Amazing!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have spent the last few years in the mountains of NC for Christmas time. This trip was the best yet! The house is excellent, plenty of space and everything needed to enjoy a stay away from home. The property is what sets this house apart from any other. 100 feet out the side door and you are on thousands of acres of national forest land to explore! The serenity, the views, the hiking and the overall atmosphere are paradise. It is a short drive to downtown Blowing Rock with all the charm of a small upscale mountain town with excellent dining and shopping. Steve was immediately available and helpful the few times we called with questions. We will most certainly be back to 100 Mile for another visit. Thank you Kris!

Will be Back

Couldn't have had a better experience. The house is lovely, the property is exceptional -- very private with incredible views, yet close to Blowing Rock. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Exceeded expectations.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this house with our three young children and had a wonderful time. It was spacious and very clean. We decided to leave our pooch at home, but you would never know that pets are welcome there. The best part for us was the property surrounding the house. It's very secluded and we spent a lot of time outside, taking nature walks and exploring. Also, the view from the back porch is just beautiful. We would absolutely go back and have recommended it to friends and family.

A Piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

This is truly an enchanting home in an enchanting forest!!!! Loved every single moment of being there. Went for hikes daily on the ridge lines looking for starter wood for the nightly fires we built. The views are spectacular! The home is a beautiful home full of character and charm. This was just what we needed. No neighbors, no cars, no noise except natural sounds FABULOUS! We will definitely return to this awesome place again. Steve was extremely helpful to any questions we had and we are glad we got to meet him @ Rustic's downtown and introduced to the salt rubs he had. We tried one on a steak and it was the best steak I've ever had. We bought several different kinds to bring home! Made sure we went to Knights on Main for Friday oysters!! That was the only time we left our perfect place in the forest.

Thank you Kris,

Glenn and Jeni Davis, Orlando, Florida

A Perfect Mountain Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Six adults stayed here for a post-Christmas/New Year's retreat and it was the perfect house for a relaxing getaway. We love to cook, so the fully stocked and very spacious kitchen allowed us to do a lot of that. The enormous HD TV was very appreciated for football games. The beds were really comfortable, the water pressure was great, there were plenty of linens, and the place was neat as a pin, and very clean. The driveway is a bit treacherous so a 4 wheel drive is pretty imperative. Kris, the owner could not have been easier or nice to work with, and Steve, the property manager was super available, friendly, and informative. This is a gorgeous mountain escape. Views off back deck are incredible!

A Jewel in the Mountains

  • 5 of 5

I have delayed writing this review because doing so would bring to truth the reality that we have actually left this wonderful house. After 5 weeks of living in this open, light and airy home we felt that we had found a piece of paradise. The view was incredible and was brought into the living area with the full light doors and windows. This really helped on the rainy days. The kitchen is a dream come true if you enjoy cooking and entertaining. All the furnishings were first class and showed a great attention to detail.

If you want to be "in the middle" of things other than the great outdoors this is not the house for you. We actually loved the isolation and the quiet peace it offered.

The owner is very helpful and quick to respond to any concerns that we may have had.

We travel with our dog and he loved all the new scents that he found in the woods around the house!

I was tempted not to write this review as I really didn't want to share our "find". However, the house is too lovely not to share. I am planning for a longer stay next year. In fact, we would live there if our budget allowed!!
