Overview

About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-3)

Suite Home is your apartment – house in Paris , located in the heart of St.Germain. (in the corner of Rue Dauphine and Rue St.Andre des Arts).

Suite home is aimed at visitors , students or business people who would like to spend a certain period of time in the City of Light , while residing in a personal space with contemporary design and exquisite esthete in the most central prestigious district of the city ,St Germain de Pres.

The choice of location was based on the buzzing life of the area with traditional sidewalk cafes , elegant boutiques and the view onto one of the trendiest streets of Paris , Rue de Buci. Also ,the flea market , book shops , florists ,bakeries and grocer shops give a true feeling of a traditional neighborhood. The specific area represents Old Paris and the specific building dates back to 1700 as do most buildings in the area. Suite home was fully renovated by the architectural office Karabatakis Architects and portrays a contemporary design that one does not find easily in the specific area whilst the contrast of the modern renovation compared to the old building is most impressive.

A system of white curtains offers flexibility for alternative space arrangement and creates a theatrical atmosphere to Suite Home. In the main bedroom the curtains surround the sleeping area thus creating a soft “frame” ,behind which a series of other functions are encompassed such as the Boudoir , the cupboards , the bathroom entrance and the window.

Suite Home provides internet access , kitchen utensils , electric fireplace , 48’ plasma TV , DVD player , Nespresso coffee machine , iPod with Bose speakers, Sky rain shower with led lighting , Queen size bed , living room , dining table and bathroom fully equipped by Vola.

Maid , concierge and room service are all available upon request as are transfers to and from the airport.

Whilst you are welcomed with coffee , tea , marmelade and biscuits , Hermes cosmetics , slippers and bath robe can be requested as a vip treatment.

great fun location

  • 4 of 5

This apartment is in a great location, less than 2 blocks from the river Seine and easy walk to Notre Dame and many cafes and shops. We loved the lively neighborhood. the apartment is cute but well worn mostly because it is all white and shows all the scratches on furniture and floors and on couches. Bed was so comfortable.

The bathroom is small and no place to hang towels well or leave toiletries. No hair dryer. I would not recommend it for more than 2 women although apartment sleeps more. The one thing they should do is show you how to work the shower. I have traveled to Europe a lot and never saw one like this. It looks like 2 knobs, hot and cold but it is not. One turns on an overhead cold shower and it was awful . Once we figured it out it was fine.

It is a noisy but fun street so if you sleep light it may not work but we were fine. The walls and windows are thick so that helped. I would stay there again.

Great appartment, excellent location!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a nice, elegant apartment (ideal for a couple or a group of 3) in the most cosy corner of Paris then you just have to book the Suite Home. Excellent location both for shoppers (boutiques, galeries, all high-end shops) and those looking to explore Paris. Notre-Dame, the Louvre, Le Marais, Centre Pompidou are some of Paris hotspots that you can walk to. Centrally located in Saint-Germain des Pres, just a few minutes walk from various metro stations. We will definitely stay here again!

Great design Great location

  • 5 of 5

I really loved the architectural design of the apartment. I t is very minimal, and elegant.

The location is amazing as well! Probably the best in Paris, if you are looking for a "cool" area with bistros, stylish shops, galleries, and an amazing atmosphere!

A Paris must!

Not a very clean suite

  • 1 of 5

Hello: I rented this suite at the end of June with my 2 children. We were extremely disappointed. The property manager was late showing up when we arrived and did not show up when we left. The location is good, but that is about all. The suite is extremely run down and needs a good cleaning and renovation work. There was black mould all over the bathroom and shower and it was very disgusting. I am a nurse and would consider this a huge health hazard. I was assured this would be fixed by the time we arrived as I had previously read about the problem, and it was not. It is in the centre of a major party area with music playing every night of the week until 2 or 3 a.m. I would never rent this suite again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your useful comments. We would like to inform you that the apartment was out of order for a couple of months for renovation updates (double windows etc) and and that now the maintenance and cleaning team have been replaced. Hope we have the chance to welcome you back in the near future. Kind regards,

Hype? You bet!

  • 2 of 5

Did you wonder why there are no reviews for this property? I did.

First, the positive. Fantastic location and the bed was comfortable. Only one floor up. Lovely view of the street. Lots of towels (on request). There was a nice welcome package of wine and cheese, butter, etc.. It is close to everything and St. Germain has great food and shopping. You could live here and never have to travel more than a block away to get everything you would need.

Now the negative. We were unable to close or lock our entry door for the first two days due to a faulty door handle. The decor and furnishings were run down bordering on dirty. Poor, thick vinyl sheet flooring. Very noisy. On an extremely busy and late night (3AM) party street and corner. The bedroom faces the street. The bathroom shower and curtain were moldy. I mean moldy. Couldn't look down moldy. The toilet seat was not mounted as in sliding all over. The bathroom fixtures were loose. The kitchen counter was bubbled and the veneer cracked and worn away from setting hot pots down. The cable and wifi quit on the second day and were not repaired for the remainder of our two weeks. We had to scour the streets for a wifi connection. Luckily a Starbucks is close by. So no TV, news, email, surfing, researching,etc.. Maybe that's a good thing?

Don't be fooled by the pictures. They are professionally staged and were probably done on the day the reno project was completed. The write up implies it is like an apartment hotel. With amenities. It is not. It is a self serve apartment rental. There is no washer and drier but if you don't mind hanging out at a laundromat there are several close by.

If you want a bohemian lifestyle at a good price this might be for you. But don't get sucked in by the hype like we did.

Owner's Response: My name is Eve and I work at the company managing Tonia's apartment. I'd like to reinsure you regarding St Germain Buci apartment: - the door locks - the toilet has been fixed 2 weeks ago - the wifi has been fixed 3 weeks ago - the bathroom curtain has been changed 2 weeks ago and the bathroom thoroughly cleaned. Hope we have the opportunity to welcome you in the near future. Kind regards
