We built this cozy, custom timber frame cabin for our home and to start a vacation rental business. We have lived in the Nashville area for 10 years and wanted to move to the country to build our dream home and enjoy the beautiful Gatlinburg-like surroundings. We have always enjoyed nature and wildlife but also wanted to be close to the modern conveniences that a city like Nashville has to offer, as well as the charm of historic Franklin and historic Leipers Fork area. The Natchez Trace Bridge is 2 miles from our home. Of course, the music aspect of our area can't be ignored!
Al or Karen Davis purchased this apartment in 2010
Unique, Gatlinburg-like fall away lot. Perfect for the chalet we had in mind and had wanted for years!
When I knew I was going to be in the Nashville area for work, I booked two nights at Timber Ridge onto the back end of the trip. I'm currently writing a book, and was looking for a spot in the area to hole up for a couple of extra nights so that I could work uninterrupted. This place turned out to be perfect for just that purpose. The hosts have thought of everything and then some (flowers and muffins at check-in, wow!). The space is furnished with a mix of old and new pieces and everything was easy to use and clean. The wifi was a big plus, because I could access my files online and didn't have to haul materials with me. I would definitely return again for work or pleasure. I have also recommended Timber Ridge to my friends who live in Nashville, in case they might want to sneak off for a little solo time for themselves sometime.
The Davis' couldn't have made our stay more special. We wanted for nothing.
The place is spacious, with all the comforts of home. The private entrance and outdoor space are welcoming. It is a hidden gem.
What a wonderful home. My husband and I had such a wonderful stay here and we definitely know we will be back. This home is nestled in the perfect location-seems remote but is close to everything that we could need or want!
Thank you for making us feel so at home.
Great location. Lovely property. Downtown Nashville for some music, historic Franklin for shopping at the quaint shops, lovely Arrington Vineyards for a wine experience, and fireplace and hot tub to wind down the evenings! We had a fabulous time!
We stayed at Timber Ridge for a mother daughter girls weekend - there were four of us and the cabin was so beautiful and comfortable for our 3 night stay...our only regret was not getting to stay LONGER! The accommodations were even better than pictured online - we were literally speechless when we walked in the door after a very long road trip. The shower/bathtub was AMAZING! The pull out sofa was exceptionally comfortable :) Thank you so much for the welcome muffins. When we drove up our first night and could see the cabin all lite up through the trees we were SO excited!! My only recommendation would be some sort of sign indicating your location - because sometimes "Siri" or GPS can be misleading, haha!! But thank you so much for everything and for making our little weekend getaway so special, we had such a great time in downtown Historic Franklin on St. Patty's day and a beautiful day in Nashville as well.
The property is perfectly located to take advantage of the Franklin, Leipers Fork and Natchez Trace Parkway area. Great to explore then come "home" to the lovely cottage retreat at Timber Ridge. Can't wait to return.

Please obtain travel insurance, particularly in the winter when inclement weather could pose a problem. We never have weather problems here at Timber Ridge and would contact you if we did. However, many folks come from other places where there is bad weather most of the winter.
