Keywords: Luxurious Island property on 3.5 acres, accessible only by boat, with all the amenities a mainland house can offer, including a solar-heated pool and hot tub, with dock space for several boats, easy accessibility to the Gulf of Mexico, mainland, bars and restuarants, yet very private. Just over a one hour drive from Tampa, and an approximate ninety minute journey from Orlando. Safe vehicle and trailer parking available at boat ramp.
We purchased our dream island in 2002 and have since then worked hard to bring it to the standard it is today. For years we were very protective of this unique property and kept it solely to ourselves. As local business people, we appreciate the privacy, convenience and easy access that Dreamcatcher provides but the time has now come to share its very considerable charms.
Alan Giles purchased this house in 2002
We were captivated by the secluded, yet easily accessible beauty of the island. We loved the unspoilt beauty and lack of 'professional' tourism in Old Homosassa, the friendly and easy going atmosphere in the bars and eateries and of course the great fishing and scalloping in the Gulf!! Kayaking, jet-sking, watersports of all kinds are right on the doorstep, yet Tampa and Orlando, with their airports, shopping and numerous attractions are within an easy 90 minute drive from the boat ramp. We feel we have the best of all worlds!
The property offers views of the sunrises each morning - the more adventurous can take a short walk across the island to Tigertail Bay along a trail cut through the lush forest, and watch the sunsets on the other side of the island too! Manatee on their way to the Blue Waters pass by the door and dolphin chase the abundant fish up and down the river on almost a daily basis. A huge variety of birds, serenade you throughout the day and squirrels will amuse you with their antics. Sit in the hot tub under the stars, with your favourite cocktail in hand and gaze at the magnificent floridian skies while you wait for your daily catch to grill. lay back, relax and experience the Floridian pace of life - we feel sure that the magic of Dreamcatcher will soon enchant you as it did us.
Just returned from a beautiful three day weekend to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. The owner was hospitable, charming, and gracious. The property is even better than the pictures. Kitchen is fully stocked to make meals and more. The party deck is where we spent all of our time. Rent the boat that is available through the owner. It was the best part of our stay. Loved the screened in porch. The lights on the property after nightfall were stunning. We plan on coming back. In a time where there are no values to be found, it was so refreshing to find a gem like this rental. Owner could easily charge more but is genuinely concerned with his guests! FYI: our two young children are special needs and the property alone was a learning experience.
This is paradise for boaters.4 generations of us enjoyed our scallop trip in this incredibly comfortable island home. We'll definitely book it again in the future.
My wife and I celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary with our children/grandchildren (6 adults, 2 teens) on Dreamcatcher Island for one week. We had a truly wonderful family vacation! The house is very roomy and comfortable with tons of indoor/outdoor areas in which to relax. We enjoyed taking the pontoon boat to the springs for swimming as well as lounging around the pool. The house had every amenity and two fully equipped kitchens. We would urge anyone who wishes to "live the dream" to visit Dreamcatcher!
My wife and I as well as our children and their spouses and 4 grand children recently spent 5 days on Dreamcatcher Island. We had an absolute ball. This house is very well maintained. The huge deck, outdoor kitchen and pool area provided a wonderful atmosphere for family bonding. The indoor kitchen is very well stocked. The décor is quite nice. Thanks for sharing your vacation house with our family.
Absolutly had a breat time. A Super home. You must rent this prperty
This home near Homosassa was a great gathering place for our 2 adult children and our toddler granddaughter. Plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed the privacy and the luxury of taking the boat out whenever and wherever we wanted. We checked on the manatees, went fishing, and saw lots of dolphins. We went shopping for seafood in a fish market from the boat, and really enjoyed the outdoor cooking space. Our host was exceptionally accommodating to our schedule which we also appreciated. Hope to go back again!
