This house comfortably accommodates a family of 8.
Three bedrooms with 2 full bath one with standing shower downstairs and one with a jet tub upstairs.
The master bedroom has a king bed and the other two bedrooms have queen beds in them.
There is a pullout sofa in the living room that turns into a queen bed.
The kitchen is fully stocked with refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave oven, a range/oven, coffee maker, toaster and a blender, dishes, glassware and cookware.
The dining room accommodates 8 people around the table. There is another table in the kitchen with 4 chairs.
If you need more than 3 bedrooms you can also rent the lower unit which is a full one bedroom apartment accommodating 4 guests.

After Georgetown to the west, Capitol Hill is Washington's oldest neighborhood. In its earliest days, most of the residents were members of Congress who lived in boarding houses and dormitories surrounding the Capitol. As the neighborhood evolved, row houses replaced boarding houses and the Hill began to grow as a neighborhood filled with families, as well as Washington's who's who. As you walk around this stately neighborhood, don't be surprised if you see faces you've seen in the news. A number of senators and representatives make their home on the Hill.
In addition to the U.S. Capitol, the Hill includes other significant American landmarks such as the U.S. Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, the Folger Shakespeare Library, Union Station, the U.S. Marine Corps Barracks, the Washington Naval Yard, Congressional Cemetery, Lincoln Park, and the Eastern Market. All of these sights are within easy walking distance and most are Metro-accessible. Just down the hill from the Capitol is the National Mall with all of the monuments and memorials iconic to Washington, as well as more than 10 museums and galleries of art and artifacts.
To the east of the Capitol is the Eastern Market—one of the only remaining merchant markets left in Washington. While the market bustles during the week, it is on the weekends that it acquires its character and charm as residents from all over the city and visitors from all over the world come to the market to enjoy breakfast; purchase fresh meats, produce, and breads; stroll through the adjacent flea market; and browse the latest art and jewelry crafted by local artists and artisans.
During the spring and summer months, a visit to the U.S. Marine Corps Barracks at 8th and I Streets SE will allow you to see the Marine Corps Silent Drill Team in action. This 24-man rifle platoon performs precision maneuvers with their 10.5 lb M-1 Garand rifles with fixed bayonets.
Over at the U.S. Capitol, the newly opened visitor's center allows visitors to experience the Capitol from the ground up. The center features several state statues in Emancipation Hall and a museum that chronicles the history of the U.S. Capitol from its cornerstone laying in 1789 by George Washington to the present day. Tickets for the Senate and House galleries are available here.
The Library of Congress' Jefferson Building, just across the street from the Capitol, is the world's largest repository of books and media in the world. The building is open to the public and the Renaissance and classical art are breathtaking.
These and other sites make staying on Capitol Hill a must if you're visiting Washington on business or for pleasure.

We have 2 daughters who are grown and are on their own ( not really, if you are a parent you know) and a 14 pound Schnoodle ( he thinks he is a giant). We have been living in the DC metro area for about 36 years and absolutely love it. Washington DC is a beautiful city, it really is and for people coming here to spend their vacations or attend conferences, weddings, funerals (The Arlington Cemetery), graduations, sight seeing, festivals etc. etc. there isn't any city that offers so much.
I manage the properties and Ana tells me what to do (!!!) We are a great team and enjoy doing what we do.

