This is a secluded place to get away from everything and everyone! peaceful, quiet, and a lovely cottage to relax and unwind. plenty of hiking, and a nice big grassy lawn to play some badminton, or frisby. The Owners are so very nice, I feel like Doris is almost a friend, even though I have only been up there twice. I cant say enough about my time at Grasshopper lake!
My wife and I, Have visited more that 100 attractions in USA over three years. This place is the best place we have ever visited HANDS DOWN.
If you are looking for a romantic place, Quite place, Relief stress, and Bond with your family members, Then look no more because this is the place.
Thank you Herb and Doris
We were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and cozy this cabin -- more like a cottage -- was in a remote location a mile off the paved road inside Ocala National Forest. The owners were very helpful and gave a lot of attention to providing attractive little decorating touches that made this cottage very welcoming. There was a large screened in porch facing the lake and this is the perfect spot to paint, write, rest, or even meditate! Lots of nature, especially bird life. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed and large adjoining bath; a second sleeping space was a queen-sized pull out couch in the living room. Direct TV with HBO made the isolation feel less so! The only downside is the long, bumpy dirt road that leads to the cabin which tended to make you less inclined to endure the uncomfortable ride back to civilization. The nearest grocery store is about 25 miles away, so come prepared. The owners live within a few hundred feet of the cottage and were very nice and considerate. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. If you like quiet and privacy and a place to kick back and relax, this is it.
