Discover the unique experience and rustic charm of a cabin and pond setting in the beautiful piney woods of Beaver Creek, Louisiana. The natural surroundings create the perfect setting for a family getaway, offering an adventure with nature that everyone will remember for a lifetime.
The cabin and pond are located on the 130 acre Guillory Farm in a small community called Beaver Creek in South Central Louisiana in Evangeline Parish. This area of Louisiana looks similar to East Texas with tall stately pine trees and dogwood and redbud trees growing into the landscape.
The appeal of the cedar boarded Colorado-styled cabin begins with a front porch with a swing, and a huge wood deck which features a swing and comfortable rocking chairs, and a spectacular view of the four acre fishing pond and natural surroundings. The cabin includes new air conditioning and heating systems for the comfort of all guests. The main bedroom features two large double beds, while a smaller bedroom has two bunk beds, ideal for the younger family members. In addition, the comfortable sofa in the living area easily converts to another double bed. A guest can enjoy the extra large lounge chair while watching a variety of fishing videos on the 40 inch flat screen television. The kitchen offers a full sized stove, oven and microwave. Guests are reminded that fish frying and crawfish boiling is restricted to the outdoor area. Smoking inside the cabin is strictly prohibited.
The pond has been generously stocked with black bass, copper nose blue gill fingerlings and redear/shellcracker (referred to as chinquapin in Louisiana). The blue gills are automatically fed multiple times daily utilizing Purina Aqua Max high protein fish food, while the black bass diet consists of small blue gill, fat head minnows and crawfish. As of 2010, Hybrid Stripped Bass have been added to the pond for fishing enjoyment and are “catch and release” only. This bass do not reproduce so it is imperative that they be released back in to the pond.

The place was great so nice and clean we had a great time EXCEPT we didn't get any fish really hardly got any bites so we were a little disappointed about that other wise everything was awesome
The biggest downfall to the stay was the fish not biting. We think the combination of the fish being fed by an automatic feeder and the summer heat, we didn't catch but two small bluegills. Other than that it was a very relaxing environment. My daughter and son in-law came meet us for a day and night, and they plan in going back in the fall.
Family and I enjoyed the best fathers day weekend I have ever experienced, my son had blisters on his hands and thumbs from 3 days of non stop fishing and never complained. Lots of wildlife, we were able to see a spotted fawn in the yard, Bald Eagles around the pond, etc.. Great family fun and a well stocked cabin and pond. Hope to see y'all again pretty soon.
Thanks again for a great time.
This was our second time here. Last year we came in early March, this year was the first week in June. We waited for our grandson to get out of school. Living in New Orleans he does not do any fishing. The bream & catfish were not turning on liked I hoped for. So we fished for bass. I was throwing everything, finally I went with old faithful, plastic worm. First one 2# 8oz. Our grandson, Payton, learned to work the worm & caught his first nice bass, 1#13oz. That made Wendy and I worth the whole stay. This place is great! We bar-b-qued, fried fresh South Lafourche 10-15 jumbo shrimp. We are planning our next trip already. If you like to be secluded, love to fish, or just chill out. This is the place. We have good pictures& weights of our fish. But most of all great memories. Thank you for having such a great place. Me and my husband go every year, but this year we decided to bring our children. they had so much fun they are planning on going back. rained the first night, but didn't stop them from fishing lol. they fished while i sat on the swing and relaxed all weekend. really enjoyed it!
We do a guys fishing trip every spring and went here this year and we enjoyed every bit of it. The drive from I-10 is easy and all state highway. Walmart is within 10 miles as well as eateries. The fishing was decent, the bass seemed to only want top water. Bream seemed to hang around the dock and the feeders. The cabin was very clean and well furnished. We had ample room for 4 adult men. I would certainly consider staying here again especially with the very fair pricing. Thanks for a wonderful trip.