I chose this rental for the location (convenience to the Metro as well as to a grocery store), its size (3 bedrooms easily fit our family of 5) and its price (reasonable by Washington D.C. standards). All of the expectations were met and our time here was mostly positive. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. I really commend the owners for the lovely kitchen. All the appliances were of good quality and the kitchen very usable. We had breakfast here each day and I cooked dinner one evening- everything felt like home. The bedrooms were fine. The master bedroom is very large and I appreciated the space. Our daughters shared the back bedroom (with a queen bed) and it was great and our son was in the middle bedroom with a double. He had more than enough room. Two bathrooms are very appreciated with a family of 5 and both of them were upgraded. The shower in the downstairs bath was much better than the upstairs, though, so we all used that one by choice. I loved having the ability to do laundry and popped in a couple loads to help with the dirty clothes pile we accumulated. Plenty of bedding, towels, dishes, toilet paper, etc. The biggest negative was the noise and roughness of the neighborhood directly across the street. I know it's been mentioned by many reviewers but I would be doing a disservice to potential customers if I didn't mention the housing project across the street. I was thankful our master bedroom faced that street because the loud language and scuffles we heard throughout the night would have troubled my overly-sensitive kids. We chose to use the back exit most often and it was the most direct route to the Metro and the wonderful grocery store so that worked out. There are many locks on the doors and I double checked them each night. Also worth noting: the parking is less than ideal. With the renters below us, we had to shuffle our car around to allow them to exit and the poor woman from the lower apartment rammed her car over a cement barrier trying to back out (VERY TIGHT ALLEY), she had to call an auto rescue. Nothing is perfect so as long as you go into this rental with the facts, you will most likely be pleased. Owner communication was very good and security deposit was promptly refunded as well.
Plenty of room in this tastefully renewed DC Rowhouse! We are a family of 5 with young kids and this was a safe and friendly neighborhood and was oh-so conveniant with an awesome grocery down the street and easy access to the Metro so we could be at all the attractions in just minutes. We could not have hoped for a more generous and accomidating host! Allen was prompt to respond to any request we had and we will be recommending his properties highly to anyone we know staying in the area. Home has been thoughtfully accented with all kinds of helpful additions to make your stay more comfortable and its all these little extras that set this place apart from so many of the other vacation properties that we've stayed at. Just to be honest and full-discloser, there were a few loud nights that carried-over from the apartments across the street but this was very minor and typical (from our experience) for a few nights in any big city. Thanks so much, Allen!! We could not have hoped for a better stay!!
Beautiful old row house in Capitol Hill neighborhood. Owner is courteous and print if you need him. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are all functionally furnished. Jacuzzi jets in upstairs bathroom a plus. None of the bathrooms are ensuite with any bedroom, and one bathroom is down on the main floor, so all 3 bedroom occupants tend to want to use upstairs. Though the shower is better downstairs. Kitchen has new appliances and a good coffee maker. Back years table is a bonus. Lovely place to enjoy morning coffee. Walk down to 8th for lovely pastry, coffee, lunch, dinner and nightlife.
We were a group of 9 visiting DC for the first time. This rental was the perfect home base for us. There beds were all comfortable, the sheets were clean and there was plenty of hot water with good water pressure. These are the three of the standards I use to rate a place to stay. Even with 9 adults in the house we never felt on top of each other. The kitchen was small but well stocked.
The location was great. The nearest metro station was about 5 blocks away but was an easy 10 minute walk. (The closest metro station was closed due to construction on line.) The Circulator bus stopped on 8th street which was also an easy 10 minute walk back to the house. It was very nice to be able to use public transportation to get around the city. We had no issues with the neighborhood. I did not notice any more street noise that I have experienced in any other city. The Harris Teeter grocery store was an easy 5 minute walk. We ate at several nearby restaurants. The food was one of my favorite parts of the trip. Almost any food could be found within a few blocks of the house on both 8th and Pennsylvania. Easter Market was also worth the trip on a weekend.
I would not hesitate to recommend this home is you have a group visiting the DC area. Allen was very accommodating and quickly responded to one minor issue we had during the trip.
We had a great stay and appreciated how close we were to the metro, bus, and grocery store. We had a group of 8 and fit comfortably. I paid the $3k deposit and was happy with how quickly it was returned.
If you are looking to convenience and a good deal this may be the place.
As advertised, three bedrooms and two baths. Largest room is street side (front) and has a king bed. The room is large. Other two bedrooms are small and smaller. Bedroom on the rear of the house is not well configured and you can’t easily get to the far side of the bed. There is not closet in this bedroom. The beds in small and smaller bedrooms are very close to the floor and may be difficult for older people to get in and out of.
Living room and dining room are comfortable. Kitchen is small but workable. Floors throughout the house are either wonderfully creaky or annoyingly so. No quiet late night or early morning passage in this place.
Particularly in the front bedroom, there is a lot of street noise. You’ll hear emergency vehicles several times an hour up and down Pennsylvania Avenue. If you are accustomed to city life, it probably won’t bother you. It was a bit loud for us, but the fan provided in the room did a good job of drowning out the sounds.
Convenience: Grocery store is a short walk around the block. Nice well stock Harris-Teeter, be sure to get a discount card. Potomac Ave. Metro station is a long block away. Bus stands are less than a block. There are not many restaurants in the immediate area. There are numerous restaurants just west near the Eastern Market Metro station.
I am not an experienced VRBO person, but this property needs some basic maintenance. Nothing major but it seems to be a little neglected. Not a sharp knife in the kitchen.
As other reviewers have stated, the house is directly across the street is the Potomac Garden DC Public Housing. On Saturday morning at 1:30AM, we heard 8-10 gun shots, apparently from two weapons. Police response was impressive, under a minute, and lots of them. Honestly, I wouldn’t not stay here because of the proximity of the public housing. Just be smart.
I’m giving 4 out of 5 stars because of the wear & tear.
If you are going to DC for a family vacation, I would recommend this property.
