Great stay!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I recently spent a week in this lovely apartment. The location exceeded our expectations. Tons of restaurants within a few few blocks, within easy (and pleasant) walking distance of many museums and attractions, close to tram lines to take you to the museum district. While not luxurious the apartment was more than adequate for our needs. There are 3 flights of stairs to the apartment and they are steep! We were there to celebrate my 60th birthday and we had no problems dealing with them. Our hosts were out of town when we arrived but their friend met us at the apartment at 11 pm (our flight was delayed) and helped us bring our luggage up. Everything in the apartment functioned just fine. In the evening there was occasional noise from the street (no cars, people and bikes only!) in the living room but the bedroom was very quiet. I would absolutely recommend this apartment.

Great Apartment

  • 5 of 5

We arrived on a rainy Tuesday jet lagged but excited to be in Amsterdam. From Central Station it is a short walk or tram ride to the hotel Pepijn and Rachel run. We were greeted with a welcoming cup of coffee. After receiving some helpful toursit information Rachel walked us over to the apartment about a 10 min. walk. Rachel even carried one of our bags up to the apartment. The apartment had everything we would need for our 10 day stay. Rachel explained how everything worked and showed us on a map where there were grocery stores and some good restaurants. The apartment is well locate right near a tram stop. There are grocery stores and restaurants close by. The bed was very comfortable and the apartment was clean. We had a wonderful stay. We are in our 60's and found the stairs to be no problem. I highly recommend this apartment.

Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in December and really were glad to have found this apartment. The location was perfect. We walked to sites everywhere and the distances were about the same, no mater which direction we needed to go. As others have noted, there are 3 flights of stairs, but there are only 45 stairs (15 per flight). They are not particularly steeper than stairs in other countries, but the treads are a bit more narrow. At the top of each flight, they spiral to align with the landing, so the inside of the treads gets even narrower, but we just stayed to the outside and had no problems. We are in our mid 60s and had no problem going up and down several times a day.

We like to shop in local markets and cook many of our meals when we travel, and the apartment was incredibly well set up for this. It is among the best equipped apartments for cooking that we have stayed in. There are good grocery stores in several directions and the Markt on Rembrandt Plein, about a block away, is particularly good. Utrechtsestraat begins just across the canal from this Markt, and is a great shopping street with food and merchandise shops, and cafes and restaurants.

We spent a lot of time going to the many museums, canal houses and other sights and were alway glad to have such a comfortable place to come back to.

There was some street noise that could go far into the night, but the apartment had a good solid door between the living room and the bedroom, which blocked the street noise. By the way, the bed in very comfortable as well.

All-in-all, we would stay here again if we return to Amsterdam.

Great Location, Great Service!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time in Amsterdam and a wonderful stay in the apartment. Rachel was so nice, helpful, very responsive, and accommodating! The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The apartment is a in a great location---easy to walk to many sites, transportation on the Tram was really easy, there was a nice local market around the corner, and very close to an area with great places to eat.
