About The Owner

The home is jointly owned by 2 families. This was our parents' home. After our father's recent passing we decided to renovate the house for other people's summer enjoyment. It has been a labor of love, and we are very proud of the way the house looks.

The Owner purchased this house in 2010

Why The Owner chose Huron

We have lived in the area for more than 20 years and have enjoyed the beach community of Old Homestead.

Perfect for family

  • 5 of 5

Clean, well furnished and everything you need. Don't bring any food, groceries are 1000 feet away. The beach at the end of the street. We absolutely enjoyed our entire week.

Better Than the Pictures

  • 5 of 5

The interior of the house is better than the pictures depict: clean, tastefully cozy, and spacious. My husband and in-laws and I stayed here over Christmas to visit with my parents, whose home is too small to host us. The owners had even taken the extra effort to add holiday decorations and table linens! We had plenty of room to relax and enjoy the holidays together including preparing and eating our holiday meal. The kitchen is very well appointed, the only items we had to grab from my parent's house to prepare a full-on Christmas meal were some very sharp knives (there are knives, but they are not sharp enough for cutting root vegetables) and a proper whisk for gravy making. Everything the average, non-holiday meal prepper will need is there: cutting boards, an array of knives, blender, coffee pot, grater, baking pans, cooking pots, even serving dishes! I would recommend this rental without hesitation. Do note, as the pictures show there are stairs upon entry and to the lower level. The railing is a little unsteady so if you have folks with mobility issues they will need assistance (a person to hold on to) when going up and down the stairs. We had two folks with some stability issues and did walk with them when they went up and down the stairs.

A very nice home

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice rental in a pleasant neighborhood. The home was bright and comfortable. Everything was clean and in good condition. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, making cooking easy. The location is also good, as it is near to the center or Huron with a grocery store and pharmacy nearby. The only possible negative is that the house is a split level, with stairs needed reach both the upper and lower floors, and so those having difficulty climbing steps should be cautioned. For us, however, it was ideal.

We were very pleased with this home within a short driving distance to Cedar Point. Our family consists of my husband and I, our married daughter, our single daughter who brought a friend, and our two small grandsons ages 2 and 3. The house was perfect for our needs. We like to cook in and the kitchen was well supplied with all the appliances you need plus even extras like spices and tea. We loved the back deck and spent mornings on it enjoying coffee and watching a robin sit on her nest in the tree next to it. Before we left she had laid three blue eggs in it. We loved strolling around the neighborhood, and the owners have a stroller and a wagon for two which worked great with our grandsons. We also didn't have to pack feeding chairs as there are two there already as well as a pack and play for our youngest grandboy. We spent time playing games around the table, watching movies and one day at the park. It was very enjoyable. I highly recommend it!
