Via di Grotta Pinta is ideal for a stay in Rome because, despite the central location, is a silent and quiet street. The street takes its name from the arch "Grotta Dipinta" and from the fact that the arch was frescoed with the "Virgin of Grottapinta". The street also hosts the small church of S. Maria di Grottapinta.

With a short walk you can reach Via dei Giubbonari, Piazza Campo de Fiori and Corso Vittorio Emanuele II!

Campo de 'Fiori is one of the most renowned and ancient districts in Rome, with some of the most interesting tourist sites and is also famous for its many shops, bars and restaurants.

The narrow streets allow you to walk on foot or by bicycle and easily reach Piazza Navona, take a walk in Via dei Coronari (the paradise for antique collectors), see the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi with the masterpieces of Caravaggio. The streets of Campo de Fiori allow you to move on foot or by bike and can easily reach Piazza Navona, up to the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and the most important archaeological sites.

Perfect apartment

Left on 08/26/2013 for a stay in August 2013

We loved our stay in Rome. The location couldn't have been better. The apartment was so comfortable and just perfect for our needs. If we ever go back we will stay here again. Lucia even had a little tray of goodies she left for us.

Location and attention to detail

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is exactly as it looks in the photos! What you can’t see is the amazing location. If you are interested in staying in the heart of Rome, with the cobblestone streets, markets, cafes, restaurants and shops - look not further. Lucia was gracious and made sure we had all the comforts we needed- with help getting a taxi from the airport ,to having bottled water, American coffee and biscuits for breakfast. The kitchen is not for gourmets- it allowed us to cook simple meals- but we did not come on vacation to cook- so it was perfect. The size of the apartment was good enough for our family of 4. It was clean and beautifully decorated. You will not find a better place in this area for this price.

Clean, comfortable, beautifully designed, great location, every detail thought of by the owner!

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful apartment in one of the best locations!

The owner communicated with me from the moment I booked! She was absolutely wonderful! When we arrived she walked us through the apartment and it’s amenities. While we settled in, she walked around the corner to FORNOs & bought us a pizza!

The linens and beds were very comfortable- even the pull out sofa was comfortable - the apartment is also beautifully designed with well appointed lighting and she has many Rome tour books to look through.

Location is spectacular- there is a gate in across from the apartment door that leads to Campo di Fiore. Every day we did a major site and there were two taxi stands within a short distance. Every afternoon we came back to the apartment and then easily walked to: Piazza Novana, Pantheon, Victor Emmanuel Monument, Jewish Ghetto, Trevestere, - all the above was a 6-10 min walk. We also walked to Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps (approx 20 minute walk)

I loved starting my day at the Campo di Fiore market

Although it was fine for us, please know it is a garden floor apartment. No stairs was a plush and the piazza outside was quiet at night. The shower is also a touch small but we made it work.

Overall an excellent place I would definitely rent again!!!!!

Excellent location, excellent apartment

  • 5 of 5

We (family of 4) have rented this apartment 3 times and will continue to stay here each time we come to Rome. The apartment is very clean and well maintained. The location is excellent for exploring! We can easily walk to Piazza Novona, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, and Roman Forum. You can even walk to explore other neighborhoods such as Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto. It is less then a minute walk to Campo de Fiori which is the perfect place to buy some fruit for breakfast and to Roscioli to buy bread or pizza for lunch. Lucia is so helpful and easy to work with. Last time we arrived around lunch and she bought us some pizza because she knew we had not eaten yet. She also arranges for a taxi to drive us to the train station or airport at the end of our trip. This location is highly recommended.

Fantastic apartment and location

  • 5 of 5

Lucia was a great host; welcomed us, explained the apartment and it’s surroundings and made us feel at home. The apartment itself is nicely furnished - fit three people just fine. Ample towels and other necessities were provided and is conveniently located on the first floor promoting ease of access. The real selling point is it’s location, no more than a 15-20 min walk to all of the sights you’d want to see, and tons of fantastic restaurants and bars very close by. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to stay in a comfortable apartment that could not be more centrally located.

Great location and outstanding host

  • 5 of 5

Lucia was an amazing host - she was very helpful w/ every detail and extremely responsive to any questions before our trip and during our stay. The apartment was perfect for the two of us - it is in a great location very close to everything in Rome but away from all of the commotion of the tourist attractions. We were able to walk to the Vatican City, Colesseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Novona, Piazza Venezia and just steps away from Campo de’ Fiori. There are many restaurants, pizzerias, cafes and shopping choices right in the neighborhood and there is a great local grocery store (Express) just a block away. We loved everything about our stay at Lucia’s apartment - it was very clean when we arrived, very nicely decorated, and a wonderful place to come back to after each day of exploring the sights of Rome. We could not have asked for more and would definitely stay here again the next time we travel to Rome. Thank you Lucia for helping to make our first trip to Rome such a great experience.

Campo de ' Fiori market in Piazza Campo de' Fiori opens at 6am and closes at 2pm everyday (except Sunday).

Located in the heart of the old town, the most picturesque market of Rome is also one of the richest in history.

The name Campo de ' Fiori might suggest a flower market, comes from the Latin Campous Florae, Flora.

Mistress by the great Roman general Pompey, the market has been held here for several centuries. Every morning except Sunday, piazza fills with colorful stalls selling fruit and vegetables, meat, poultry and fish.

One or two stalls offer pulses, rice, dried fruit and nuts, while near the fountain, in the square there are flowers stalls.

The main attractions, however, are the huge baskets of broccoli and spinach, or vegetables already cut and ready for the soup, and fresh mixed salads.

In addition to a feast for the palate, are also a pleasure for the eyes. The best delis and bakeries around the square complete the range of products offered and this market becomes the place to make all necessary provisions for a picnic, in summer, if the weather is nice, cool off with your snack on the lawns of one of the many city parks

If it is sunny, you'll catch a few young people and older gentlemen sitting at the base of a statue in the middle of the open space. The statue is a brooding, hooded Giordano Bruno - an excommunicated Dominican monk burnt at the stake for heresy on this spot on 17 Feb. 1600. The piazza is used as a marketplace during the day, and party central for college students and tourists at night. When the sky gets dark and the street lamps go on, Campo de' Fiori fills with people and lovers wander arm in arm in the crowd. Over the buzzing of conversation and the occasional burst of laughter you may hear a young vocalist belt out O Sole Mio at the top of his lungs as change plunks into his accordion case
