House, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)
I am a choreographer and artist in New York City. My late husband who designed the house was an architect.
Owner purchased this House in 1996
Why Owner chose East Chatham
My husband and I loved the gentle, peaceful country and the culture of the Berkshires, especially Tanglewood and Jacob's Pillow. It is private and rural but not isolated at all. There is gorgeous land all around to walk through..... and one feels intimately connected to nature.

Beautiful Private Retreat
Drive up a country road to a secluded romantic home with multiple vistas. Everything about this house is peaceful and with oversize windows the outside flows in. There is even a meditation room overlooking the property. The general living area includes a kitchen and large dining area. The owner loves to cook and has a very well stocked kitchen. From the living area enjoy views out to the deck and a sweeping rolling hill with 1 of 2 English gardens in sight. There is also a plentiful herb garden next to the other garden in the front of the house that sweeps to the side as well. The backyard and path alongside the house boasts stunning landscaping and zen like seating areas. We enjoyed many days and evenings on a oversized deck and grilled our meals outdoors. Go to sleep in the MBR with the moon and stars that you can see from the door with a vista. There is a nicely appointed 2nd bedroom and den with a futon. There is an enormous open airy studio available for exercise, yoga and more. A finished basement has it's own charm with a large flat screen Tv and comfy seating. Great shopping is 20 minutes away and Tanglewood is also an easy 20 minute ride. There is a 5 minute walk to swimming and several hiking trails of nature at its best. We had a wondrous bucolic season! And the owner was incredibly accommmodating and generous.
We had a wonderful, quiet getaway at Robin's home. The design of the house is comfortable, well thought out, and elegantly designed. The Zen Tower provides a great spot for reading. And the house is close enough to Hudson, Great Barrington, and other cultural centers to have a great meal and visit museums. The house was very well prepared for our arrival, and Robin gave us a warm welcome and a very helpful overview of the house. Recommended for a quiet vacation.
Peaceful, clean and so close to Lennox, Chatham and wonderful restaurants
This home is a gem, more photos are needed to express the beauty of not only the house but the land. Sunlight pouring into the big windows, sunsets from the deck, great hiking right out the door and in the area, great restaurants 10 mins away or 20 mins to Lenox.
Very well maintained and clean with hardwood floors throughout. I highly recommend this property, especially for those who appreciate peace and nature.
Beautiful secluded house
We stayed at this house last winter and thoroughly enjoyed it. We've stayed at some other houses in the Berkshires, but never one that felt as special as this house. There was so much space, from the lovely basement with media room, to the top floor which featured open views of the land, our family of 4 never felt like we were on top of each other. Robin keeps it beautifully decorated and I felt really at home there. The house is close to Jiminy Peak, so it was great for us, and we plan to come back in the summer to explore the surrounding lakes and towns. We loved the radiant heat which kept our feet toasty and it always smelled so good!
Peaceful Retreat and So Much to Explore
The beauty and spaciousness of this home's architecture, it's gorgeous surrounding acres of flowers, woods and fields, and the exquisite, thoughtful taste of furnishings and comforts make this an ideal vacation home. The house itself offers a meditation tower with incredible views and ample space for sitting, a dance studio for movement, yoga, or exercise routines, a deck for grilling and outdoor dining, with stairs down to hiking paths. The open design of kitchen and living room, with fireplace and large windows all around, create an atmosphere of warmth and light. And you can fill the space with music from a richly amplified stereo. The finished basement is cozy and inviting, with TV and a wide assortment of books and videos. You will feel at one with nature, and can also easily drive to so many different attractions--natural and cultural. I look forward to returning for another stay!
The Berkshires is a rich cultural area filled with many wonderful recreational, historical, and cultural activities and locations to visit.
