Located in Chocolate Hole, with a Southern view of the Caribbean Sea, POI PU is ideal for the family or couples traveling together. The secluded location surrounded by beautiful tropical flower gardens lets you enjoy a very private vacation. POI PU is located just 5 minutes from the town of Cruz Bay and its eclectic choices for duty free shopping and fine dining. Another 10-15 minutes will take you to the world famous beaches on the north shore within the VI National Park.

Upon entering the villa you will be taken with the open architecture of the great room, dining area with seating for four and full kitchen with all of the features and amenities for preparing snacks to full meals. The breakfast counter provides an area for socializing with the cook while meals are prepared. The double doors off the inside dining area open to the side deck where you will find another table for alfresco dining for six while overlooking the gazebo and pool. The gas BBQ grill is located close by for preparing burgers and hot dogs to steaks and seafood.

Opening the three double doors around the perimeter of the villa will virtually double the entire living space with the addition of the wrap around decks with lounge chairs and casual seating. The open beam ceilings with elegant ceiling fans will insure that the cooling tropical trade wind breezes are circulated throughout the villa. With the perimeter doors open you will enjoy the commanding views of Chocolate Hole and the Caribbean Sea from the inner comfort of the villa.

The family room offers a flat screen television with Cable TV and DVD Player and an audio sound system providing casual entertainment in a relaxing environment.

There are two air conditioned bedrooms with queen beds located on the main level. The beds are each cloaked with elegant mosquito netting and feature ceiling fans over the beds. Each bedroom has an adjacent half bath and share a large and impressive native stone shower with dual shower heads. The third bedroom is located in a large loft and features a queen size bed and tastefully appointed casual seating with TV and DVD Player.

Why Jackie Fenner chose Cruz Bay

The Fenner matriarch and patriarch purchased land on Chocolate Hole in the late 70s after spending two weeks on a sailboat and needing some shore time and Chocolate Hole offered not only beautiful ocean views but a constant tropical windward breeze. The property has been passed on to the children and we take pride in owning such a wonderful vacation home. It has been a favorite and special place to gather with family and friends, and those who have rented it can't wait to return.

Poi Pu offers the luxury of a Caribbean vacation home yet the comforts home. It is situated on a hillside of tropical flowers giving way to warm tropical breezes. The wraparound deck and pool area offer total seclusion from any of the surrounding villas. A 5 minute ride into downtown Cruz Bay makes it a convenient location to restaurants and shopping.

Ahoy St. John and Poi Pu Readers,

A group of friends recently visited St. John. After much research and debating we decided to stay at Poi Pu. Jackie was accommodating with our request regarding length of stay, which made us feel even more comfortable with our decision to be Poi Pu guests. There were a couple of standards that we were not familiar with when we arrived on the island. Jackie was accessible to assist. The location of the house in relation to downtown Cruz Bay is rather ideal. While it isn't necessarily walkable (the hills are "fun") it's just a short 5 minute drive making it nice to be away from the "crowds" yet have the life of the party down the road. The house came quite equipped and had all necessary amenities including beach towels, beach chairs and coolers. The outside deck is amazing wrapping around the side and back of the house, which makes for a great breeze throughout the day. There are plenty of fans to help keep the air flowing and the 2 bedrooms downstairs have A/C. We were quite anxious about those sneaky bugs so decided not to leave doors open during the day and at night when sleeping so the A/C came in handy. The house has a dipping pool and hammock although we didn't really take advantage of these features. Usual amenities such as water are borderline luxuries on the island of which you'll hear from many people so being mindful of water usage was especially encouraged.

St. John is a great relaxing vacation and felt close to home with many transplants from our state who now call St. John home. The beaches on the North Shore are amazing, which are about 15 - 20 minutes from Poi Pu. A car is definitely recommended as taking taxis is rather expensive. On the way back from the beaches you have to drive through downtown Cruz Bay so we frequented the area for happy hour and dinner.

We had a great time on St. John and look forward to another trip to explore new beaches, areas and local flavor.

Spring Break 2017

This was our 2nd stay at Poi Pu and hopefully not our last. We love the island after our first stay in 2011 for our honeymoon and wanted our 16 year old to experience the island too. We love the house, morning breakfast on the patio and love the small pool. Each day watching the lizards, sugarbirds and hummingbirds as we enjoy our surroundings. Jackie is always great to communicate with and all the amenities you need for a beach vacation. Full kitchen, grill, beach chairs and coolers. When there we picture if we ever moved to an island we'd want a house just like this one. Would absolutely stay again!!!

Great views, fantastic access to all of St John

Well decked house with great views to the south. Pool, hammock and decks are to be enjoyed with gentle sea breezes. kitchen is fully functional and grocery access is just over 2 little hills.

Great location, great views, with all the necessary amenities.

We spent most of our time all over the island, but when it came time to relax and unwind, Poi Pu was perfect. Just far enough to get away from the crowds, but close enough to grab a bite to eat or shop in an instant. We stayed nice and cool with AC, our other friends only had fans in their rentals. Everything worked perfect, except we had some issues with shower water warmth and pressure, which may just be an island thing. It was very spacious and never felt closed in. Definitely recommend Poi Pu!
