About Carla

Hi, we are the owners, John and Carla. We just celebrated 11 years of marriage! John is originally from Maine and Carla is from South Florida. We live in North FL and love to go to the mountains whenever we get the chance! We love the beautiful scenery, tubing, hiking to waterfalls, horseback riding, shopping and many shows.

Carla purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Carla chose Sevierville

We chose this property since it is close to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and many other attractions yet it is in a very peaceful area. The cabin has awesome mountain views all around. It is also not far from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park where you can tube, kayak, fish and hike.

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabin has three bedrooms, each with it's own bathroom. There are two levels with two decks on back to enjoy the amazing views. It is a very quiet, peaceful area.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"We really enjoyed staying at your cabin. It was very clean, comfortable and located well to get just about anywhere in the Smokies. It is decorated so nice, has a beautiful view and "comfy" beds as well....had two beautiful days riding motorcycles in the Smokies, it is a yearly event for us. Hopefully we can rent your cabin again next year as we enjoyed it so much."

Gorgeous Views!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the "Dancing Bears Cabin" with our family (total of 7 adults and one infant) during the week of Thanksgiving. We all enjoyed the beautiful view from the two decks on the back of cabin. When you walk out the front door there is another cabin across the drive, but behind it is a spectacular view of a large mountain. The first morning we woke to see snow on the top of it. It was breathtaking. Regarding the actual cabin, it was very comfortable, with ample space for all of us to enjoy being together in the living room/dining area. The kitchen is small, yet adequately equipped with pots, pans, plates, coffee mugs, glasses and utensils. The bedrooms are comfortable and have plenty of space in both the bedroom and the bath in each. I recommend bringing an air mattress if anyone will not be sharing a bed. There is a sofa bed, but it can only provide so much support. After all, it is a sofa bed. There are plenty of thick towels and washcloths. The washing machine and dryer are downstairs and seem to be fairly new. We did have a black bear pass through and saw several rabbits. You are definitely in nature. The owner, Carla, is very receptive and will address any questions you have very quickly.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We arrived after dark on a foggy evening, found our way to the residence through a security gate and gained access the residence. We were very happy with the accommodations. We settled in for the night and found games to play and televisions in each bedroom as well as the living room; each one of us could go our separate way to relax and rest up from the trip. Waking up the following morning was a pleasure, the fall mountain view was spectacular, we seen a whole mountain side of yellows, reds, oranges and browns. The home sets on a short road with four other homes. The place was clean and well kept , easily accessible and has the comforts of home. I would definitely stay here again

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Location, location, location! The views were spectacular and the quiet, peaceful mountain setting was exactly what we were seeking. The cabin could use some touch-ups, but was clean and exactly like the photos, and we saw a black bear and her cubs stroll by our deck one evening!

Beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

The place was beautiful. It was very clean. It was very nice that each bedroom had its own bathroom. While there are no flat roads in the area, the road up to this cabin wasn't as bad as most. The location is great. Its close to the national park and a lot of hiking and beautiful scenery, but still close enough to stores and other tourist attractions that either type of activity is only a short drive. One tip I would give to future visitors is to bring hand soap for the bathrooms as it is not provided as well as dish rags and dish towels. Soap for two loads of dishes was supplied as well as liquid dish soap. I didn't want to run the dishwasher for a few coffee cups and had wished I had known to bring stuff to hand wash them.

Owner's Response: I'm glad you had a good time and enjoyed our cabin. We think it's in a great location and beautiful as well. As for the soaps and things provided, it is provided in the documents with info for your stay, and the cleaner tries to leave a small sampler supply so you don't have to go to the store the night you get in, but with the Dollar General so close, it's easy to get to for additional supplies when you venture out the next day. As for the dish rags and towels sometimes things have gone missing so we will replenish anything that the cleaner doesn't supply when we get up there, at least once a year. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Location

Our cabin is in a great location close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg with lots of things to do and has awesome views. The Smoky Mountain National Park is less than two miles away and has beautiful scenery with hiking trails and falls to see. The little Greenbriar school is close and interesting to see as well. The must see in the National Park is Cade's Cove! You can also go horse back riding near Cade's Cove. Not far away is Gatlinburg where there is Ripley's Aquarium and Ober Gatlinburg! Dollywood and Dixie Stampede are great places for the family. Cherokee, NC also has lots of history and the show 'Unto these Hills' in the amphitheater. Lots of things to do!
