This is a large 1200 sq ft, 2 bedroom apartment that was renovated in July 2010. It's in the best neighborhood in New Orleans. Ten blocks to the French Quarter. It's a spacious apartment occupying the entire top floor of the building. The nine huge windows that measure 3 ft wide x 9' tall add to the character of 160 year old home. There are coffee shops, restaurants and shops all around, up and down the streets in this charming neighborhood. The home is the perfect hangout. The bus stops on this corner also.

Since I am born and raised in New Orleans and I live near by, I knew that the home had a lot of rich history. I always did love this place and was glad when I had the opportunity to purchase it.

What makes this apartment unique

The home is in a great location. It is close to the French Quarter, plus there are restaurants, coffee shops, bars and pubs all around here. The bus stops here or I can take nice walk or ride a bike and within minutes, eating at one the finest restaurants in the world.

Great time, nice place, better price.

Our group had a wonderful time staying at this property. It was easy to find and easy to access. The apartment is recently updated with two bedrooms and two pull out couches in the living room. Its about a 20 minute walk to the center of Frenchman Street and Bourbon street is only another 10 minutes from there. One of our group may have left a phone, so there's a bonus for the next tenant!

Great apartment, but just noisy area

The owner was great to work on the apartment. The apartment was updated with new paint and flooring. The bedrooms are big and beds comfortable. There are a lot of great places to eat. Recommend St Roch Market on St Claude for breakfast, lunch or early evening drink, only block away, great mix of vendors serving all types of food ). Who Dat Cafe on Burgundy St is great for Breakfast. Marie's Bar on Burgundy was great for a drink. We walked to the Frenchmen St area twice, about 20 min walk.


The place was tidy and neat, but floors probably need deep cleansing. There is a stop light at corner of St Claude/Franklin, so get a lot of noise from vehicles stopping at night for the light, as well as a few street people at night who like to talk. The front bedroom could hear the noise, so wife and I purchase ear plugs after first night, and sleep great after that. Back bedroom could not hear anything from the street. There is a large flight of steps to get to the apartment. Just remember this is New Orleans and a big city life.

Owner's Response: It's a great location. It is close to many wonderful places. The house is on a busy corner that is noisy. However, the rates are less than 1/2 the price compared to my other houses that are not on a main street. For someone that does not mind the street noise and wants to save a lot of money, plus wants to be close some good spots, this is the place.

Great location

Right on the edge of the Marigny, and just blocks from the French Quarter. Walking distance to great restaurants. The rental was very nice and roomy. Very New Orleans! High ceilings, huge windows make for a real New Orleans experience. I would definitely rent again.

The only con is that the area is fairly loud at night. It's at the corner of a large intersection with bus stop and cars going by. It was a quick trip to Walgreens for some earplugs and it was all solved.

Overall the place was outstanding. Don't forget to stop by Hanks around the corner for some of the best po' boys around. It doesn't look like much, but it's a locals favorite.

Great location!

This apartment is just as it appears on the photos. My siblings and I were in New Orleans on vacation; we loved this apartment. Lots of room...2 bedrooms and 2 sofas; the sofa bed was used. We spent five nights in our home away from home so the washer & dryer came in VERY handy. There is wi-fi and ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living room. Thankfully, the apartment has wine glasses and a bottle opener because I brought several bottles of wine with me from California. ;-)

Mr. Landry was very responsive when I contacted him. He has also provided a journal for guests to share their experiences. We left our recommendations for future guests.

This apartment is a 15 minute walk from the French Quarter but it is also is close to some great local establishments: St Roch Market (delicious oysters and Bloody Mary's), Melba's Old School Po Boys, The Joint, a local food co-op, a coffee shop a block away. I can't remember the name...sorry! The coffee is good, though. :-) There are plenty of after-hours clubs to accommodate your musical tastes, again, right there in this neighborhood.

I highly recommend Let's Just Ride for round trip airport shuttle service and transportation to the Whitney Plantation Museum in Wallace. The Whitney is an hour away so save your Uber bucks for late night rides from the Quarter when you don't want to walk back to the apartment.

I would definitely stay here again.

The property is just as it appears. It is in a great location if you like exploring. We parked our cars on the street and did not move them the entire stay. There were 7 in our party 4 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of room for us. We stayed 5 nights and 4 days and it was an amazing vacation. I would not recommend walking at night from the location to the FQ. We did that 1 night and it was interesting. We walked everywhere from the location during the day and had no problems but we would taxi back and forth after dark. Taxis about $10 each way. Just be aware you are in a big city be aware of your surroundings! As another review said it is loud, because of a busy street just outside the property but its NO it adds character to your story. During MG they take the floats right down St Claude to their home and you get a birds eye view of everything. The property has its quirks but its a older and what older home doesn't. It has a lot of stairs as soon as you walk in the door and not much of a landing at the bottom so you have to go straight up with all your luggage and other personals. I noticed a problem with the amount of hot water but again character quirks. I love NO and will go back every chance we get and would stay at the property again given the opportunity.
