Located in Bosque Farms, NM (a quick and easy 20 minutes south of Albuquerque) this 2200 square foot adobe building is filled with New Mexico charm. The large, two story building with its high ceilings and seamless backdrop is often used as a photographer's studio, performance space, mini film stage or just a place to party and relax. It has been a filming location for numerous advertisements and film projects including 'America's Most Wanted' and the AMC TV series 'Breaking Bad'. (Ask about our film rates)
It is situated behind the owner's 1930's adobe 'homestead' house on a 4 acre, small, hobby farm. There are sheep, and other animals on the property. Small, friendly dogs on a leash will be considered as potential guests. Please ask first. (We have our own dogs, cats and free range chickens to consider!)
There is a small service kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, hotplate, coffee maker and toaster oven. All dishes and utensils are available for use. A highchair is available.
There are two large grocery stores as well as a several restaurant selections 10 minutes south in the town of Los Lunas. Dining options in Bosque Farms include several standard, fast-food options and 3 regional, New Mexican food choices. Numerous choices are available north 20 minutes into Albuquerque.
The drive to Albuquerque is quick and simple on Interstate 25. Just 10 minutes away there is a station for the new Rail Runner passenger train. (Please note there is no other public transportation available.) Hard Rock Casino/Spa/Concert venue is a quick 10-minute drive. You can get a massage, see a concert and loose your wages all in one beautiful spot! Isleta Pueblo -with a church dating to 1680’s- is a Native American village just 10 minutes away. The Albuquerque Airport is a quick 20 min. drive as is the University of New Mexico and countless museums and galleries. Sandia Peak Ski Area and the Sandia Tramway is within an easy 30-40 minute drive. Our town is almost exactly in the center of New Mexico and is an excellent springboard for all of your site seeing destinations throughout the state.
The community itself is a small farming town with multiple opportunities for outdoor recreation. There are miles of level, off-road cycling,(ask about loaner bikes) and easy hiking trails through the riverside cottonwood forest. (The 'Bosque'). The Rio Grande valley is an important flyway for migrating birds. November through March the area is home to large flocks of sand hill cranes and several types of geese and duck. The village has its own rodeo arena with many events, a public tennis court and playground, a small library, a paved cycling trail and numerous equestrian pathways. Horse boarding may be available nearby. There is a large, gated-access locked entry for parking large trailers or RVs.
The sleeping area in the studio is in the upstairs loft accessed by a spiral staircase and unfortunately is not handicapped accessible. (The loft may not be suitable for adventurous toddlers as well) There is a comfortable king bed, leather couch and TV viewing/sitting area. A twin bed and a double 'day bed' is in the great room on the ground floor. A folding crib and high chair are available as well.
The building has an upstairs deck with a sun chairs and an umbrella. It is a suitable spot for stargazing or sunset watching. The downstairs has wrap around porches and is a great place to have happy hour or make a little BBQ.
The downstairs bathroom is fairly basic with a step in shower. (no bath) There are laundry facilities nearby in the town of Los Lunas.
We're certain that you will really enjoy the building and the setting. We have many repeat guests who wouldn't stay anywhere else. (Sorry- we are not able to host large parties or weddings.)

Your host. I love this place and know you will too!
Cyndy McCrossen purchased this house in 1992
The owner of this property, Cyndy, is very warm and gracious. We felt right at home. The thing that stands out, however, is that the property has tons of character. The inside guest quarters are Much larger than we expected. Outside, we enjoyed visiting with Steve the Rooster, Peaches the Whippet and the several sheep on the property. We had a great stay. It was everything we hoped for and more. The property was also close to several Great authentic New Mexican restaurants that we can't get at home. Barela's, Benny's and Teofilos were all excellent! If you happen to make it up to Santa Fe, then checkout The Shed. Another fantastic restaurant!
There was also relaxing on the beautiful wood upstairs outside balcony and taking an occasional turn on the swing hanging from a giant tree. Overall, in all honesty, I would have to say that the choice to stay at Bosque Farms was better than a hotel by a factor of 100! It also was cheaper. The owner should consider raising her prices:)
We had a great time. It was easy to get into Albuquerque. Our daughter loved the big swing and the sheep. The property was absolutely beautiful and quiet. Thank you!
We loved our stay in the artist's loft/studio. Very quiet setting and lots of space.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the "Bosque Belle", and definitely hope to stay there again! Cyndy was an incredible hostess, very friendly, and quickly responded to all of our questions, both before and during our stay. The rental was very well stocked; all we really needed to bring was food. The semi-rural nature of the area makes it a great place to kick back and relax off the beaten path, yet it's close enough to Albuquerque to be convenient. We stayed there for a week in January; we can't wait to come back and experience it in the spring or summertime. Highly recommended!
This cozy space was just what we were looking for. We never ventured into town, except for dinner, and thoroughly enjoyed our down time,- hearing the roosters, chickens and hanging out with the sheep too! The kitchen though small is very well equipped as is the rest of the studio with enough pillows, blankets, etc., for all. Our grandchildren had fun with all the board games and all the outdoor space as well as farm animals. Thank you for setting up such a cozy and lovely space in a very special setting.
This is a very nice and spacious adobe with a big loft containing another tv/lounge area and very comfortable king bed. The adobe is nicely decored, even has a great selection of books to get into the culture of new mexico. The area and property are bucolic and beautiful, worth the short drive from the city. Cyndy has been a very responsive host as well.
