Let The Good Times Roll!!
Richard Pokojski purchased this house in 2001
We chose this property because the cape truly is 'Old Florida' on the Forgotten Coast.
Our family enjoys fishing, boating, swimming, scalloping, campfires on the beach and sharing good times with new and old friends in a very unique, natural and rare place.
The house was clean, all the amenities working as expected. Easy to park a boat right by the house. Close to beach access and bay access if kayaking.
The house was great and in a good location near the park. Loved the wrap around porches. It is close to the beaches but not really within walking distance. The bay was walkable but grassy and muddy, not clear water so not a good place to go to. There were a couple of very good restaurants on the island and some good fishing. There is a beautiful remote beach at st Joes state park but there were also flies that stung you... Heard from a local it was in season for them in October. All In all very happy with the house.
We found the property to be very well equiped. It was clean and had all the amenities necessary for our stay. We had a problem with the upstairs AC but the owner very promptly had a repair service come out and repair the problem. We really enjoyed our stay at Cape Bon Temps and would definitely stay there again.
My husband and I spent a week celebrating our anniversary here and absolutely loved it. We enjoyed coffee and several meals sitting on the big wrap around porches looking at the trees. We saw deer, hawks, and lizards all from the house! The third floor of the house has a fun little bar set up and was a great place to wind down in the evenings. There is a fun frozen drink maker in the kitchen that worked really well, but the knives and pans have seen some wear, what you expect from a beach house exposed to a lot of harsh elements, just pack stuff from home accordingly. The jacuzzi in the upstairs bathroom is great and the ability to open the little cupboard doors and see outside while relaxing was very nice. Gulf beach access is a short walk from the house, and there is a great cleaning set up at the house if you like to fish. The proximity to St. Joseph Peninsula State Park is fantastic. We visited every day and the beaches there are some of the best in the world and it's easy to find a quiet stretch, even during busy times of year. Richard was absolutely wonderful to work with and changed plans for his own vacation so that we could use the house for our anniversary. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect stay.
The property was as advertised and we enjoyed our stay. We did have an issue with the A/C upon arrival but when I called to report the problem it was promptly fixed and we were cool all week. Thanks Richard. The house was clean and well equipped for our weeks stay. We had plenty of room for our car and truck and boat. We enjoyed being close to the State Park and we used the bay access point to launch our kayaks. If you like to fish which is the main reason for our trip it is set up good for fish cleaning and boat parking. My four star rating is not an indication that something was wrong or could have been better but just that this is not a 5 star luxury suite with pool and game room and all kind of amenities and it is not advertised as such. If you are looking for that you will have to look else where but if you are looking for a nice house for 2 - 4 guess at a reasonable price you have found your house. I would definitely stay here again. Also the Trading post which is about 2.5 miles away is nicely stocked if you forgot something. We also enjoyed eating at the Sand-bucket which is on 30E and also back in Port St Joe on Reeds Street at Joe Mama's Pizza. Thanks allowing us the use of your home.
Thanks Again Chris
Super nice and clean. Owner was a great communicator and made sure our stay was carefree. It was our 28th anniversary and we both were happy. Sun for her and fishing for me side by side. We so look forward to staying here again.
