Situated on 7.5 wooded acres, ONE MILE from Moores Creek boat ramp on Lake Monroe, this newly built log home offers the best of both worlds. After a long day of boating, water skiing, or fishing, guests can return home and relax in the hot tub or continue the day's fun in the games room playing pool or darts. The Fairfax State Recreation area is also nearby for swimming at Lake Monroe. Guests can bring their own water craft or they can rent a boat from one of the local rental companies. The cabin reservation includes complimentary use of three kayaks (liability waiver must be signed prior, and guests must transport to the lake.) The Lake House sleeps 6 guests and is just minutes away from Bloomington, IU, and Nashville where good dining, entertainment, and shopping are in abundance.

Five minutes from Lake Monroe! Also, just a 15 minute drive to the cosmopolitan university town of Bloomington, IN.
The owners are easy to communicate with and the cabin is fantastic!
a few of my friends and I took the weekend and stayed at the Lake House. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the place is very nice and well-kept. The cabin is up-to-date and was clean. The hot tub was nice but was having a technical issue the morning of the second day. I called the owner, Peter, and he was there and repaired it within hours on a Saturday. I appreciated the awesome guest service. Thank you!!
Cabin was awesome! Stairs leading to hot tub do need to be secured a little more. Loved sitting on the side porch to stargaze and enjoy the sounds. Had a great time relaxing! Would definitely come back.
This log home offered much more than we utilized. It has a hot tub, (3) 1-person kayaks with life vests and paddles, pool table, dart board, a couple televisions & great natural woods to hike. We were able to spread out as there were (3) sleeper sofas as well as two king beds. Probably better for older guys like us with some extra weight to take the beds as they offer more support than the sleepers. One guy in our group switched from the main living area sleeper one night to the king bed the next night and slept much better. Good communication with owners via email. Located about 15 minutes from the IU campus. Very quiet at night for optimal rest. Located in the woods so an occasional spider or web can be expected. We had to evict one of them :) Certainly not scarey enough for us to lower our star rating. Would stay here again!
We are from the Washington DC area and booked the Lake House to stay in because our daughter got married at an orchard in Bloomington and none of the condos in downtown bloomington were available. I am a city girl. I am NOT a cabin in the woods girl. BUT....this cabin was amazing. The pictures really don't do it justice, in my opinion. It was clean, beautiful, and more than suited our needs. I catered the wedding and, though I'd done most of the cooking in DC and transported it, the kitchen in the cabin was a Godsend to be able to do the finishing touches. I brought much of my own equipment, but could have packed much lighter. There's plenty there for most cooks to be able to put a meal together. I wish we had planned to stay longer to be able to really relax and enjoy the place and the surroundings. It feels superbly secluded, but you are still within about 10 minutes of suburban civilization (grocery and other shopping and restaurants) and 20-25 minutes of [the very cute] downtown Bloomington (We strongly recommend the Irish Lion restaurant on Kirkwood Avenue).
There are journals on the living room table in which previous guests have written about their stays in the cabin. We enjoyed reading those the first night. We did use the hot tub, which was incredibly welcome after an 11 hour drive. We didn't get to meet Peter and Suzanne, but I spoke to Peter on the phone a couple of times and he was incredibly nice. If it weren't so far away, this would be a place we would ABSOLUTELY frequent.
nice place, but car parking only.to park a boat or rv you must back off or back on main road.main road is busy with blind entrance both ways.
inside beware of tacks along carpet edge they will hurt bare feet.overall clean except ceiling fans and return vents had lots of dust buildup and cobwebs.
and beware of neighbor shooting guns within 100ft.of cabin.
