This amazing 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath custom log cabin on 16 acres with a creek and waterfall running through it is 10 minutes from Maggie Valley and 15 minutes from Waynesville with an elevation of 3100 ft. You are secluded yet close to everything. Gaze at the stars while relaxing in the hot tub on the front porch during the evening. Or, sit out by the creek and just relax and watch the occasional trout pass by. You can venture out for a stroll around the mountain, cook a great steak on the grill or in the fully equipped kitchen.

Log cabin is located on the road that takes you to Catloochee to see the Elks (15 minutes away). You are 30 minutes to Asheville, 45 minutes to 1 hr to Gatlinburg, TN, 30 minutes to Cherokee, and just a couple of miles from I-40 and Hwy 276N.

You have air conditioning and heating, but, who needs it when you can open the windows and listen to the water running and the sounds of the mountain. Home is completely equipped to be either a great family getaway or a romantic couple retreat.

You can watch TV, have wireless internet, and free long distance calling in the U.S., soak in the jacuzzi tub in the master bath, cook up a great meal and enjoy dining on the great 41 ft. x 12 ft. covered front porch with 3 ceiling fans (like having your living room and dining room outside).

Pictures just cannot do justice to have tranquil, beautiful, and completely breathtaking this home is. If you come and enjoy you will definitely be back!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I have fallen in love with your place. It is so hard to leave this lovely place. Enjoyed visiting Waynesville, eating in Maggie Valley and even swimming at Harrah's. Thank you for allowing our pets. They enjoyed it too.

Beautiful Seclusion!

  • 5 of 5

very happy with entire visit!! Kathy (homeowner) was a pleasure to work with, very accommodating and quick to respond to my many questions. The property was amazing! Even in mid-November, there was plenty of foliage for privacy and seclusion. The creek and waterfall were so peaceful and serene! The house was immaculate and very comfortable and perfectly located. We visited Cherokee and Asheville and the local towns too. I would definitely recommend this property and will visit again for sure!

Elk Falls Cabin-simply outstanding

  • 5 of 5

This was a return trip to Elk Falls Cabin. The surrounding area is so peaceful and calming. The creek provides for hours of fun for kids while multiple waterfalls sound soothing and can be enjoyed from the rocking chairs or hot tub on the porch. Attractions close by included elk watching, gem mining, scenic Blue Ridge Parkway trip and Main Street Waynesville shopping and dining. The cabin accomodations are fantastic. Very clean and well stocked with everything we needed in working order. Gas fireplace inside, outdoor wood burning fireplace, toys and games for the kids, cable TV and wifi (for those moments when they are needed). With a toddler we appreciated the gates/doors at the stairs (porch and inside stairwell). Overall we were very pleased with our stay and look forward to our next visit.

Beautiful Home

  • 4 of 5

The House was beautiful. Quick response from the host. Lots of unexpected extras. Hot tub was a little bit of a let down since it has been replaced with a round hot tub that does not have a lot of power in the jets. Whirlpool tub was not working but the host said she would get it fixed after we left (I told her we would be fine and no reason to run anyone out there during our stay). Biggest annoyance was the lack of a trash receptacle. You have to take your own trash off to the dump. We paid a local to take ours off since we left on Sunday and the dumps are closed on Sundays. I understand not wanting to gather trash from the house but having a big metal trash can outside for your guests to leave bagged trash for housekeeping to take to the dump would be ideal. I feel our cleaning fee should have covered taking off a couple bags of garbage. I’m sure we aren’t the only ones that don’t want to make a trip to the dump on vacation.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. Yes, we have had to replace the hot tub, so, it is new and haven't had any complaints with regards to the lack of power in the jets. Also, in your welcome package it takes about the removal of trash. It says if your check-out is on a Sunday or Holiday to please contact me and arrangements will be made. I did not hear from you so I was not aware of an issue. Housekeeping will take a courtesy bag on Sunday or Holiday. But, I am sure you can understand that putting a trash receptacle outside is never a good idea, with the amount of bears and other wildlife in the mountains.

Beautiful setting, well maintained cabin

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't get enough of the creek. The cabin was great, the area was beautiful but the creek was the biggest draw. Whenever we went outside the sound was so relaxing...and the view of the water cascading down the creek made this place an awesome place to stay. And the information sent in advance about the cabin and the area was top notch. Highly recommended.

Great house with great property.

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Despite the fact that the property was a little difficult to locate it first the place was wonderful, the property was scenic and very nice. I would stay at so it's good this home again
