and beautiful open concept living area, there was always something to do, and a place for everyone to be together. Cathy’s kitchen has all of the necessities one might need, and she has graciously left shampoo and soap in each shower. We had an incredible time at such a nice home. Thank you!
More beautiful than the pictures!
We were so lucky to be guests at this property. The owners were lovely to deal with. The home was even more beautiful than pictured. Such a relaxing vacation in this picturesque setting. Thank you for everything.
Fantastic ski chalet
We stayed here in February with 2 families (4 adults and 5 kids). The house is huge, more than enough space for 2 families. Because it was winter we didn't explore the property much, but the hot tub was very welcome after long days of skiing. The owners were very responsive to any issues we had, highly recommended!
The chalet is ideally located between the Old Village and the Ski Village with a wonderful restaurant right next door. The Old village has a grocery store, several great restaurants and the public beach on Lac Mercier, as well as access to the 180K Train du Nord recreational paths.
We are a short drive to the main town of St Jovite (10K) where you will find large grocery stores, housewares, sports stores and clothing boutiques as well as sidewalk cafes and restaurants.
From the chalet, a short scenic walk takes you to the beach and tennis club on beautiful Lac Tremblant. Continuing around the lake brings you to the heart of Tremblant and it’s Ski Village.
The location is close enough to enjoy all the winter and summer activities that Tremblant resort has to offer, while allowing you to get away at the end of the day to relax with family and friends.
The St Bernanrd cross country ski centre is 7K from the chalet and boasts 65 Kilometres of groomed classic and skate ski trails as well as many snowshoe and winter hiking trails. You can also access trails that will take you to the Centre or the Ski Village just 600 metres from the Chalet.
For the Triathlete - The house is situated on the Ironman run course, and therefore is a perfect location for groups looking to spend time race training. We are a short walk to the Ironman training beach at Lac Tremblant and 2 minutes ride to the start of the bike course. In Winter athletes can enjoy Tremblants new Aquacentre with 25 metre 8 lane training pool., and state of the art indoor cycling gym. Take a virtual cycle of the Tremblant Ironman course on a bike or treadmill simulators, or bring your own bike for indoor training at the centre.
For the golfer there are 6 top class golf courses within a 10K radius of the chalet and for those who want to relax after a game of golf the Spa Scandinav is just a short drive away with hot and cold pools and massage therapy.
In summer, you can walk or drive to the pedestrian village and enjoy the many festivals, such as the blues, Jazz, Tremblant Gourmand and Wanderlust Yoga festivals or enjoy the many activities in the area including boat tour on Lac tremblant, ziplining, Canoe and kayaking, horseback riding, water skiing and fishing.
