Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5)

Cute and cozy cabin located just 3 miles to the south of the town of Grand Lake and only 3.5 miles to the south of Rocky Mountain National Park. This cabin has expansive lake views with the Continental Divide beyond.

Best suited for small families with 2-3 kids.

There's room to back a trailer into the driveway. So, if you're planning on going boating in the summer or snowmobiling on the expansive network of groomed trails to the west of town in the winter, parking isn't a problem.

There has been a family of moose wondering around the neighborhood so don't be surprised if you wake up one morning and see them outside the window.

In the spring you can hear the roar of the Colorado River as it swells with snow melt. Try your luck at fishing and have fresh trout for dinner!

Boat rentals available just down the street!

Keep in mind that this is perfect for a small family or couple. Any more than 3 adults overextends the sleeping accommodations.

Snug and pretty cabin, everything just as advertised!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great weekend and loved the cabin. We appreciated how clean it was, how the kitchen was fully stocked (how many times do you get to a cabin to find no colander or no serrated knife or only three spoons?), how nice the bedding was, and especially how beautiful and well-built the cabin itself was. The owners' instructions were clear and thorough, and everything worked just as advertised. The owners themselves were quick to respond, warm, and welcoming. The location is close to the Grand Lake village, without being in it-- this is a good thing, as the village can get very congested in the summer. I was afraid from the map that we might be able to hear the highway from the cabin, but that was a non-issue. What a gem! We are already thinking about trying to come back.

We had a great time at the cozy cabin. It was a perfect place to celebrate our 20th wedding ann.

We loved the cabin and had a great time. Saw some beautiful views of the lake and mountains from the deck. Had some mule deer in the yard - an awesome sight to see.

Charming cabin with view of Grand Lake

  • 5 of 5

This little gem is clean, spacious, has a great deck with outdoor dining furniture and grill, large windows and comfortable furniture. It's approximately a mile away from downtown and that was a perk for us. Downtown Grand Lake is crowded with tourists and this place was quiet. We loved it.

We had to call the owner, Stuart, upon arrival because, although it was August, it was raining and cold most of our stay. Stuart got back to us immediately and he was able to walk us through turning on the heat.

We were a group of 4 adults and found this to be enough space for a comfortable stay. The steps leading to the upstairs bedroom are a bit steep. Just a heads up; it was not a problem for us, however.

We'd stay here again!

Owner's Response: I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the cabin. Also, I'm glad to hear that it was an easy process to get the heat on for you. It's normally not that cold up there during that time of year! Thanks again and you're welcome back anytime! Oh and a small edit to the review; the cabin overlooks Shadow Mountain Lake, not Grand.

Perfect location for a getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was in a perfect location for our summer getaway. Close to many beautiful hiking trails and a very short drive into town. The daytime views of the lake from the cabin are amazing, and we also enjoyed sitting out on the deck at night to stargaze.

The cabin beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything we needed.

Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great cabin with an absolutely BEAUTIFUL view!!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Cozy Cabin! It was exactly what our family needed for our 3 day stay in Grand Lake. The inside of the cabin was perfect! We have 3 girls (ages 11, 8 and 6) and they loved the bunk beds and the additional bed in front of the loft! It was nice they all had their own space. The main bed in the loft was very comfortable, too. We cooked all of our dinners there and it was nice having a kitchen with everything we needed, a grill and a patio set so we could eat on the deck. (The outdoor speakers were a plus!!) Waking up and having a view of Shadow Mtn Lake and the mountains was the best! We highly recommend the Cozy Cabin for your stay in Grand Lake!!

Beautiful cabin, however no working heat and dishwasher issues.

  • 3 of 5

First of all I'd like to say that the cabin was beautiful. Much better presented in real life. However, there were a few nuisances during our stay. First off, our main concern was that the wood burner was not working. I followed the instructions, my father and boyfriend both looked for a pilot light, and also texted the owner (with whom I've exchanged texts with before). No response. Being the middle of April, most of our stay as accompanied by a blizzard. We were forced to use heat from the oven, because I never got any response from the owner. Next issue: dishwasher being fully loaded and no dishwasher detergent to be found anywhere in the house. I know that this is his housekeeper's doing, not unloading the dishwasher, but now I am forced to unload clean dishes before I can put my own in. Following instructions on the sheet emailed to me, I wanted to be sure I put every dish used and ran the dishwasher before we left. So after I unloaded the previous guest's full load of dishes, I had to do mine by hand because there was no detergent available.

I hate to be one to complain, but for the amount of money spent, I think we should at least be equipped with heat in a snowstorm. The dates of our stay were April 19-21. Like I said, the cabin was very comfortable, and the windows everywhere were a delight. Also, the fox coming up on the deck and peeking in the window was pretty cool. Just those two negatives...

Owner's Response: I've recently conversed with this renter via text regarding her review and she stated that she'd retract it for reasons below. First off, I'm sorry that there was an issue with the heat. When I saw this review, I checked back to the initial two text messages between us. I never received a text regarding no heat. If I had, I would have contacted my neighbor to go and look the issue or taken other measures to immediately address. It was revealed that the number that she texted was one digit off. I have to say; an issue as urgent as no heat should require a better form of communication than a text. Secondly, I'm sorry that the dishwasher needed to be emptied upon arrival. Definitely a housekeeping issue which I've addressed. As an owner, we use the property often in the winter for skiing. We happened to use it the Friday after this mid-week renter checked out (that Friday morning). When we arrived that Friday we found a cold cabin. I noticed that the main shut-off to the FP was off. Obviously I wondered why and was concerned by this because it's the sole heat source for the cabin. Good thing we came up or we wouldn't have known. Think frozen pipes. I turned on the gas and lit the pilot and it fired right up. We also found a dishwasher full of dirty dishes. Plates that were not rinsed and wine glasses that looked like they had been used for bacon grease. Honestly, it looked like all of the dishes were sprayed with grease. We immediately ran the dishwasher using one of the pods from the almost full box under the sink (behind the box of garbage bags). I'm glad that this renter enjoyed the cabin but the two nuisances that were mentioned could have been corrected with a phone call and a little effort.
