Located in the fashionable Hoxton/Shoreditch area, this cool-style London apartment makes a perfect spot to explore London.
It has 2 excellent large and clean double bedrooms, a modern bathroom with bath and power shower and a superb modern fully fitted kitchen and an incredible private outdoor balcony.
Old Street underground train station is a short walk away. Red double decker buses to St Paul’s Cathedral, Covent Garden (shopping and theatre), Waterloo (London Eye), Westminster (Houses of Parliament) and London Bridge (Tower of London & Tower Bridge) all depart 200 yards from the apartment building entrance every 3-4 minutes. Hailing a London black cab outside the building is just as easy.
The Master Bedroom and the Guest Bedroom both feature a truly superb and comfortable double bed with an excellent memory foam mattress and the finest of crisp clean linens ensuring a wonderful nights sleep. All rooms in the apartment have commanding views of the canal. The master bedroom also has the added flexibility of having an inflatable single mattress made up for a young adult if required.
The Bathroom has been designed with beautiful clean limestone tiles on the floor and around the bath/shower area.
Off the sitting room is a wonderful sheltered and protected outdoor balcony with comfortable and relaxing outdoor furniture directly overlooking the Regent’s Canal.
Within the building complex there is a Health & Fitness centre, which for a small fee offers a fully equipped managed gym complete with a full range of beauty/spa treatments.
Working in the financial markets in the City of London, I bought this apartment in 2001 as it was one of the highest quality apartment buildings in a great location that has stood the test of time. I wanted a place that enabled me to walk to work, or a short cab ride home. I travel a great deal and to have a building with 24 hour porterage was essential to ensure safety and security while I was away. With a great waterside view and offering such a sense of space, when an opportunity arose to buy a larger loft in Shoreditch, this apartment was just too good to let go. I love the area and still live, work and socialise here.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2001
Hoxton & Shoreditch is such a vibrant neighbourhood, crammed full of exciting bars, amazing restaurants, cool galleries, vintage boutique shops and is complete with a very cool vibe. There are plenty of live music venues, specialist lighting, clothing, book and furniture shops. There are cutting edge hairdressers, live comedy shows, parks and squares to hang out in. It is a neighbourhood with photographers, designers, artist galleries, loft apartments, juice bars and just so much more for any visitor to handle! Staying at my apartment offers you the opportunity to live in a very cool and hip neighbour that just doesn't stand still. If you are creative and enjoy being part of a vibe that is away from the common and popular regular tourist traps - but close enough to visit them, take the photo and tick the box, then this is the perfect spot for you!
With my personal created walking tour guides that will be waiting for you in the apartment, you cannot fail but to make the most of what the area has to offer - and it is huge!
After a busy day exploring just how cool and trendy the area is, it is a wonderful to return home, sitting on the balcony with a refreshing drink, watching Londoners go about their everyday business on and along the Regent's Canal from a private and secluded spot. If you enjoy jogging, you can jog for miles and miles along the waters edge, not crossing any roads and avoiding all the traffic. The apartment is located in a very happening and creative area with so much to offer to all tastes.
This apartment at Gainsborough Studio was exactly as described and just perfect for our family of 4 - 2 adults / 2 kids (12 & 15) during our vacation in London. The unit was extremely clean and had everything we needed for a very comfortable weeklong stay. We really appreciated the grocery store on the first floor of the building as it made things so convenient.
Peter, the owner of the flat, could not have been nicer to deal with - very responsive to all of our inquiries before arriving and accommodated all of our needs when we were there. He was kind enough to meet us on our arrival and provided great information on the neighborhood attractions and all of the transportation options for getting around the city. The location along the canal turned out to be exactly what we had hoped – a little outside of the center of the city but still very convenient by both bus and the Tube. It was so easy to catch buses just outside on Eagle Wharf Road or Baring Street.
We would highly recommend this property for renters in London for both business and pleasure. We are already talking about our next visit and definitely know where we will stay again!
Peter's flat is very clean, modern and spacious. It has everything we needed that made us feel at home. The supermarket next door to the building was a huge plus too. The location is superb, very central. It was so easy to catch public transportation. We will stay in this flat again when we go back to london. Thank you Peter for letting us stay in your flat.
My daughter and I spent 6 nights in London in this flat. It was a perfect space for us, very comfortable, and located right on the canal. The bus and train were an easy ride to all the main sites and attractions we wanted to visit. Peter was extremely helpful and even printed out tickets we needed for us mid-week and dropped them off at the flat. There is a grocery store right in the building which was great.
We could not have been happier with our stay at Gainsborough Studio. The flat is lovely, clean and well appointed. The owners are friendly, helpful and respond immediately. They really do everything they can to make the London experience wonderful. My husband and I lived in London, so we well acquainted with the city. But the information provided about the neighborhood (yummy Indian take away down the street) and some more obscure attractions was very much appreciated. We loved sitting on the balcony people watching for hours. It is centrally located for easy access to the city and West End. The shop on the ground floor was all we needed for our entire 10 day stay. We've rented other flats in London in the past and this was our best rental to date. We would definitely recommend this flat to others and consider renting it again.
Not much to add to the already stellar reviews for this flat; everything was exactly as described with great access to local transport and Peter even put up a few Christmas lights for us too.
Within a day of our trip we'd already decided that the flat would be our London base for any future trips.
Even had bedding and towels changed for us mid trip which was unexpected; don't have a bad word to say about location (I was brought up in that area) or logistics for travel or the flat itself; very well maintained and homely, quiet and a great place to relax after a day of trekking around London and with a full kitchen we had the odd night in too catering for ourselves.
Peter recommends a lot of local attractions; I'd add the very local Rosemary Branch Pub / Theatre - real ale , dog friendly and a small theatre upstairs, 5 minutes walk away.
5 stars plus.
My family of 5 loved staying at this amazing property in the outskirts of downtown London. Peter, the homeowner, met us at the property upon arrival, even after a number of time changes, and provided us with everything we could possibly need for our 4 day stay! The location was easily accessible by bus, taxi and tube. We did use all 3! There's also a grocery store downstairs that came in handy for any snacks we needed. We had breakfast at the flat every morning, and even enjoyed a late night dinner on the balcony overlooking the riverwalk. The few days we had in London were not nearly enough! We will definitely stay here again when we come back to London!
