Perched on a mountainside overlooking a tranquil valley in the Green Mountains of Vermont, our cabin rental offers an escape from your busy lives. Located in the Green Mountains National Forest, our contemporary cabin is a short drive from Killington Ski Resort and the picturesque village of Woodstock.
Snuggle by the warmth of the wood-burning stove, celebrate the outdoors with the 180-degree mountain views from Adirondack chairs on the deck (or most rooms of the cabin), and enjoy the amenities and luxury furnishings in our fully-renovated cabin. It's a perfect getaway spot for one or two couples.
We are about 20 minutes from Killington Resort, the largest ski and snowboard resort in the eastern United States. Killington features diverse terrain, an expansive lift network, the most extensive snowmaking system in the world and numerous off-mountain activities, including après, dining, shopping and lodging options.
Woodstock is just a 25-minute drive from the cabin. Words like romantic, magical and historic are often used to describe this quaint village that has been called 'the prettiest small town in America.'

The spectacular mountain vistas close to Killington for skiing and Woodstock for upscale shopping were the driving reasons to purchase this property. It's close proximity to hiking, cross country skiing, fly fishing, and other nature-oriented activities were also important.

Gale & Dave -- CT
Dave and Gale,
Thanks much for choosing Eagles Nest for your Vermont stay. It was a delight meeting you and I'm so glad you enjoyed the cabin. I very much look forward to your return. What a wonderful surprise it was to receive your special thank you gift, the super candle. Please hurry back to see us soon, either at the cabin or at our new inn in Woodstock!
Family Ski Week
This was our first time skiing in Vermont and we picked a wonderful cabin to do it from. The cabin was beautiful with everything we could possibly need to make our holiday perfect. Killington ski slopes were only a short drive away so it was a perfect base. The cabin was so nice we decide to eat in most nights and just relax in front of the fire. We also found booking, arrival and check out were so easy because of the efficient friendly information received from Phil and his property management team. Many thanks
Sue, thanks so much for your lovely review. We enjoyed hosting you and look forward to having you back soon!
Couples ski weekend
we decided to take long weekend and get away with friends. From the moment we arrived it felt like an adventure as the house is beautifully set in tranquility. When we walked in beautiful music was playing and set the stage. The entire weekend I was pointing out all of the amazing decor and how they had EVERYTHING! We decided to cook most of our meals there and the kitchen and all of the plates, utensils, etc were made for entertaining ! during the day some of us would read, play music and take it all in. Another day we decided to watch a movie from the extensive collection. Each bedroom was unique and had great character. It was truly a luxury wilderness experience. One couple even tried finding out where the mattress was from as we all slept soundly and they were so comfortable. We cannot wait to go back this fabulous retreat.
Our new favorite rental home!
We've been going to Vermont since the late 70's and always rent the same Hawk home further south. We prefer to be further north though, and got tired of the extra drive time, so we gave Eagles Nest a try and it will now be our "go-to" home. It is well maintained, extremely comfortable, thoughtfully decorated, has everything you could possibly need, and is centrally located to be able to go anywhere in any direction. We especially liked the covered deck so we could have coffee and drinks outside while enjoying the Fall foliage and beautiful views, even during the rain and snow we had at times. And the cows mooing in the valley below added to the charm. Rochester has a great cafe for breakfast, and Doc's Tavern for casual and fun dinner - you can even get anything on the tavern or restaurant menu as takeout. We also like Harry's in Ludlow, 45-50 minutes south, especially if you ask for Christina as your waitress. Phil is such a gracious, accommodating, and caring host, and very easy to work with. He even solved within 10 minutes and from another state a small difficulty we encountered. We still haven't seen a moose, though, in all the years we've been going to Vermont, so we'll just have to return - to Eagles Nest of course! Cheers for now Phil!
Pat and Eric,
It was a joy to host you and really look forward to seeing you back at Eagles Nest soon. Warm thanks for taking time to share your thoughts. I'll work on getting more moose on the mountain for your next stay! :-) Phil
First Time In Vermont
Having never been toVermont, I wasn't certain what to expect of the area or this cabin - I wasn't disappointed. This beautifully decorated and well-appointed home is warm, welcoming, and the perfect spot for relaxation away from a hectic city life and from work. The Green Mountain panoramic views are spectacular from the deck, the terrace, and from interior areas - a place to enjoy nature. It's a perfect location for day-trips into Killington, Rutland, Quechee, Stowe but especially Woodstock. I highly recommend this "cabin" and intend to return often!
Dean, warm thanks for taking time to write such a great review. We really enjoyed hosting you and certainly hope you'll return again soon. The mountain views in winter are also spectacular - as is great skiing at nearby Killington.
Skiing at Killington, Gallery Hopping in Woodstock, Sleigh Rides, Small Town Hopping, Farm to Table Restaurants and tons of microbreweries.
