Mews homes are highly sought-after properties in London for their quiet locations and classic London charm. The mews are tiny cobblestone streets located just behind the main roads where stables used to be located for larger homes during the Victorian times. Nowadays, the mews in Kensington have been transformed into gorgeous multimillion-pound homes. At the Middleton, you can savor all the conveniences of a wonderfully central location while enjoying the comforts of a private family home in one of London's most exclusive spots.

Beautifully remodeled from top to bottom, this mews home features a comfortable living room and open plan kitchen and dining area on the ground level. Climb the stairs up one level to the first floor where you'll find the lovely master bedroom with en suite bathroom. Also on the same level are the pretty second and third bedrooms and the second bathroom. The comfortable sofa in the living room also converts into a double bed. The Middleton welcomes up to eight people in a stylish home setting in London. In addition, there is a large mobile air conditioner to keep you cool. You'll even find a study space with desk and a roof terrace on the second level - perfect for a quiet cup of tea or keeping in touch with family and friends.

Great location, cozy home, excellent communication

We had a wonderful stay over Christmas at this well-positioned property. We booked over a year in advance and throughout that time the communication with London Perfect, the team that manages this property, was excellent. They were very professional, courteous, and comprehensive.

The house is in South Kensington, a very upscale, understated, quiet area where a lot of embassies are located. It’s an easy 10 minute walk to the Gloucester tube station.

The home was well appointed and very comfortable. The beds were a bit hard but the linens were nice. There was a problem with the TV that took a day to fix and also a drainage issue with the shower that we reported so it could be addressed. There was lots of hot water and the space was well designed. Even though there was the 3rd bedroom with twin beds for our 12 year old, he loved sleeping in the perch up on the 3rd floor. It's not a full room per se, but more like a comfy cubby that he loved and felt was his own hideaway.

The space looks larger in the photos and I have found this to be true of most HomeAway/Air BnB rentals. There was a small Christmas tree (very sweet and really helped set the holiday ambiance) and cozy blankets. The dishwasher worked well but the washer and dryer took longer to complete cycles than we were accustomed to.

The pub next door, The Queen's Arms, is not to be missed! The manager and employees are incredibly friendly and the pub itself is as authentic and off the tourist path as you can get. Also, the noise from the pub quiets down early and didn't interfere with our rest.

We did use Lushi, the driver recommended through London Perfect, and we were very pleased that we did. Like London Perfect itself, Lushi was easy to communicate with, prompt, and very professional. It was so nice after getting in from a trans-Atlantic flight to have someone meet us and bring us to the house. Also, the prices were comparable to a cab and there was so much more provided in service in terms of meeting us at the arrival area.

London Perfect emailed us with a neighborhood guide that was *very* comprehensive and helpful. Definitely take the time to study this before you go.

This was a fabulous trip that was successfully facilitated by this lovely home and London Perfect. Although there were some quirks as mentioned above, they were more than made up for by positives. We are glad we stayed at the Middleton.

Rodents in the apartment

Our family of five was excited for our first trip to London and even more excited that we had found London Perfect and the MIddleton apartment. It was the perfect size and location and we had a very pleasant booking experience with the rental agency,. However, as we unpacked and prepared to go to bed on the evening of our arrival, a mouse ran through the hallway and into our daughters' bedroom, hiding under one of the two twin beds. Our girls were horrified and refused to sleep in the room. So we spent a very sleepless first evening with two of our girls joining us in the very small master bed. We attempted to reach the rental agency for assistance removing the mouse that evening, but could find no after-hours number. The rental agency called the following morning and immediately sent an exterminator to deal with the issue. Unfortunately, two days later, just as we were putting our girls to bed, another mouse emerged in the kitchen. We once again called the rental agency and they responded the following morning that we "just needed to wait for the mouse to take the bait laid out by the pest control expert" and "to let the poison do its work." While we believe this was an unusual incident, it was a considerable disruption to our stay. At L3,500 per week, we expected and received a lovely accommodation. But having to share the apartment with rodents was unacceptable to us and we felt as if the owner owed us some degree of recompense for the loss of the one bedroom as well as the loss of the kitchen (we weren't about to bring food into the kitchen after noting mouse droppings under the sink). The apartment owner refused "on the basis that mice can easily enter a home from outside especially this time of year" and "it is something no one has control over." London Perfect responded much more considerately and offered a 10 percent refund at its own cost, which we appreciated. On the basis of our experience with both the owner and the rental agency, we would recommend the services of London Perfect, but would certainly not recommend the Middleton. The owner's response to the situation was not what it should have been and I'm guessing that the apartment's location adjacent to a bustling pub might account for the presence of mice.

Outstanding location. Unique Mews home. Very highly recommended.

We just spent five nights at this property while visiting London. The location is perfect - an easy walk to several museums, Kensington Palace, and many places to eat/shop. The tube and Uber took care of the rest.

The home itself is excellent. As stated in the description, it really is a "charming Mews home", tucked in a small side street in the center of Kensington. There is a pub (The Queens Arms) two doors down. In warm weather, patrons tend to stand outside, and there can be a bit of street noise. However, at 9pm, it's everyone inside the pub, and the place goes quiet. We stopped in to the pub several times and were made to feel quite welcome. Gordon was especially nice.

The home itself is very cozy and was spotless upon our arrival. It has every amenity you could need (washer/drier, dishwasher, wifi). It is a unique space, having been a former carriage house, and we truly enjoyed staying there.

London itself is undergoing a tremendous construction boom, and this area is no different. Several houses on the street are being renovated, and the workman were busy during the day (8:30-4) but there was no noise in the evening or night. The owners did mention this before our arrival, but it really wasn't an issue at all.

Overall, we would highly recommend this home. If you are looking for a unique spot, pretty much in the heart of Kensington, this is a great place.

Our Kensington and South Kensington vacation rentals are located near the beautiful Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park.
