About Tammy Wooldridge

I have lived my entire life on the North Olympic Peninsula. I am very fortunate to live here and it is a beautiful place to visit. I have three adult children who still love to spend time and enjoy the waters of Lake Sutherland. I work and live in Port Angeles, but try to spend some weekends escaping life's demands by relaxing at the lake. I have a sign at the cabin that reads, 'If you are lucky enough to live on the water, you are lucky enough'. That says it all!

Tammy Wooldridge purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Tammy Wooldridge chose Olympic Peninsula

Lake Sutherland is a prime piece of property on the North Olympic Peninsula. This cabin was bought in 2003 and fully remodeled in 2004 - 2005. There is a public boat launch on the south shore side of the lake. This location is 10 minutes away from the Olympic National Park, 40 minutes from Forks, WA., home of Twilight books and movies and a ferry ride to British Columbia, Canada.

What makes this cabin unique

Fishing, boating, kayaking, tubing, skiing, bird watching, hunting, family time.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I have to say, it's the most beautiful place I ever stayed. Thank you Tammy. I will be back!

Perfect lake getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Cabin! We should have stayed for longer than we did. The cabin had all that we needed, and the view was spectacular. The use of the double kayak was a huge bonus, and my husband took our kids out on the lake many times. Being able to grab a coffee in the morning and just walk down to the dock was so relaxing. Our kids said that the pull out sofa bed was super comfy. The location was convenient for all that we wanted to see and do in Olympic National Park. I highly recommend this cabin for a couple or a small family. I want to go back!!!!

What a treat!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin right on Lake Sutherland is both cozy and charming! You feel as if you are staying in someone's well-loved lake cabin, not a rental. It is very well stocked with anything you need to enjoy the lake, even a kayak! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Beautiful Views!

  • 4 of 5

We loved our 2 night stay at the Cozy Cabin. The views from all of the windows were gorgeous. Even though I had read the description of the trail down to the cabin, I was a little taken aback by its steepness. I went along as a "spotter" as my husband carried down our bags. There was a 2 person luggage cart that we opted not to use. I had to call Tammy because we couldn't get the door unlocked, but she answered promptly and told us the "trick" to get it open. The cabin had everything we needed including binoculars and several flashlights. The queen bed was comfortable, if a little tight squeeze in the small bedroom. It was very windy for our stay, so we unfortunately didn't get a chance to use the kayaks. We enjoyed sitting aside around the fire pit. The only downside was the crowds of the weekend before the 4th of July holiday. The next-door neighbors included several teenagers and 20-somethings who very "festive" until late night. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to active couples.

The PERFECT base for exploring Olympic National Park, centrally-located to the park's highlights!

  • 5 of 5

If you've come to the peninsula because you love nature and the outdoors but camping isn't for you, this is the place for you! You feel like you're living in the wild, yet have all the comforts of home. The pictures don't even do it justice; the living room is larger than expected. Everything was very clean and the owner stocks the cabin with everything a traveler might forget [flashlights, binoculars, trail books, chargers, umbrella]. It was wonderful for my husband and I to be able to cook all our meals in the cabin, pack a lunch, and head off to the park. After hiking each day, it was a treat to spend the evening by the fire pit, gazing out at the beautiful lake. Each night we could rest up for the next day's adventures because the bed is awesome: comfortable mattress and soft, high quality bedding. Finally, I felt pampered wearing the white, terrycloth robe Tammy provided! Thank you!

If we ever make it back to the Olympic Peninsula, we definitely want to stay in this cabin again!
