Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Russell’s Revelstoke Retreat is post and beam design at its best. The house was built in 1976 by the owner of the Downie Street Sawmill using local, old-growth, cedar that is unavailable to today’s builders. This 4600 square foot home sits directly above the Columbia River with an expansive view of the river and Monashee Mountains.

Trees and gardens surround the 1/2 acre property that is located at the end of a quiet lane, near the centre of town. Shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants are a 5 minute walk away - perfect for your morning croissant or evening meal.

Enjoy the views through the floor to ceiling windows that surround each level. The home is the epitome of open concept design with no view obstructed. After a day in the mountains you can warm up by one of the two custom brick beehive designed gas fireplaces, gather on the cozy couches looking over the river and snowcapped mountains, or relax downstairs in the entertainment area.

The open concept kitchen is fully equipped with two sinks, stainless steel cookware, appliances and dinnerware. The cherry dinning table comfortably seats eight. An open, custom built staircase, provides a dramatic entrance to the family entertainment area and second gas fireplace on the lower level.

The home is well suited for three couples or families/groups of up to eight. In addition to the master bedroom (king) on the upper level and two bedrooms (queen) on the lower level, we have included a sofa bed and futon for additional sleeping capacity.

A covered carport provides parking for two vehicles with space for an additional vehicle in the driveway. This home has thought of everything, including a large welcoming entrance with ski boot dryers.

Keywords: Dramatic Vacation Home 4400 sq ft. in downtown Revelstoke, 5 km from Revelstoke Mountain Resort: 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms; double jacuzzi, 2 gas fireplaces, 40 inch LCD flat screen TV,CD and DVD player and surround sound, wireless internet 3 additional TV's and local phoning, security, boot drying racks, laundry and lots of space for a luxurious vacation

About Dylan Hardy

Our family has always loved the mountains and outdoors. After 20 years of exploring British Columbia and Alberta we decided that Revelstoke was the place we wanted to put down roots. In fact…we fell in love with the people, the city, and the spectacular natural beauty of Revelstoke on the first day of our first trip here. The rest is history.

We hope you enjoy the same magic that draws us to this special place.

Dylan Hardy purchased this chalet in 1997

Why Dylan Hardy chose British Columbia Mountains

This home and the property spoke to us. The unique post and beam construction, the stunning views afforded by the open concept design, and the quiet yet central location created the perfect combination of design elements and practical use as a vacation home.

What makes this chalet unique

Excellent rental in Revelstoke

  • 5 of 5

This place in Revelstoke is top-notch in every regard. The house is very comfortable, with lots of space. Given the house is perched on the Columbia river, the views of that and the mountains just on the other side of the river are stunning - a great place to relax after being active in the mountains. The location is very convenient to the ski hill (about a 5 minute drive) and everything in town is a short walk from the house. Dylan is a very accessible and helpful host.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

This is a well appointed, clean, comfortable, spacious residence within 10 minutes of the ski hill and a few blocks from downtown and restaurants. Kitchen was well stocked with all the condiments/ spices/ utensils necessary to cook up a good meal. I would book again.

Great spot in Revy

  • 5 of 5

Really great spot in heart of Revelstoke... huge place, unbelievably tucked into a side street just a couple blocks from the downtown. Better in Revelstoke to stay near downtown than the hill which gets quiet at night. Great kitchen, huge communal spaces, killer views over the river and to the mountains. 100% recommended.

Great location, big open plan house, perfect for us after each of th e5 long days on the mountain in the snow, might not be good for kids, but perfect for us, near everything within a 10 minute walk.

Awesome property

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 nights at this property on a guys ski trip. It is by far the best equipped and best supplied house I have ever rented and we've been renting through VRBO for years. The kitchen was great for preparing meals and had all the basics and plenty more. The house is spacious with a tremendous view of the Columbia river and the mountains beyond. The house was clean, well organized and as described in the listing. The owner was a pleasure to deal with throughout the whole booking and rental process. It is only a 5 minute drive to Revelstoke Mountain Resort. We would definitely return here on our next ski trip.
