About Hilde Pfurtscheller
I'm a retired accountant, my husband is a retired mechanical engineer. We purchased this house to use as an escape from the rainy and cold weather from Seattle.
Hilde Pfurtscheller purchased this House in 2013
Why Hilde Pfurtscheller chose Ocala
It's located in warm climate and we enjoy the natural uncrowded setting, yet close proximity to Ocala, The Villages, ocean beaches, Orlando and cultural offerings of area.
What makes this House unique
Quiet, almost rural, yet close enough to arts and entertainment and sporting facilities.

This is a self check-in home. A few days prior to your arrival you will be given your access code to enter via the security lock on the entry door.
Cancelled bookings will not receive a refund.
Homeowner provided information out of date. No contact person, no correct info for lock box, no info regarding rec center location, no directions for finding rental property.
Dealing with vrbo support staff is a waste of time, they have no knowledge of how the system works, was put on hold 3 times once for 15 min, 25 minutes, 45 minutes, with no info regarding status of search. VRBO, another company that outsources customer service, this time with Filipinos, who answer the phone with my name is George, my name is Mary, with accents that can be cut with a knife. Another instance where cost cutting and the drive for profits, outweighs any desire to provide, REAL customer service.
It is doubtful that I will use VRBO in the future, as I had similar problems with my upcoming trip to Costa Rica
In both instances the homeowners had difficulty dealing with, and understanding your customer service staff
A lousy way to run a customer service oriented business.
Great location. Very clean and well furnished home. Really enjoyed our stay while bowling a senior PBA event at Spanish Springs in the Villages Center. Only a 10 minute drive each day. Had a great time. Thank you and will be making a reservation here again next year if possible.
Thank you John. I was worried about your stay when I didn't get a response after your arrival. I am so glad that everything went well for you and that you enjoyed the property.
We enjoyed our stay in this home. It had everything needed for a pleasant vacation. The neighborhood was quiet. We were able to take walks around the streets. If we come to Ocala again we would consider staying in this house again.
Clean and neat, everything you need for everyday living. What brought this rating down to 3 stars was all the carpeting. Made the house smell musty and needed cleaning, otherwise it is very nice and comfortable.
Dear Hal and Jane,
Thank you for staying with us and your comments. I would have gladly had the carpet cleaned for you during your stay if only you would have let me know. I'm sorry that this didn't happen. Our best wishes for a healthy and fulfilled life.
Nice and cozy
Owner was very quick to respond to all our messages while we where at her house. Cozy and clean! Would come back again.
My family enjoyed our weekend getaway in Ocala!! The house we stayed at was nicely decorated & clean! The owner Hilde was a pleasure & quickly responded to our needs. We spent our days exploring the surrounding state parks such as Silver Springs where went on a ride in the glass bottom boat & went kayaking. It was nice to come back to the house & relax after our adventures during the day. We also visited downtown Ocala which had some great restaurants. It was nice because the house was located close to all these activities. Thank you Hilde!!!
Thank you Cheryl for choosing our home! I'm glad you enjoyed a relaxing getaway!
The city of Ocala (Pop. about 58,000) is the horse capital of the United States. Many equestrian events take place here throughout the year.
Wonderful lakes, waterways offer boating, fishing, swimming, diving, explore underground reefs. Enjoy an abundance of wildlife right in your back yard.
Ocala is centrally located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf. Silver Springs River State Park offers glass bottom boat rides to view the many underground springs, pristine clear waters, fish and turtles living there. A museum on the premises shows history and wild life of the area. Wild Water Waters offer slides and fun for young people. Bird watching, hiking and biking trails also found here.
Appleton Museum, Ocala Symphony and the Civic Theater are located just west on I 40 from the Silver Springs State Park. Go east on I 40 and drive through the State Park towards Ormond Beach and Daytona Beach, (about 1 hour drive). Garrits Museum of Drag racing is found off I 75.
Cross Florida Greenway is practically in our back yard. It offers trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, rivers to paddle, archeological sites to explore.
Crossing central Florida from the gulf coast of Mexico to the St. John's River is the state's premier greenway.
The Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway forms the spine of the Cross Florida region. Crystal clear cold springs, verdant horse pastures, abundant freshwater and marine fishing spots, are distinctive historic districts define this beautiful region. It is home to communities such as River front Palatka, gulf front Cedar Key and Ocala.
Downtown Ocala's Tuscawilla park houses the Discovery Center and the Sculpture garden, fine restaurants and shopping.
Southeast of US I via 441 is the Golden Triangle in the Lake County. Here the towns Eustis, Mt. Dora and Tavares are historic towns on lakes and offer much entertainment (Mt. Dora), good restaurants, boat trips, diving, canoes, shopping, quaint homes etc..
Your stay here is not complete without a trip to the Rainbow Springs State Park, southwest through the horse country to Dunellon, about a 45minutes drive, or Manatee viewing/swimming at Homosassa State Park. At nearby Crystal River you can take a glass bottom boat ride and go swimming with the Manatees, which come to the springs for the warm waters during winter months.
