About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

This Victorian home was built in 1897 for Dr. Wilson as his residence and office, the house still has his original intercom system for people to reach him in case of an Emergency.

The Main Floor bedroom is named after Kathy Jo’s mother Eve Webster, this room was the original doctor’s waiting area, which features stain glass windows and the outside door still has Office Etched in the Glass. The quilts on the beds were made by Eve.

The Dining Room was Dr. Wilson’s original examining room.

As you climb up the open stair case to the second floor you will come to the first bedroom which is Blair’s Room, this is named after a very dear friend’s daughter who has her orange and pink wings and is watching over us. There is a quilt hanging on the wall that was specially made for Blair Anderson.

The next room is named after our grandmothers, Jennie Gilbertson which was Jim’s grandmother and Helena Harder which was Kathy Jo’s grandmother. This room is decorated in Kathy Jo’s favorite color Purple. It features a beaded purse that was made by Kathy Jo’s great grandmother for her grandmother Sylvia Webster.

Across the hall you will come to the Deborah Ann’s room which is named after my soul partner who gave me the courage to follow my dreams to make this home a reality. This room is decorated in her favorite color Pink.

The quilt hanging over the railing was made by Eve Webster pieced when she was 7 years old and quilted when she was 70. The Pink quilt in the rack was made for Eve by her grandmother when she was born in 1927.

This historic house was welcoming but overall we thought the house could use a little refreshing.

  • 3 of 5

I'm sure this home is great for crafters but for other quests the home has a lot of unusable space on the main level since it is set up with craft tables. It would be nice to have a sitting area on the main floor instead of having to go to the basement. The basement was a little musty and had a few creepy crawlers. The beds are comfortable and we appreciated having the towels provided.

Owner's Response: Becky we are sorry you were disappointed that the sitting room is in the basement. Please also note that we are planning to do some painting in December during the slower time to freshen the home up. Thank you for your review.

Everything as promised, and everything worked

  • 5 of 5

LOTS of shared space, excellent bathrooms, a very workable, well equipped kitchen, large, really nice dining room, and comfortable and relaxing family room. The air conditioning was on when we got there, and the house was comfortable all weekend. Enough off street parking for at least four cars. One block from Main Street, across the street from a park, two blocks from a grocery store, two blocks from Lake Pepin and the harbor, and other great parks within walking distance. The craft shops are also a short walk away. Very kind, friendly owner.

Old style vintage and cozy

Family came in from Florida. We all enjoyed the location, sitting on the porch at night and the overall charm of the house. Everything we needed was within walking distance. Next family reunion. .we would stay at this property.

Good for families

  • 5 of 5

The house worked well for our mix of adults and kids as there was enough space for every one to be comfortable. We especially enjoyed the porch as the weather was good. The kitchen worked well for us and everyone was comfortable. A good stay.

GREAT TIME HAD BY ALL!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time we were together for a family get together. The house was great only a block from main street and across from the park. We sat on the porch most nights to a great breeze and had some good talks. The rooms were nice and big plenty of room for everyone to stay. The bathrooms where great we could all get in and get ready for the day. I have to say that the 2 craft rooms where great not all of us craft but we could look at old photo's and play cards and had plenty of room. The basement was a great TV room for movies and we did that one night as well. The place is nice and clean and gives you a great step back in time. I will be coming to Lake City again to spend more time. Thanks wonderful Job!!!!!
