About the property

4 BD, 3BA, (Sleeps 10) with Paddle boards, Kayaks, Canoe, and Sailboat

Sandy Pines, with its own private waterfront, dock, and swimming pool, offers a peaceful retreat within the quiet natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay region. The very private home, sited on broad navigable Harris Creek, enjoys stunning sunset views across the Chesapeake tributary, and is fully-equipped and furnished for a restful family vacation.

We provide two SUP ATX standup paddle boards, two kayaks, one canoe, and a Sunfish sailboat unlike any other rental in this area!

Sandy Pines features four bedrooms and three full bathrooms. One of the bedrooms and baths is in a separate wing of the house, so that families can offer guests or relatives some privacy. Two families can comfortably share the home with comfort. The home features a screened-in porch, a renovated kitchen, a spacious dining room with water views, a living room, and a stunning high volume Bay room with views across Harris Creek. A piano makes for an added musical treat at the shore!

The home is on 3 acres tucked against a quiet cove, which allows for great kayaking, canoeing, sailing, fishing, and crabbing. A pine grove along the shoreline is a shady retreat with hammocks and furnishings to watch sunsets. The dock, with 2 ft MLW, offers pilings for tying up a small boat.

The waterfront area is perfect for reading and enjoying the views on Harris Creek. Your mornings will be filled with the sounds of waterfowl, and you will observe the bounty of Chesapeake wildlife during your stay. Heron, swan, and eagles all visit the area with regularity.

Sandy Pines is less than a two-hours from Washington, D.C. and three hours from Philadelphia and is located in the village of Bozman, five miles from St. Michaels, Maryland. You can walk 5 minutes to the fishing village of Neavitt, which has a playground, park, post office, and deep water boat launch. St. Michaels, Maryland and nearby Oxford, Easton, and Tilghman Island offer great cultural attractions, museums, antiques, artisans to make your stay complete.

About The Owner

We rented and then purchased this beautiful home and cherish it as a place to gather, and to be refreshed and renewed! This continues a tradition for this property. We offer this treasured place for family vacations, and 50% of our families are returning vacationers.

The Owner purchased this house in 2012

Why The Owner chose Bozman

We loved the quiet peaceful feeling of the property, the natural beauty, and its proximity to town (St Michaels). Our two young children love the pool, outdoor area, and experiencing the creek. It's a great setting for enjoying the water in your favorite way: crabbing, fishing, paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, etc.

What makes this house unique

A feeling that you have been away from the metropolitan area, that you breathe fresh air, see so many stars at night, and slip out onto the water whenever you choose!

Beautiful Property Even in the Rain

  • 3 of 5

It rained most of the week! The property was stocked with a variety of items for activity and quiet locations for relaxing. Crabbing was good; fishing was naught. Periodically, the bugs were bothersome, but there were no other complaints.

Ah, Sandy Pines

  • 5 of 5

Our vacation was perfect from start to finish. We had stayed here two years ago, but after staying elsewhere last year, we unanimously agreed to come back to Sandy Pines this summer.

I had a few questions for Brad. He was quick to respond and always with a pleasant manner. From the start I felt like he was treating us like welcome friends. (With rentals, there has to be a level of trust from the owner and respect from the vacationers.) I had to call Lisa and Barry (the caretakers) and they came over in less than an hour. (They’re lovely people!)

We were four generations ranging in age from 13 months to 89 years old. There was something for every generation to enjoy. It was a comfortable walk in the early morning from the house to a great playground in Neavitt next to the post office. The weather was hot, hot, hot so the older folks couldn’t enjoy the screened in porch like last time, but they did enjoy the air conditioning inside. The pool was our focal point of the week (except for the kitchen island—so much food!). We swam from 9-4. Even though St. Michaels is about 9 miles away, no one objected to the ride in. We went for shopping (who doesn’t need another St. Michaels tee shirt?) and to sample the fresh seafood (and a little beer and wine sampling, as well). We did takeout from the Chesapeake Landing Restaurant (which also specializes in crabs by the bushel for take home), had dinner for the third year at Carpenter Street Saloon (don’t miss their special Bloody Mary’s), tried Ava’s for delicious and unique pizzas (they put us in our own room upstairs—if the kids were fussy, we weren’t bothering anyone else), ate crabs at the Crab Claw on the harbor side of town and tried to always finish our meals off with a trip to sample the greatest ice cream in town at Justine’s. We even got to enjoy live music in the park one evening.

The accommodations at Sandy Pines are homey. The open floor plan was perfect for being close, but having space to sit and read, do a puzzle on the dining room table or play with toys on the sun room floor and still be able to talk to everyone. We used the bicycles, kayaks and canoe. It's so peaceful out on Harris Creek in the early morning--sharing it only with a snowy egret, an osprey or two and a few ducks all looking for their breakfast.

As a final farewell to Sandy Pines, on our last evening we witnessed the most colorful sunset. What a perfect end to a perfect vacation. Thanks Brad and Lisa

A beautiful place that feels like home

  • 5 of 5

Our family just loves Sandy Pines. This was our fourth year there and we always have a grand time; there is so much to do on the water and in the water--the pool is perfect! A football game on the lawn or some volley ball keeps the younger ones busy. It's a new family tradition to watch the sunset at the end of the dock. It's a happy place for all of us!

Beautiful Home with LOADS of amenities!

  • 5 of 5

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to spend more time indoors or out in this home. The views are nothing short of spectacular and the four kids loved the pool, fishing and crabbing as well as the paddle boards and kayak! Grown ups loved the hammocks and kid entertainment! The house is well stocked including a spacious kitchen, lovely large dining table that fit all 7 of us easily, and lots of space to read and nap. Only complaint would be the bugs and a number of spider webs indoors rather than out but this happens in the woods and water! Nothing we couldn't handle! Would definitely love to rent again!
