About Property Manager
We are from Central Florida. We have two children, both married. We are fortunate enough to have our children living near us and they all love to visit the lake house. Doug and our daughter are both Electrical Engineers and our son is a systems designer. I stayed at home and raised our children and have dabbled with interior design and I work from time to time on projects. We are looking forward to the time that we can stay at the lake house for longer than a week or 2 at a time. That will have to wait for now. Retirement is not in the near future for us.
Property Manager purchased this Cabin in 1998
Why Property Manager chose Topton
We searched every camping vacation we planned in North Carolina for a piece of land to purchase and dreamed of building a log home on it. We saw an add on the internet one Christmas Day and went up the following April to take a look with the realtor. The lake was crystal clear, so big. We decide to buy right then and there. Looked a few pieces of lakefront property but settled on this beautiful hollow on a large cove along the shoreline of the lake. This story was established in 1998 and we have enjoyed it ever since.
What makes this Cabin unique
We love this property for it's secluded feel and gentle slope to the water, no steps. That is much better for us flat landers. As we turn into the top of the driveway from the road we see our decorative gate and the emblem that says "Est. 1998". As we drive down the 1st part of the drive we are closed in by the beautiful and thick leyland cypress trees that line the driveway. It isn't until we make that first turn that we see the lake and the house. It's always a "wow" moment. The newest feature is the porte-cochere that we just built. A place to park the car without the rain or snow falling on us and covered steps to the front door. The concreted drive make is a breeze to get in and out of the drive now with our 4-wheel drive vehicle. Once we open the front door and walk into the house there is this expansiveness with windows all looking out to the back and the lake. We love the coziness of the exterior gas burning fireplace on the enclosed porch, the wood burning fireplace in the living space and the wood burning fireplace in the back overlooking the lake. The three levels give it the feeling like you may be the only one there while groups of people are playing pool and watching TV on the lower level, some napping in the upper level and hanging around the kitchen and the living space on the entry level. The enclosed porch is where I am most of the time, either reading or browsing the internet with a glass of wine and some cheese and crackers.

Perfect house for a family vacation! Stunning!
We chose this house for our extended family vacation over Thanksgiving. The house was perfect! The setup of the house allowed our family to have plenty time together yet still have quiet spaces to relax in. The house is well appointed with everything you need for a mountain stay. We enjoyed the fireplaces every day. The kids and adults loved the ping pong and pool table downstairs. The owners made sure we had everything we needed and were quick to respond to any questions. If you’re looking for a lovely home to relax, recharge and unwind in while enjoying the beauty and serenity of the mountains, this is the ideal house. We will definitely go back. Loved every minute of being there!
Excellent Get Away
First and foremost the house was incredible. There was plenty of room for our group of 10 to spread out and enjoy the comfortable space. The lake access was amazing and we were able to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather. The house was also extremely clean and well kept. I would definitely rent this property again if I ever plan another mountain/lake vacation.
Thank you for your very nice comments. We often have repeat summer vacationers and hope you will return soon. I did hear from housekeeper that your group left the house super clean and that is appreciated.
We are glad to hear that you were able to enjoy the lake and appreciate your kind compliments on the home.
Wonderful Family Vzcstion
My wife and I had a wonderful 50th anniversary celebration with our family . The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. The walk way to the lake was terraced with no problems walking. Hope to return agsin.
We had a wonderful week at a beautiful home! The getting there was a little tricky but worth the drive! The internet and cell phone service was limited and spotty. Overall a great week!
The property and the house were gorgeous. I took hundreds of nature photos and simply enjoyed sitting on the dock enjoying nature. My family loved the house and all its amenities. The pool table, ping pong table, and air hockey table were fantastic during the rain.
The property and house were clean, but there were a lot of millipedes in the basement and someone prior to our stay left their fishing tackle on the pier. The clothes dryer may need maintenance as it took 2 cycles to dry clothes, towels and linens.
When we arrived the housekeeper had set the inside alarm so it went off because we didn't have the code (we had the gate and door code) but the owner was able to help use resolve that. Our cell phones didn't work so we had to use the phone inside the house to call out for assistance.
The home was fantastic and just what we needed for a quiet family getaway. The lake is gorgeous and we were close to some hiking and a lot of rafting companies.
Thanks for the use of your home for our vacation and we hope to return in the future.
2nd times a charm........
Literally our 2nd visit to Stoneybrook. We enjoy the time on the lake and accessing the waterfall, the dam, and tubing all via our boat. The entire family all enjoy this cabin, the space, the access, and design of the home. It is a peaceful and a good place breakaway for a bit! Prepare ahead with meals and supplies. Unplug and Enjoy!
Zip Lining, pontoon boat rental on the lake at Lake's End Marina, guided/training fly fishing, local wineries and breweries offer live music most weekends beginning with Thursday.
